To the business owner: Thank you for your comment. Here is my response:
*You said $ 60 for an hour. Please read the entire review and you will see where I wrote that I was concerned because initially you said «60 for an hour and later you switched it to «Like for 30 – 45 minutes:.
*My husband and I both heard the same thing.
*Honesty and being forthcoming would have been appreciated over the phone without telling consumers it’s $ 60 flat. That is not being honest, however, I understand possibly how you can forget to mention that.
*Obviously you’ve been in the business for a while and therefore understand that some systems are more intricate/​complicated/​detailed than others and therefore, that information should have been relayed over the phone prior to us driving to your shop.
*You said that you run an «appointment based shop» but the night before when I asked when we could come you said «Anytime.» Again, not very clear and making it appear as though it was not appointment based.
*I did mention that perhaps my perception of the other cars being worked on was a bit off since we didn’t see anything and I gave you the benefit of the doubt on that one, but we were told the night before we could come in anytime so of course that can be a bit frustrating for some consumers when they have to be turned away after being told they could come in anytime.
Thank you for your response again, but my husband and I were still given inconsistent information. Again, no one is perfect, but in the future it is best not to give exact quotes over the phone. In the beginning of my review, I wrote that I triple checked prior to getting off the phone the exact price and it was changed when we got in there. I triple checked just to cover ourselves in case it did take longer. I was told $ 60 flat. Not for an hour, or 30 minutes or 45 minutes, but for anytime.
I am sure your business is great, we just had a bad experience and I have to be honest about that. I am sure you didn’t do this intentionally. I hope you understand that just because I am being honest about my experience that it is not necessarily negative, but truthful.

With the exception of having the stereo installed at my house I am not happy with quality of work done for what I paid for.
— Never received a cover for my sub-​box
— the speaker covers on my front door speakers come out randomly when I close either my door or my passenger door.
— recently one of the speakers stopped working or goes on and off randomly. When I took the stereo out to take a look, from what I can tell the wires form the stereo to the amp were used and have seen cracks. When I moved the speaker wires there’s static and speakers will go on and off form a substandard crimp job

Robert and G came over today and amazed me with their proffessionalism and exceptional craftsmanship.
i got quotes from other shops and they were trynna give me the olé stiffy, but Robert is very straightforward and cares about his work.
SO i have this mustang with one of those pain in the butt Mach systems, they were able to overide the amps and customize my entire system to sound great. These guys take no shortcuts and do a fantastic job.
Lifetime warranty on their work and they come to you. It doesnt get any better. I will be back.

Incredible service at an incredible price. I have never been so pleased with a Unilocal recommendation. I emailed him with a question and he responded quickly, professionally and honestly. There were no hidden fees and he was so upfront about pricing. I was so pleased with Robert’s work, products and demeanor that I recommended him to my friend via text AS HE WAS DOING THE WORK.

I chose Xcessive Trends based on their 5 star reviews and a general distaste of all other audio installation shops in San Diego that I contacted. A lot of these audio installation shops are like the record stores of yesteryear: A-​Hole breeding grounds.
Xcessive Trends is fundamentally different than any other audio business that I have contacted. Not only is the business mobile, which is a HUGE bonus, but its owner, Robert, is genuinely interested in educating you as a consumer, and taking the time to help you make the best decision possible, with the resources that you have. There is also a lifetime warranty on all service.
I have an 07 Civic SI sedan, and I researched audio equipment for the car for about 4 months, so I knew what I wanted by the time I contacted Xcessive Trends. I purchased all of the equipment (receiver, speakers, amp, steering wheel control adapter, accessories) sans the amp installation kit, and sent an item list over to Robert for review, and also scheduled an installation date and time at my place of work. Robert was very responsive throughout the entire process. He also readily worked with me on the price, since the initial quote was out of my budget range.
I ended up installing sound damper in the front driver and passenger doors (highly recommended), and also installed the front and rear speakers. Robert and his installer installed the rest. The install was completed in under 4 hours. The system sounded fantastic after some minor adjustments.
About a week later I noticed that the rear channel high pass filter on the amp (JBL GTO-​5EZ) was faulty, and was causing the rear left speaker signal to sporadically cut. I contacted Robert and he tested the amp and confirmed that it was defective. I sent the amp back and got a new replacement within a week, and scheduled another installation date at Robert’s earliest availability. He came back and installed the amp, tested it, and reprogrammed the steering wheel control adapter which had dumped its settings for some odd reason.
Overall, I am 100% satisfied with the work. Robert runs a solid business, and I challenge you to find another place who can come close in customer service, which is HUGE, and price. As far as I’m concerned Xcessive Trends is the only place to go in San Diego.

