Kamali-Taha Arash DDS

Approximately 3 years ago, I had a bridge made by Dr. Kamali. Getting the bridge was problematic and difficult, due to a combination of grinding and material failures. Dr. Kamali stuck with it and finally had the bridge made from zirconium. Early this year, I began having problems with it… pain when chewing and a sensation of looseness. The bridge needed to be replaced. This possibly is related to continuing issues with grinding which puts extreme pressure on the bridge, and the long span (2 pontics). Dr. Kamali stood by his work and made a new one for no charge. His positive attitude was wonderful. He suggested trying metal as possibly less likely to get damaged. It was delivered yesterday and I am hopeful for years of use.

There have been few times in my life where a service has been so good or so bad that I felt obligated to share my personal experience with future customers (or in this case patients)… So let me tell you my story.
I found La Mesa Family Dental Group here, thanks to Unilocal.I had recently left another dentist in La Mesa because I was so dissatisfied with her service. So much that I didnt want to go to the dentist for a long LONG time.
When I found La Mesa Family Dental Group I was immediately interested in signing up at Dr. Kamali’s office. 100 percent of that was because of YOUR reviews. It was not until I met Dr. Kamali and his staff did I know exactly how amazing LMFDG really was.
In the last few weeks I have been to the office for cavity fillings and a cleaning. Scheduling is not an issue. They always have spots available. Dr. Kamali is knowledgable, down to earth, and honest. He is not pushy and he does not try to sell you anything you do not need (That is HUGE). His assistants are very kind and helpful and his receptionists are very nice and welcoming.
I created this Unilocal account because I felt obligated to pay it forward like so many of you did and to reward Dr. Kamali’s good work.
If you are looking for a good, honest dentist, that is more interested in the health of your teeth and not the almighty dollar I highly recommend Dr. Kamali. at La Mesa Family Dental Group.

I’ve been coming to Dr Kamali for the past 13 years and he’s a wonderful dentist. His staff has always been very courteous and professional whenever I have had an appointment or have questions. His facility is clean, quiet, and makes the whole process of having to visit a dentist a lot more enjoyable!
Dr Kamali never makes me feel like I’m just another person he needs to see, he takes his time and always remembers details about my life which really makes me feel that he cares about his patients. His secretary also always calls you to remind you of your appointment which is very helpful because of my chaotic schedule especially while I was in school.
The pricing at his practice is very reasonable and I have never had any trouble with feeling as though I’m being pressured to spend money on unnecessary treatments like other dentists may do. If you are looking for a kind, professional staff in a open and calm facility to get your dental work done, I highly recommend making an appointment with Dr. Kamali.

Two things you must have in life, a good mechanic, and a good dentist. I have a great dentist! The staff is professional and happy. Dr. Kamali is great at describing any procedures that have to be done, and he performs them flawlessly. I am retired, so I must consider affordability; and all my procedures have been easy on my wallet. I know that going to the dentist is not fun, but when I get my notice in the mail for a checkup, I don’t waste any time in getting my butt in the chair. Take it from me and give him a try, you will never look for another dentist!

I’ve been going to Dr. Kamali for over 20 years and he’s been wonderful. He did a 14 unit bridge that lasted for about 20 years, and I have pretty bad teeth. Basically, Dr. Kamali is a very good dentist and I’m thrilled that I’m going to him for my teeth.

My daughter who is now 20 years old and I have been going here for almost 14 years now. He is my only go to dentist. I have had fillings and crowns done by Dr. Kamali who I find to be very gentle .and even his shots for numbing are painless. He always puts me at ease. I would totally recommend him and his staff for any dental needs you may have. you won’t be disappointed!

My third time here and they are super chill when I am late. Dr K explains everything before he starts and makes sure you are comfortable with what he’s doing. Receptionist Stephanie is very sweet. The nurses also are very nice. I started coming here because it’s by my place and my children come here. Now that I’ve moved further away, I continue to come here. They are never too busy to see you on short notice either, which is nice when you break or lose a crown. (That was scary) but they hooked me up. If you are nearby say hi and you will see what I mean.

Dr Kamali did my veneers a few years back and they turned out great! I basically got a new smile in a couple weeks! Reasonable prices and a down to earth doctor as well. I plan on coming here for a long time.

My family and I have been going for years to Dr. Kamali, and we have felt the quality of our care has been very consistent: He has always given us excellent care. When I had a dental emergency and cracked a tooth, he was extremely understanding and made great effort to treat me immediately, something I have never had with previous providers.
I also appreciate the way he has clearly laid out different treatment options when available, and his prices have stayed reasonable.
My family hasn’t had any issues with the staff, our experience is that they have always been very professional. I would recommend him to anyone – and if you have any questions or concerns, my experience has been that he truly is understanding and will work with you. I always recommend him to family and friends — give him a try if you value great, consistent service.

He gave me several treatment options with dental issues.

I lost a tooth under Kamali’s care at Family Dental. I was a patient for several years. I found that the quality of teeth cleaning became worse over time. Equipment for visual examination of X-​rays seemed outdated.

Horrible service! The women at the front desk are so unprofessional, just sitting there gossiping. Mr. Kamali was so insensitive to my already insecure gap between my teeth that I was inquiring about. Wont ever go back again or recommend anyone here. Oh and did I mention the office is not so tidy. There was dirty chairs, cob webs etc.

Today was my third and last visit to La Mesa Family Dental. The staff are rude and unprofessional. First of all, the receptionist was 10 minutes late, so I was standing outside waiting, she pulls in the parking lot and runs to the door to unlock it, the alarm went off about five times.
I have sensitive teeth and my experience today was torturous. Dr. Kamali’s response was «I have never seen anyone who is so sensitive! most people fall asleep while I’m doing this!» The dental assistant snapped at me «Not to JERK MY HEAD!» then he had his assistant «polish» my teeth, she needs more training. She was dropping everything & did a fast sloppy job, chomping on gum the whole time. I don’t even feel like I had a cleaning. I don’t know her name, because she introduced herself as «I’m just here helping out today.»
They also tried to upsell me a fluoride treatment for $ 35 and a $ 25 toothpaste for sensitive teeth. NO THANKS!

Dr. Kamali and his staff were all very kind. When I chose a filling that wasn’t covered by my insurance (the ceramic white one instead of the silver), Dr. Kamali automatically gave me a discounted rate and didn’t even mention that it was cheaper (I found out by asking from his staff). The receptionists are both really sweet too. As well as both of the cleaning/​x-​ray technicians. I really like the people at this office and will continue to see Dr. Kamali as my dentist.
