Pura Vida Bracelets

Company was recommended by a friend who loves them. I ordered last week and paid extra for 3 – 5 day shipping and still waiting for them to arrive. The tracking number they sent in email is invalid and does not show up on the major shippers. Emailed them only to be told that shipping takes longer because I’m not close to San Diego. Amazon has sent packages from a further distance in two days. They also sent me a link to a DHL tracking page that states the order is still in transit and expected to deliver yesterday… but it’s not here. I could have gotten embroidery floss and made my own bracelets in the time it’s taking these people to deliver.

Glad I wasn’t the only experiencing problems with this company. Terrible robotic customer service, slow shipping, and empty promises. Don’t have a black Friday sale if you can’t keep up with it.

Update**
I finally received my package, only to find the wrong order! The receipt had my name with a completely different order number!
The company said that the items I ordered were out of stock, so the only option I had was to receive a gift card and order them again when they are back in stock.
Why would you have bracelets up for sale on the website when they’re not in stock?

Terrible customer service. Ordered bracelets ¹¹⁄₃₀ that never arrived. They kept sending shipping confirmations without a tracking number. Called and was told they couldnt find order, would need to redo order but all of my items were now out of stock. My daughters really wanted these for Christmas. :(
Frustrating company!

Great concept. Great Bracelets. Pleasant on the phone. Horrible service. I am not sure if it is that they have grown too fast and did not have a business plan in place or what has happened but they are extremely slow getting product through their warehouse, and the chances of getting the wrong order are way too high. I hope that they can figure out how to fix the disconnect between customers ordering and then actually receiving their correct orders and in a timely manor.
Also — It bothers me that there is so much advertising that you get within the package of bracelets. If you are truly trying to help out charities, don’t spend so much money on pointless business cards etc.

I ordered 2 sets of headbands in July. I received only one set. They kept saying it was on back-​order — at first until August, then September… They went on like this every time I inquired — they kept changing their story, so I cancelled my order in November but they didn’t refund me my money. Cute headbands, but I can buy them elsewhere and not get robbed.

I discovered this small California based company in complimenting someone I came across during my busy work schedule. Not only was the person’s bracelet eye worthy, the name «pura vida» was different and unique. Being raised in Los Angeles and growing up in a melting pot from all walks of life, I immediately associated the phrase that is commonly used in Costa Rica from one person to another. It’s a expression that is repeated to each who appreciate the vast beauty the country has to offer both land and sea. Costa Rica = Rich Coast hence Pura Vida = Pure Life. You can find local retailers that carry certain items but I didn’t bother and chose to go with online services that offer a complete backlog of inventory. The item selection was very easy and you have the option to create a profile or buy direct using email.
Everything that is composed in making a handcrafted bracelet comes from local material in Costa Rica and is hand made using it’s own labor force. A portion of your money is donated around the world to various organizations to help promote a greener environment and in addition, a portion stays in Costa Rica to educate local artisans.
The quality that goes into each bracelet is impeccable and durable loaded with detail and rich colorful designs and styles with a theme, cause or just a plain design. Various assortments are available and I would encourage anyone to surf online retail store and let your eyes do the walking. I ultimately purchased 6 bracelets and gave 5 away because they really do attract the eye. I’ll be buying more this X-​mas, they make great gifts :)
The website is loaded with rewards and discounts and you can also apply to be like a area sales rep if interested.
I chose to use my paypal account for my purchases and my items came in a soft paper bag with protection bubble rap inside. You also get a free sticker to show off to your friends and family. Collect 10 little burlap cinch recycled bags and earn (1) bracelet.

This location is literally their office, so if you are looking for a storefront… this is not it, but there are plenty of nearby stores that sell pura vida bracelets and products (just use the store locator on their website).
They do have a check-​in offer, so I went anyways! And now I have a special little reminder of my weekend!
I’ve had nothing, but amazing experiences buying bracelets from their website!!!

I ordered a pack of bracelets online on ⁷⁄₂₇ and later received an invoice via email that they shipped on ⁷⁄₃₀ but without a tracking number as promised. I did not received them by ⁸⁄₇ and emailed them for an update. They emailed back they were out of the pack I ordered, were getting another shipment and it should ship on ⁸⁄₂₀. I emailed on ⁸⁄₂₄ asking if they shipped because I had not received a tracking number. I ultimately didn’t receive the order until the beginning of September.
All of their email responses come at about 11pm, each from a different person. I tried several different phone numbers that I found for employees and never reached anyone by phone. They do not keep their website up to date as to what is in stock, you buy, then wait for weeks with zero communication initiated by them. Perhaps, they imbibe in the Pura Vida lifestyle too much to run a business.

