My best friend is a retired college professor from South Dakota who was forced to retire due to serious pain problems. He retired to San Diego hoping the weather would help and because of the excellent medical care that is available here. Besides being treated by several neurologists in South Dakota, and a couple more here in San Diego, he was treated by half a dozen rheumatologists, all of whom prescribed the usual pain meds whose potency steadily increased. He was introduced to Dr. Sajben’s website and he began regular treatment with her in 2011. He has been off all addicting medications ever since. His pain varies like any chronic illness can, but it has never been as high as when he first began to see her and his quality of life now is very good.

Before I met Nancy Sajben, I had never experienced a medical professional raising their voice at me in anger. I was shocked a Neurologist would yell at me over a few hundred dollars, and when I expressed my astonishment, she did not blink or offer any kind of remorse. There is something deeply wrong with a practitioner who goes from reciting Buddhist quotations to yelling over money in a span of minutes. Aside from her lack of professionalism, her method of using ketamine is completely unsupported by any scientific evidence or literature. Sporadic IV infusions of ketamine have shown incredible potential for treating intractable pain and mood disorders, but there is no established basis(or even safety data) for having someone squirt ketamine up their nose twice a day. If you are reading this because you are interested in seeing Nancy Sajben, I would strongly advise you to reconsider.

I broke my toe in November of 2013. Five months later my toe and foot still hurt, were swollen, and I could not walk correctly. I was told by a physician that I might have a condition called Chronic Regional Pain Syndrome(CRPS). I called Dr. Sajben about seeing her for CRPS which is one of her specialties. I called her and she asked me questions over the phone about my condition. Based on my responses she was able to tell me that she was certain I did not have CRPS and I needed physical therapy. Most doctors would not take the time to talk to a patient on the phone for as long as she did. She referred me to a fantastic physical therapist that was able to rehabilitate me to where I am just about 100% healed. This is a doctor that is extemely knowledgeable and cares about helping people. I would highly recommend her.