Hi, if you guys are looking for a good place to get subwoofers speakers amps or any form of car audio system turn to this guy Robert is the man! He came to my work the other day and did full install in my 2008 honda civic coupe, 2 arc 12′ d4’s w/​a 350.2v2 (700 watts+) and bass knobb to adjust and this shit bumps so hard!!! I love it he tuned it perfectly and right when i was getting off was when he was finishing up so he tuned it accordingly to how i like it! This guy will communicate with you whenever you need answer any questions you need and be as much service as possible to you something i don’t think any shop normally puts up with. Shops just want to get your money then get you in and out as fast as possible. This guy actually cares about you and your car and was excited as i was to see how this turned out. i have warranty’s on everything and am beyond satisfied with not just the product but mainly the service. I researched for months and went to many shops. But these guys are the best and ARC audio is the shit too! CHECK ROBERT OUT! He really will fulfill your wishes he knows what he is doing and is very good at it! I made an account just to write this cause he was so good to me, reccomending him to all my friends.

AMAZING SERVICE AND EXCEPTIONAL INSTALLATION******
I have an Acura and after installation of my ipod adapter that was purchased someplace else, it was noticed by Robert that there was an issue with the adapter’s cable. He was not in a rush and took the time to answer my questions, even though I had not purchased item through Xcessive Trends.
Once new adapter was delivered following week, he installed that one, so I could return defective item to online shop.

Called em up Sunday afternoon to get a quote to tint my wifes car. Got a better price than any other place around and they come to u. Ended up having an opening round 5 the same night so i was all for it. They did an outstanding job and truly cared bout the quality of work they put out. Will definetly come back for future buisness and highly recommend u do the same.

They come to your house! Delivery is not just for food. Installed my alarm in 2hrs and it wasn’t too pricey either. All in all statisfied with the work.

I have a Honda Civic SI Coupe and I decided to replace everything but the stereo because it had the navigation unit in it. I spent about three months looking around, visiting several places for assessments and feedback. I know very little of stereos and the technical aspects surrounding an installation so I was also looking for some education. I knew what I wanted the system to sound like so my challenge was to convey that to the various shops I visited.
The first thing every shop asked was «How much do you want to spend?» Before they even asked what I wanted, what I knew, etc. It had been a pretty stressful process and du diligence and frankly I was about to give up on the whole thing when I came across Xcessive Trends. I read all of the great reviews and positive experiences and I wanted to experience that for myself.
I emailed Robert, gave him a brief of what I was looking for and the types of music I listened to. Within minutes Roberts acknowledged my email and stated he would get back to me later that day.
As promised, Robert later emailed me with a very thorough and detailed explanation of how he works his process and then proceeded to give me options on equipment always educating me on how each piece worked and the expected output.
In the end, the equipment (four speakers, boxed subwoofer, an amp and EQ) suggested were top notch and at far more reasonable prices than what I had already looked into.
Robert and Gene came to my house and installed the system meticulously and took their time to ensure a clean installation. The result was pure craftsmanship and quality. They educated me on how to use, and tune my system to my liking and I could not be happier.

Worked on a new E-​Class. Great service. Very knowledgeable. He made a minor error which he was upfront and honest about. I probably wouldn’t have even noticed it. Highly recommend.

