Lake Murray Grooming

Been coming here for over a year. Friendly, reasonably priced. My dog always smells and looks gorgeous when she gets out. Only drawback is that it’s cash only.

We’ve been coming here for a couple of years. They always manage to sqeeze my three dogs in and they come out beautiful. They take great care of my petfamily.

What a dump and how rude the owner is. You can smell this place from across the parking lot. This place is nothing short of a sham and if I did not use the bathroom before i got involved, I may have had greater regrets. Who only accepts cash except those skirting the tax man? Close call.

I love this place and so do my Pups! Beth and the rest of the Lake Murray Groomer team are always so professional and warm. My Peke specifically is not the easiest to groom and they never complain, always welcome him, and my pups always leave happy and impeccable! I am so grateful, thank you!

I have taken my dog there a few times for a wash and shave. It’s fairly inexpensive. The first time was great; they did exactly what I asked. But every time after that, they never listened to my instructions not to cut the top of his head. Then this time, not only did they almost completely cut off all the hair from the top of his head, but he was covered in rashy bumps! AND she casually mentioned she’d cut his chin and made him jerk away from her. Basically, there is a lack of attention to the work being done and now I’m afraid to leave my dog there for any kind of service. I’d rather pay a bit more and feel like my dog is well cared for.

We have been taking our Bischon and Persian cat to Lake Murray Grooming for several years. Beth always does an excellent job. She is fast and very reasonably priced. Highly recommend!

Everybody was coming to our house for a birthday party, and our dog was stinky. She needed a bath; she need her nails trimmed, and her fur had gotten matted around her ears. My dog is a little love bug with people, but she doesn’t like other dogs, not at all. I read the reviews on everyone else and decided on a different groomer in the area. When I called, they couldn’t get me in that day, as they would have to clear their shop for my dog. As a plan B, I called Lake Murray grooming. I asked if she could squeeze my spaniel in for a bathe and trim up, and she said, «what about now?» I threw leash on the dog, some shoes on my feet, and got the dog there before she could change her mind. My dog seem to really like the lady, but she likes everybody. At least that’s what I thought. In about an hour, the groomer called and said that my dog was all done. When I came in, much to my surprise, my dog was in there running around with other dogs, and she looked happy. Say what you will, but Lake Murray grooming took the time and had the experience with dogs like mine to make her much more easy to handle by both them and me. The last time I was there, my dog’s happy face popped up over the door alongside an enormous Rottweiler. I have since been able to take my dog to the other groomer. She just didn’t seem to get the attention that she needed there, and was overwhelmed by the barking mob of dogs at their tiny facility. When I came in there, she was hiding underneath one of the groomer’s tables. The quality of the grooming wasn’t as high. There were things that just didn’t get done that get done every time at Lake Murray grooming.

A few months ago we adopted the sweetest, cutest Persian on the planet! Unfortunately he likes to show his love by kneading me all over my arms and chest in the mornings and I was starting to look like I was dating Freddie Kruger…
Bonz and I tried to do the mani pedi thing at home but he just ended up getting really mad and giving me dirty looks so I knew it was time to get a professional involved.
When I researched online all I could find were Dog Groomers. One of the other Unilocalers had mentioned that they groom cats at Lake Murray Grooming too, so I gave them a call and they got him in early the next day.
I have brought Bonzai in twice now to get his nails trimmed and a few little touch ups (just some fur trimming), Beth is amazing. I always call ahead to make sure she is working and she gets him in right away. He borderline seems to enjoy spa day now!
We will definitely keep up the monthly appointment! The prices are very reasonable and both my arms and couch are happy we found Lake Murray Grooming!

I researched groomers through google and decided to check Unilocal out. I live in San Diego/​Lemon Grove area and used to take my babies to Santee… Bostones…which I still love.
I found Lake Murray Grooming on Unilocal.I called on Tuesday and they were able to see me the next day at 8 a.m. The price was right too.
I took my Jeckyll in Wednesday morning and was informed it would be about an hour. I am used to groomers and thought more likely 2 – 3 hours. Imagine my surprise when I was called 50 minutes later.
Long story short… too late… I will be going back. Quick, timely and they treated my dog as I would.

I was really hesitant to take our dog somewhere new, but I was very pleased with the experience at Lake Murray Grooming. We paid $ 45 for our cockapoo to get a bath, haircut, flea treatment and nail trim, so the prices are great. But more importantly, all the dogs were playing in an open area when we got there and seemed very happy. The grooming station is right out in the open, which is nice. We got back as our dog was being finished up and could see that he was quite happy during his grooming, not anxious. The two women who were working there seemed great, and our dog came home with an adorable bandanna. We’ll definitely be coming back.

Their prices are very reasonable.
They seem to be the only groomer that still grooms cats.
They are fast and efficient.
I recommend them to any animal owner/​lover!

Great place! Very friendly and reasonable rates. Took my dog there for the first time and that’s the best he’s looked.

Awesome place! Had no trouble getting an appointment and they finished my dog’s cut, shampoo, & nails in an HOUR! Wow — I was impressed. My dog was happy and they followed my instructions with the cut perfectlly! The place is clean and the staff was pretty friendly. The rate was reasonable, too! I think we’ve found a new groomer!

Over-​priced and she did not pay attention to my instructions. I asked that my dog be clipped «summer cut but not super short» — she cut about as close as you can without hitting the skin. It’ll grow out but — WTF? — pay attention. Plus her pit bull was humping my dog when I came in. Not good. I won’t go back.

I only bring my Dog Samson to Lake Murray Grooming, He’s A Golden Retriever and he is kind of stuck up. I tried to take him to a different groomer once, and he was not having it. He knows what he wants, the people here are true Dog lovers and it shows.

I do a lot of dog sitting for friends, family, and clients. Before they return from their vacation I like to make sure they are clean, smell good, and look a little pampered… so I have been bringing them to Lake Murray Grooming.
I’m very happy with the job they do there and the dog owners are ecstatic when they come back! It makes the dogs look good, it makes me look good, so I’ve decided to make Lake Murray Grooming look good. :)
I’ve never had any problems and the staff is always friendly and loving towards the dogs.
If you are looking for a place that will take good care of your loved ones, this is it.

One star is probably too much. I took my maltese here to get groomed, and immediately the lady said «He will be ready in 45 mins». So, I waited up to 3 hrs and then decided to call. The lady said «Oh we accidently cut him, its a small cut, he is playing around he is doing fine, would you like me to take him to the nearest vet? «What, did she really wait til 3 hrs to talk to me? why wouldnt she just call me when it happen?. I met the groomer at the nearest vet, and it turns out that the cut was deep and needed stitches.
So upset with this business. My dog was traumatized after this. I would never ever would want to put any dog through this. Please be careful.

The first time I took my dog here it was great. No complaints. I asked if they could cut my dogs nails super short, because the nails grow so fast, and they did. Perfectly. Yet the second time was a horrible experience. The only positive was that she was able to get my dog in right away. I have a lab/​boxer/​terrier mix dog with short hair so there is no grooming required, just a wash and nail trimming and that cost 30 bucks! That seems a little pricey to me considering he needs no cut. The lady literally had him for 25 minutes. He didn’t even get to play with any dogs while there. Oh and she is cash only which sucks if you’re like me and never carries cash on you. And she didn’t have any change so she ended up getting a 10 dollar tip! What kind of CASH business doesn’t have change? Sounds shady to me. I will never take my Petey there again!