They deserve more stars for the concept behind the bracelet but thanks to the negative stars I give them for their customer service, I’m landing on 2 stars. First couple of orders went fine. Then I tried to get my credit for referring a friend. She ordered the required amount yet my credit never came. Followed up. They gave me the runaround. In the end, I basically had to fight for the credit and they only gave me half of what I was supposed to get. Acted like they were doing me a favor. Total turn off.
After that experience, I decided the order to use my credit would be the last. And that experience confirmed it for me. Both bracelets were due to ship at a later date. No worries. Well, that day came and went. Finally received notice that my order was shipping. I received one. No word on the status of the other bracelet. It finally arrived a month or so later but there were ZERO updates on the delay in the meantime.
It would seem their business model is promote the heck out of it and bring in a steady flow of new customers, knowing their customer service does nothing to help with customer retention.

I love their bracelets and the «cause» they are supporting, however this company is clueless when it comes to proper customer service… waiting weeks or months prior to shipping paid items is unacceptable. I won’t be making any more purchases as I’m not up for constantly trying to get into contact with a human being to figure out when my order will ship… wayyy too much work on my end… I’m sorry I guess I’m too old fashioned. I like to place an order and then have it ship in a REASONABLE amount of time.

I love what this company stands for and I’ve been wearing their bracelets for over a year now. They’re very nice quality and last forever. In the past, I have always bought their bracelets from local beach shops in San Diego, where I don’t live more than thirty minutes from their main offices in La Jolla. Having never bought directly from Pura Vida, I decided to give it a try. Upon doing this, I found that their customer service is absolutely terrible and they don’t know what they’re doing. This company thinks that once they charge your card, they’re done with their job. I ordered two bracelets a couple months ago, and I still have only received only one of the two after two months of waiting. I have tried to check shipping information, but every link they send me says that both of my bracelets were delivered together on July 24^th which was not the case. After contacting them multiple times, they finally sent me an email saying that they shipped my Guy Harvey bracelet three weeks ago and it would be here soon. Despite my emails asking for shipping information, I still have yet to receive anything and they couldn’t seem to care less.
I understand that they get a lot of orders and they are a very busy little company, but that is no excuse to treat paying customers like this. If you are interested in buying a Pura Vida piece of merchandise, DO NOT BUY IT ONLINE. Based off of the other reviews I read, I wouldn’t recommend going into their store either. Your best bet is to buy their bracelets at surf shops because they can’t seem to handle customers in a professional manner.

I love what this company stands for, and they have a pretty great selection of bracelets at this location. Their office recently moved, and is now located on the 3^rd floor above Prospect Grill and Sushi on the Rock. I would recommend stopping by during office hours if you are in La Jolla. These bracelets make for wonderful little presents, there is something for everyone! I especially love the Charity Collection.

Love the bracelets and such a great philanthropic organization ! The store is part of their office so it might not be what everyone is expecting, but its cool to see what goes on behind the scenes and everyone is really helpful ! Love this place !

I ordered several bracelets. One of the items never shipped so I cancelled it. The bracelets that I really liked broke within 2 days of wearing them. I returned 3 bracelets because the silver was tarnished on 2 of them, and the other one was a duplicate. I provided a tracking number and returned it to the address I was directed and it was confirmed as received on August 13. I sent 6 emails, 2 phone calls and one live chat with no response and am still awaiting the refund to be posted to my credit card. Very disappointed with the quality as well as customer service, er lack thereof.

Ordered five bracelets a month ago and received one. It will be worn out before I get to add the others. I emailed and they said another would be shipped them days ago. It wasn’t. Absolute deceitful crap.

I have been waiting for my 4 bracelets since ⁶⁄₁₈. Nothing… I have tried to call… they have no agents available. I have emailed… my bracelets are on their way! (yet, they never come). I have tried to chat… they are being shipped tomorrow (yet they never come). This is a terrible company that has already charged my credit card for bracelets that I have yet to see. Don’t be fooled by the «altruistic» message of being a world citizen… thus far they have only succeeded in taking my money.

Walked around for about an hour searching for this place and it was difficult to reach anyone by phone. This is the Pura Vida office and they have a small wall of bracelets to purchase from. Located in the Prospect Square on Prospect St, 3^rd floor in suite 350.
Although I love Pura Vida Bracelets, their «storefront» just wasn’t what I expected. I was imagining walls of bracelets stocked with all they have to offer (thought I had seen an Instagram like this once before). I drove 30 miles to find out this just wasn’t so.