I made a Unilocal account just to type up this review. I believe most people would want a mutual balance in respects of paying for goods or services, and that is exactly what I’ve received from Robert. I was given exceptional customer service from the start. We went over options through email on what I wanted for my sound system. Once he had an idea of what I expected, he then sent me an itemized list including a thorough description of why he chose each product. He also explained how it would fit my expectations of what I wanted out of my new sound system.
Today he installed a whole set up of; 2 amps, head unit, front and back speakers, and sub. Everything was installed correctly, and the wiring wasn’t all over the place. It was a clean install. One thing that happened during his install was that the lock to my passenger door was failing to lock. It was just one of those things that happen coincidently. Robert took time to see what the problem was, and he began to try and repair it. He got it to lock, but the switch attached to the actual locking mechanism wouldn’t quite sit flush with the rest of the door handle. I repeatedly told him it was fine, and that I would take care of it at a later time. He tactfully insisted he could fix it, and after some time finally got it back to normal. How’s that for customer service?!
He even took more time reassuring that I understood my sound system, and gave his recommendations on EQing my system. The music my new system reproduced was clean. You could tell that this is his passion. When you have someone who’s passion is their way of making a living, it will definitely show in their quality of work. Robert didn’t cut corners or rush through our discussions. He hits the 3 P’s. Patient, Personable and Presentable. I truly believe Robert and his business Xcessive Trends will soon be a highly competitive car audio/​security business in San Diego.

Thank you Unilocal!I found Xcessive Trends through Craigslist, and I did a quick google search found them here with 5 star ratings, emailed Robert and within a couple minutes we were shooting emails back and forth, I honestly have nothing but great things to say about Robert and staff. Robert is one of the nicest owners of a car company I’ve ever met, he’s not that type of guy who acts like he needs to be put on a higher pedestal, or acts like he’s better than you in anyway. I’ve done business with Xcessive Trends twice now, the first time I got footwell lights and the second time, which was recently I had my windows tinted. Both jobs were done with 5 star quality, and more importantly 5 star customer service. I’ve tried other auto places and I got to say this is by far the best place in San Diego! Robert has a genuine care for his customers, on the second job I was asking about getting my front windshield tinted, as you can probably tell I’m not a expert with cars and regulations, Robert warned me about the possibility of a fix it ticket, honestly who else would put their customer before the quick money? I also got a repeat customer discount! Robert made sure I got the 5 star service that I wanted, he even said if it wasn’t 5 stars he would do what he had to make it just that. Another awesome thing of all of this is that they install at a place of your choosing, at whenever time you want! The prices are really great, I can’t stress that enough, as a college student I don’t have money or the time to deal with people who are trying to pull a scam, its really nice to know Xcessive has my back. I’ll do business with them for a 3^rd time in the future. All and all if you have any car installation needs Xcessive Trends is the way to go, you rock Robert!

AMAZING SERVICE AND EXCEPTIONAL INSTALLATION What else is there to say about Xcessive Trends?
I was searching on Unilocal for a stereo installation company to have a receiver installed on-​site and after searching by Ratings, I was lead to Xcessive Trends.
I shot off an email with my questions and within MINUTES had a reply from Robert… to all of them! His customer service was top notch and pricing was extremely competitive. To top it off, his pricing INCLUDED on-​site installation at no additional charge.
We emailed and phoned back and forth until we decided on a head unit that would be perfect for the car so I made the appointment
After a 90 minute install and Robert explaining how to use the new radio and it’s many features, I am EXTREMELY happy and would HIGHLY recommend Robert and Xcessive Trends!

The guys at Xcessive are the BEST! I have a 92 landcruiser that I am doing a restoration on. Decided to install a double din pioneer unit and 4 speakers, an 4 channel amp, and got a great deal on a JL 10 inch sub, and JL amp. Not only did robert give me a great deal on the JL amp/​box, he also did a great job of installing everything I bought from Amazon. Bottom line, you dont need to pay for quality, Robert and Gino do great work, i mean pro quality and save you time and money by coming out to you. I am gonna get my alarm and Tint done with them bc I know they will get it done right and stand behind their work. I promised i would give you a shout out Robert/​Gino, you guys deserve props. Great job, 1 happy customer here and will be sending business your way.

So I recently bought a 2004 BMW x3 and wanted to add in a good quality stereo w/​bluetooth and ipod capabilities. Looking online I came across Xcessive Trends, gave them a call and spoke with Robert directly. He was VERY helpful in explaining to me what I was able to do in my car, and what would work best for what I was looking for that fit in my budget. Most places (maybe because I am a girl) don’t seem willing to answer the million questions I have nor take the time to explain to me where my hundreds of dollars are going, but expect me to just hand over the money and trust their word. NUH UHHH! LOL Robert gave me options, great customer service, came to my home installed my stereo all for a great price.
I will be referring all friends to him as well as returning to do a little more in my car since the prices are so affordable here.
