Good selection of vitamins, terrible staff, I’m not sure when this place went soooooo down hill. Went here on a Sunday afternoon, the place was EMPTY. There was a large clearance section with vitamins 50% off (children’s) and I happen to like that particular brand so I picked one up. I didn’t notice until later that they were about four months expired. In Ca it is not illegal to sell expired vitamins if you (the seller) notify the customer which means instead of a sign with 50% off the sign should have said «Expired 50% off» to be in compliance. Manufactures cannot and will not guarantee potency and safety past the expiration date so it is buyer beware which is why most reputable stores simply do not sell them. Meanwhile my mom was checking out and was being scolded by the cashier for not being prompt enough with her frequent buyer card because he had to re-​ring her, apparently the card has to be presented at the beginning of the transaction. The young dark haired kid was incredibly rude, he had no line, and no other customers in that store. There were actually three employees standing at the register, one older bleach blonde lady was rolling her eyes during the exchange between my mom and we’ll call him f*#*tard. This place has changed dramatically over the years. It is more like an over priced 99 cent store/​vitamin store. I can only guess that is has changed hands. They carry decent brands but after today I came home and checked Amazon, same brands, cheaper prices, no need to return, time for mom to rip up her frequent buyer card…

This store has evolved over the years somewhat. When I initially started coming here it was to buy vitamins. They used to carry a much larger selection of vitamins and supplements. The cards and gifts were secondary. Over the years they managed to edge out the vitamins and now I think when people come in here they to be confused by the title of the store since the nutrition section has shrunk so considerably. It’s been relegated to a corner. It’s ok when you remember that on the other side of the mall there is another vitamin store.
I still like coming in here for the handmade cards and zany gifts. You can often find some humorous things in here, especially if you’re looking for themed gifts. Holiday shopping is easy in here too. They also have unusual items from time to time. I’ve picked up things in here for my son who loves animals. I’ve also found cute little toys for party bags. I like coming in before Christmas for stocking stuffers, or Easter to fill the baskets. This is also an excellent place to pick up handmade sympathy cards. I’ve also found handmade christening cards. No one has asked me if I made them so far, so phew, I dodged that bullet haha. If you’re an adventurous shopper with an open mind, give them a shot. You just may find something fun in here!

I have been coming here for so many years that I remember when they were in their original location over where Shakey’s Pizza was. It was like a Pick n Save or Big Lots type of store where you could find the most unusual cheap junk you can imagine. Not only that but their greeting cards were only $ 0.25 each, so cheap that I would buy a variety and keep them in my store so when someone was buying a gift I could offer them a card to go with the gift. Customers loved that!
Unfortunately the price of the cards has gone up over the years. They still aren’t bad at $ 0.50 each but I don’t think they’re nearly as nice as they used to be. Whereas before, they used to carry overstock and discontinued cards from major companies, now it seems like they just order cheap cards so they can keep selling them cheap. I still go in there about once a year and stock up though. Unfortunately at this stage of my life I’m going through more sympathy cards than birthday cards.
A few years ago when I was trying to think of something to give my mother for Christmas that she would be able to use and wouldn’t just be more stuff in her house when she was at a stage of her life of getting rid of things, I came in and bought about $ 30 worth of cards in a real all-​occasion variety, including birthday, wedding, sympathy, baby, thank you, thinking of you, anniversary, and even some granddaughter cards. She could no longer drive and that way she had her own little card shop available that she could draw from whenever she was seeing someone who was having a birthday or anniversary etc and cards to mail to the grandchildren without having to beg a ride from someone to go to a card shop. She really seemed to appreciate them.
Oh, and half the store is stocked with healthy items from vitamins to essential oils, protein powders of every variety, lotions, fragrances, creams, and a pretty decent variety of nicer gift items, plus a section of party supplies like paper plates, napkins, decorations etc. They just have a little bit of everything!

Super helpful staff; fun eclectic items, great hand-​crafted gifts. It’s a treat to explore this store, including the discounted greeting cards. I appreciate this store’s support of local artists and vintage-​wares sellers.

Have gotten some really good desks on blank cards with envelopes. They used to have better bit i still enjoy shopping there. Always cool things at good prices. They have cool knock knacks and gift ideas for secret Santa type stuff and crank gifts. Sometime goose bible treats as well.

A lot of neat little do-​dads for gifts, etc. Also home, kitchen and health offerings.
Very reasonable prices, especially on the card selection. I read some negative reviews about the help. They have been fine with me. Let’s remember retail work is no cake-​walk! Worth a visit, check it out… it’s a unique store, especially in today’s world of big-​box, Wal-​Mart-​type stores.

Just re-​discovered this little gem. Walked in yesterday and they have all the organic products I need for my skin and hair care for reasonable prices. I’ve recently tried the oil cleansing method for my face and this place have a variety of oils including castor, jojoba, and hazelnut. Minus a star for lack of supply but I know its because they don’t have much business, hopefully that’ll change in the future. I will be coming back for my health beauty needs.

This is an excellent place to find unique gifts, some made by locals, that you won’t see in other stores. Great prices. Service has always been friendly. Located next to Target, so convenient as well.

