As a teenager back in the late 70’s, Jeff Lutz learned the ropes of beekeeping during an apprenticeship with Henning Beck, a master bee keeper. After proudly serving in the military and receiving an honorable discharge in the 80’s, Jeff went back to what he loves and resumed working for Beck as a field technician. Sadly, in 1993, Mr. Henning Beck lost a long-​standing battle with cancer. To honor Mr. Beck’s teaching, Jeff Lutz continues to pass on his knowledge of bees by mentoring and training his staff with the same spirit he once received as a young man. Since his apprenticeship with Beck, Jeff Lutz has locally owned and operated Bee Best Bee Removal in San Diego since 1993.

Super bowl sunday… Hundreds of bees appearing in a tree right outside the door, and they arrived within 3 hours. When they arrived, bees had dispersed, but the prompt service, availability, and professionalism with no charge even after showing up. If I ever have an issue again they’ll be the only ones I call!

I called Bee Best early Monday morning because of an influx of bee activity near our house. They came out within a few hours and scanned our property. We did not have a hive. Because the technician was only here for a short amount of time, they called me the next day to reduce the consultation fee. I was really pleased with their services and their customer service.

We were shocked to find bees swarming right where the kids play in the yard. We called Bee Best and Jeff came over shortly thereafter. He is really passionate about his job and he’s been doing it forever. We were very lucky that we called and would absolutely use Bee Best and Jeff if we ever have this happen again. I love that the bees aren’t killed too and it was really cool to get honey from them. Very nice touch and a chance to give the kids a little education about bees/​honey.

Bee Best came to our rescue after another local company (The Bee Guys) did not solve our problem. We had bees in the eaves of our second story home that were very aggressive and were stinging the roofers when they started working. Time was of the essence because we didn’t want to hold up our construction project or affect workers pay. Jeff showed up in a timely matter and removed exterior wood to get to the honeycombs on a very tall ladder. He is very passionate about what he does and is part of a network that save and relocate as many bees as they possibly can, depending on the situation. He was very personable and professional and we were very impressed with Bee Best. I highly recommend them!

Heard a lot of buzzing in the tree in my backyard, and saw a LOT of bees. Got scared (you would too, admit it). I called and Jeff came out within an hour or so. He let me know that my tree is feeding a lot of bees right now because the tree is in summer bloom, but there is no swarm or hive in the tree; just a lot of happy bees. They will move on when the tree drops it’s flowers. Good to know I am doing my part to keep the bees alive, and our ecosystem healthy as a result. Thanks to Jeff for educating me without charging for a bee removal! Great service and I would call again in a second.

I just had a great experience with Bee Best. I called and talked to Jeff. He was very customer-​friendly. He came out within a couple of hours and determined the best time to deal with the bees would be at dusk. He showed up at dusk, treated the bees and told me exactly what needed to be done as a follow-​up to remove the honey comb and wax, saving me some money. I couldn’t be more pleased, especially with Jeff’s customer-​friendly attitude.

I have yellow jackets making their nest in my eaves. I called them out to remove and they charged me by the nest. $ 205.00 bucks. they removed them and the yellow jackets just came back a week later in the exact same spot. so called them back out. they came out again free of charge. the yellow jackets came back again and I called and they came out and removed the nest again. So now the yellow jackets are back again and now that it has been over a month since the first yellow jackets removal they want another $ 195.00 to remove the same nest that the yellow jackets keep rebuilding. I am going to call another company to do the job they can not seem to do right the first time, second time and even a third time.

I opened up an outdoor trashcan and was greeted by the sound of way too many crazy bees. They had built a hive in 1 – 2 weeks and was lucky to have been able to make it inside unscathed.
I called Bee Best (on Easter Sunday no less) and was greeted by a friendly and very helpful woman who was able to schedule a tech to come out to remove it later on that evening. Like clockwork, I got a call from the tech right around the window she had quoted.
The best part, was the bees had left by the time he showed up. He went out and took a look, and agreed that I could likely take care of it without his help. He let me know what I should do (down to wearing protective clothing like a scarf) and went on his way totally free of charge. I know who I am going to call if I ever have a bee problem again for sure.

I had a bee infestation inside a commercial building, Bee Best Bee quoted a 4-​hour response time but actually showed up in about 20 minutes. They removed all of the external bees that they could find and gave a 30-​day warranty on their work, unfortunately they missed the queen so the hive reformed. The commercial space was locked so it was very difficult to ensure that the entire problem was solved.
They came back out the very next day (when we were actually able to open the building) and quickly removed the interior infestation. No problems since!
Amazing response time, good price for the service, and true to their warranty they did not charge for the 2nd visit to finish the job. Great company, very helpful and courteous. Would definitely do business with them again.

Just called this firm because they are local (I’m in Rancho San Diego). Told the guy on the phone I had a bumble bee nest in my back yard, I could see the hole the bees were using, that it was a simple, walk-​up and treat call. He said he wanted $ 395.00. I didn’t think i heard him correctly. He repeated $ 395.
I asked him why so much (twice that of other firms I called) He said «that’s just what it is».
No, my hanging up the phone «That’s just what it is»!

Sitting watching TV one lazy afternoon, I looked left and saw a bee buzzing around my window blinds. Hmmm, I thought to myself, there’s a bee in my house.
Less than a minute later, I saw a second bee, then a third and I freaked!
I ran upstairs to my computer and searched for bee people in the El Cajon area, all the while imagining my living room would be full of bees when I went back down.
The first company I called couldn’t come out until the next day.
I then called Bee Best Bee Removal and pleaded my case to them. The gentleman I spoke with told me that they couldn’t come out until later (about three hours, I think), but also — very calmly — told me what to do to stop the bees from coming in (cover my fireplace opening with a black trash bag), and that the bees inside my house would quickly die trying to get back out.
A very nice «bee guy» stopped by later (I think he was headed somewhere because his wife was sitting in the car) and made sure that I did not have a swarm/​hive problem. He said it was just some elderly bees that had gone off course and flew down my chimney in error.
I felt better and he and I were both on our ways.
These guys were so nice and reassuring, that I would not hesitate to call them in again for any bee issues I may have. I’ve recommended them to other folks in my neighborhood who find themselves the unwilling landlord to bees.

Bee Best removed hives for my neighbor and myself from our roofs. They had been there for a while and we tried everything to get rid of them even calling out a regular pest removal company who came out a sprayed chemicals. Finally we called Bee Best Bee Removal and they removed the hives. They were not the cheapest but you definitely get what you pay for. Thanks Bee Best Bee Removal I will always recommend you!
