Scripps Center For Integrative Medicine

I’ve had nothing but issues with this place. I’m sure it’s a great place if you can get in and actually see someone. I made an appointment for my daughter 2 months in advance. Then 2 weeks ago they had to change the date. My daughter lives 3 hours away. Then we are getting ready this morning to finally see the doctor and they call and cancel. They only had one appointment between now and the end of October, and that single offering won’t work. They were totally unwilling to accommodate us or offer a reasonable alternative for their screw up. I’d look elsewhere unless you just have to have the name brand.

Always excellent care

I’ve had a really great experience at this center. Unlike conventional doctor’s offices, scripps integrative doctors actually spend time getting to know you and address things like diet, exercises, stress management and more. They offer acupuncture onsite, biofeedback and other modalities for treating chronic pain and general medical conditions. The good thing is that all of the treatments are science based and since they are part of scripps, you can go to the next door and get the imaging tests needed for accurate diagnosis. I highly recommend this center.

They treat people really well here. The staff, the Drs. Everyone is warm and wonderful. I have met several of the physicians here and they are just what you would want as they stay on top of the latest research and studies but they treat the patient with personalized care. If u need a cardiologist. Doug Triffon MD is stellar and he is a king, caring dr that listens as well. He takes his time with patients.

It was having some issues which I could not get any answers to and was referred to the Scripps center for integrative medicine.
I was found an urgent appointment with dr David Leopold. My appointment was in depth and he went over all my symptoms and recommended treatment for me. He also gave me a couple of further appointments in which we went over progress and further suggestions.
Integrative medicine should be studied more in depth amongst all physicians and a part of all treatments.
I would recommend dr Leopold and all other staff members to anyone.

Scripps Integrative is as good as it gets! Very caring doctors and staff. They really take care of you there. They treat the whole person, not just the symptom. Dr. G recommended an AMAZING course that they offer, the Lifestyle Change Program. I took it in 2006 and I am healthier, thinner, more active and happier. It’s a new lease on life. Highly recommended!

I was very open to learning to meditate and enjoying the experience with my son, who has taken several meditation courses and loved them. We both made the mistake of joining. From the beginning I was shocked by Karen’s mania and agitation. I felt nervous rather than calm in her presence. She gave us her tapes to take home and her voice was grading rather than soothing, it was annoying to hear it repetitively on her tapes. We both attended two classes and realized that this program was not for us. I contacted her on 3 occasions and she called me back 2 times and we played phone tag. When I got a hold of her (on the 4^th time calling her) I explained that this program was not for us and that we would appreciate a partial refund. I received a letter back several months later denying my sons and my refund because we signed a «refund/​cancellation Policy» and they stated Karen had attempted multiple times to reach us (well yeh, so did I attempt multiple time to reach Karen). It surprised me that the caliber of the program as so low, and that a meditation teacher would go against the Zen philosophy of materialism and deny me a refund (I guess it is al a big business). It also felt like a scam in that they did not have a trial bases to such an expensive program (Unlike the UCSD mindfulness program which does have a cancelation policy). All in all, it was an expensive and a horrendous experience. There are several such programs at various hospitals and meditation centers in San Diego, I highly recommend that anyone considering this program, think again and take it somewhere else.

Dr. Bonakdar is amazing. I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and was lucky to be referred to Dr. B. He started me on acupuncture once a week & prescribed several vitamins which have been amazing. He also prescribed a pain cream that works great when i have muscle pain. I feel about 90% with the vitamins & acupuncture. It takes a while to get an appointment to see him but well worth the wait!

Healthy lifestyle teachings from real certified professionals. Not fake like I see a lot of the time who are just going along with the fads of the time. Awesome lessons on healthy cooking, vegetarian dishes too. I’ve tried two different types of Yoga: Vinyasa-​style yoga and Kunalini yoga from Hari Das Kaur who’s had over 25 years of teaching. My first class and she was beyond wonderful. She’s a blessing

Thirteen years ago I enrolled and learned much about myself and my health. This after I had been in a surgical accident that left me «five minutes» from cashing it all in. My life changed its whole trajectory, now healthier than ever at 77. And enjoying every minute of this «appreciation» stage of my life: tennis, acting, traveling, writing, politicing, grandfathering. Carpe diem!

I became a patient at the Lifestyle Change Program at the Scripps Center for Integrative Medicine after my previous cardiologist told me he didn’t know what else he could do for me. What he had done was numerous surgeries, none of which improved my cardiovascular health, relieved my angina or permitted me to walk more than a couple blocks without collapsing. Mimi Guarneri’s staff at the LCP were nurturing, caring and interested in helping me develop a network of knowledge and support. It gave me the confidence to make it through the physical and emotional challenges of being a heart attack survivor. Their methods include exercise, nutrition education, music therapy, prayer and probably most important — group support. I’m a better patient and a better person because of it. If you want someone to fix you — go to a surgeon and get cut to pieces. If you want help learning to fix yourself, this is the place for you.