I’ve frequented this joint for years, not really sure why. I believe that today will be the last. I went in to buy a very basic father’s day card (for .33 cents — hence the extra star) and I was greeted by a very grumpy, older checker and ignored by her younger co-​worker. I told the checker to keep the extra two cents, as pennies are worthless to me and she kind of scoffed and gave me my receipt, while pulling the pennies out anyway. I came in with a stroller and half expected some assistance as I left with the door, but none was offered. This place is a total disappointment in the P.R. department, despite the pretty cheap prices. that is why I gave them two stars.
P. S. «Mom and Pop» shops are supposed to be more friendly than major corporations — that is how they stay in business right?

I really like this place. The only reason I’m docking them 1 star is that the service is not always friendly. I tread lightly up at the front because I never know what kind of mood the cashier’s going to be in.
But it’s totally worth it to check this place out because they have the coolest stuff! Especially if you’re buying things for a birthday party (especially a kid’s birthday party), Easter egg goodies, party plates and cups, stuff like that. They have nice garden flags at good prices (and they stock flags for every season all year long so if you want to stock up on Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas flags in June, you can!).
They also have some nice garden statues, puzzles, books, and lots and lots of nice greeting cards for dirt cheap.
I’ve never purchased any of the vitamins, so I’m not sure about the service over there.
Whenever I’m looking for something I can’t find anywhere, I try this place because you never know what kind of treasures they’ll have.

Alright — this is a very specific review about one type of product. Greeting Cards. I don’t know anything about whatever else this place seems to be full of, but I can tell you that this is the BEST and now only place to get a card.
I hate greeting cards. I hate having to go buy them, and trying to find one that is at least not stupid-​sounding, let alone clever. I hate having to remember to mail them in time to get to Mom or Dad before birthday, mother’s day, etc. I just plain hate the entire ordeal. But, I skipped sending a card one year, and never heard the end of it, so I have no choice but to comply with this foolish, wasteful convention of our society.
Then, to add insult to injury, after looking at dozens of stupid cards, you turn over the least offensive one you could find, and they want $ 5 for the thing. It’s just ridiculous. Think about it.
Cards here are 33 cents, or 49 cents, or maybe something else less than $ 1, which after all, is much more fitting for a folded piece of heavy paper that a computerized printer laid ink down on, right? And, you don’t have to worry about a missing envelope, because they give you one at checkout. And, these inexpensive folded pieces of paper are no more lame than the $ 5 versions across the mall at Target or Hallmark.
Maybe next time I’ll even look at the rest of the store.

I have only been shopping here since it has been in the «new» location-​never heard of it before that. I especially love the greeting cards, wrapping paper, gift bags, etc.-extremely cheap and unique. Some cards are odd, but I found some by American Greetings for 40 cents! I have purchased vitamins here several times as well. They often have letter sets/​stationery which is becoming increasingly difficult to find these days. They usually have some fun things for the various holidays. I have also purchased paper plates, napkins, etc. for a party and they were very inexpensive. I agree that some of there stuff is tacky, but if you are willing to hunt around the store and come more than once, I bet you will find something you like!

I liked this place. Me and my boyfriend went here to find some vitamins I needed that they actually didn’t have at the vitamin shoppe on the other side of the mall.
The lady that works in the vitamin area was super sweet and helpful. She thought me and my boyfriend were married.
The store itself is pretty random. But it looks like a good place for wrapping paper and such. :)

I do not know why they even bother to call it a nutrition place. Henry’s has more vitamins and supplements in a smaller area. Here they just try and spread the stuff out and there are many bare shelves. There is no one to help you out except young teenagers who know squat. And like others have mentioned… they are not very friendly. The «gifts» is nothing but junk and something a grandma would buy. You are better off shopping at Ross, TJ Max, Marshalls and Tuesday Morning for quality items that are at a reduced priced. I guess the only plus would be wrapping paper, gift bags and cards. It is such a shame that the owners have let it go to the state that it is in now. It use to be the best place to shop when it was in the original location.

My mom used to love this place. We used to go to it when it was at the other end of Grossmont Mall. Now they are in a larger space so they have more stuff.
Tons of supplements, great card section, overall an interesting store to wander around in and look at stuff and the staff is usually very helpful.

What an interesting store… I’ve been going here for years, even when I lived further away. A lot of the products you can buy anywhere, but my favorite is the greeting card section. Cards cost just a fraction of what they would somewhere else. And some of them are pretty nice.

Where else can you get your vitamins, foot cream, knick knacks, and greeting cards in one stop? (sigh. okay ANY drugstore I guess… but do the OTHER drug stores have giant giraffe statues with hats on them???)
Is it just me though, or is it always really stuffy and almost muggy in here? They need AC.
Tip: buy a ton of the vintage style blank greeting cards at pennies on the dollar, and frame them in the small cheap frames that are also for sale here. Instant artwork for your bathroom! No one would ever guess it was a card, some of them are really pretty!

Interesting store, behind Pier I Imports. Touted as a nutrition store, which is does have some supplements and organic products and drink but then a party supply store with knick knacks, cards and gifts. Decent prices.

This is a pretty neat little store with all kinds of knickknacks, cards, gift bags, party accessories, candles, etc. etc. The prices are very inexpensive which makes it good; I suppose it’s an «indie» version of your standard over-​priced Hallmark store.
This store has been a well kept secret for years and exploring it still feels the same as it did to me as a little kid trapped inside there for hours as my mother combed over every item on the shelves trying to find the best trinkets to take home.

I love this place.
It’s such a weird place… the nutrition section is in the back… but the rest of the place is full of cards, knickknacks, jewelry, gift wrap, etc. It’s fun and cheap to come here, and it’s hard to leave empty-​handed.
