Naturale Beauty Bar

I love this salon, it’s definitely the best in the area. I was recently attending a wedding near La Jolla, and a few of my friends recommended this place. Firstly, the décor and aura of the salon is perfect! It is immaculately clean, modern, and really comfortable. When I walked in, I was greeted by a friendly smile by the lady at the front desk. I was treated super well by all the employees. I wasn’t sure how to style my for the wedding, but the lady who styled my hair was an expert and helped me out big time. My hair was gorgeous and the staff was awesome! Overall, it was a pretty flawless experience, but beware because parking can get tricky during the peak hours. I have no idea why some people give this place one star– I highly recommend it and I will come again!

I love this place for it’s location, service, and booking convenience. The online booking tool is the best for picking a time and stylist. They offer great weekly specials. In addition to blow outs I’ve tried threading here and was really. While all stylists have been great, I’m a big fan of Annie.

I went in for a quick blowout on xmas eve– ended up taking 2 hours :(the girl who did my hair was inexperienced with long hair, so only upon my suggestion that she do a brush set and not flat iron (which i can do myself) did she get the hint. Thankfully, britney was able to salvage the blowout! I will definitely be requesting only britney next time.

This is an absolutely fantastic find! I did my first «blowout» when I had no time for myself but had to keep working and looking professional. I was amazed at how simple yet essential this service was. My hair looked amazing and I couldn’t help but love all of the compliments I got on how good I looked (nobody knew it was a simple blowout). This was 3 years ago. I have been going ever since and go at least once a week. When possible I go twice a week. If you have never treated yourself to a blowout, you should. And Naturale is THE place to go. All of the stylists are wonderful, the owner is a gem and the vibe is friendly and warm. I’m always happy when I walk out after my blowout. I recommend this salon to anyone needing hair services and now they do facials too!

Called them and was fortunate to book an appointment for the following couple of days early in the a.m. (8am). needed it for a beach photoshoot.
To say they were accommodating would be an understatement, not only were they just that.
They know what they were doing and were quite friendly.
The manager, Brittany did the airbrushing while Jocelyn did both my hair and the rest of the makeup. Brittany did some services I didn’t request and I welcomed them. Nice lady. I enjoyed some convo with Jocelyn and ended up with CUTE looking hair and makeup.
Only critique I have is lack of phone etiquette from the young lady who I spoked with and wished contouring of the nose was a tad better.

I was in downtown La Jolla for a wedding and went to Naturale to get my hair and make-​up done. I had a great blowout, then curls put in. At first the curls seemed way too tight as I asked for beachy waves, but luckily I had faith in my stylist and the weather. By the time I was ready for the wedding my hair looked perfect and exactly what I asked for.
The make-​up was already expertly applied with really high quality products. All in I had a great experience and was happy with how I looked for the wedding. I would suggest playing better music /​upbeat music to set the vibe of the place a bit happier. Also, they had TVs but they weren’t playing anything, might be fun to put on music videos or something.
Really good experience, but slight upgrades could make it great!

Excellent customer service! Wonderful skills for makeup and hair. I was in town for a wedding and while I was walking around town I saw the store. I booked an appointment to get my hair styled the next day right before the wedding. It was an unusually hot weekend with rain and the air conditioning went out at our hotel. It was terribly hot and sticky. When I got to my appointment they were finishing makeup and hair for two other women. It looked so beautiful I asked to get my makeup done and avoid doing it while sweating in my hotel room. She did a fabulous job on my hair and makeup. Many, many compliments at the wedding! Additionally, it was pouring rain while I was there. The precious two women had been waiting on a taxi that never showed and decided they needed to walk. The salon owner sent them with the only 3 umbrellas they had in the salon to protect their hair. While my makeup was being finished the owner got her car and waited for me at the door to drive me to my hotel without being asked. Incredible customer service and excellent results highly recommend Naturale Beauty Bar! Thanks for making me feel beautiful for the wedding.

I had a great experience for an updo. Renée was wonderful and it looks so stylish and cute. It started to rain when the appointment was over so the owner actually walked me with an umbrella back to my office. It was very thoughtful.

My friends and I needed a last minute place for a blow out and we stumbled upon this hidden gem. Not only did they accommodate three girls right then but it is the best blow out hairstyle I have had. Ask for Jocelyn and she will make you look fabulous! Thanks we are grateful!

Easy to book online. I’ve tried every single stylist they are all wonderful. I mostly go for the blowout services but I know they offer full makeup as well.

I am continually ecstatic when I leave Naturale Beauty bar. Every girl who works there does an amazing blow out. I can make an appointment with anyone there and I know I’m going to come out looking like a million bucks. The girls there are also so nice and friendly. This is definitely the place to go for blow out, updos, and make up in SD.

I feel bad writing this review but not as bad as I felt when I wasted $ 40
For this blow out, Amelia was my stylist and I think she needs to put in a little more practice before she charges $ 40. My hair looked pathetic, I went home and started over. I did explain this to her but I just don’t think she has the experience. And when you check out to pay if you can’t add the tip and have to run to the ATM, guess what? You’re not getting a tip, because this service is supposed to be a convenience.

Got this deal through Living Social. It took 2 ½ hours to blow dry my hair with zero style. I think the gal Amelie had no salon experience. I literally had to curl my hair myself and apply my own hairspray. I would not recommend. Parking was also bad. Cute salon though. 1 star for salon and ease of appt making. That’s it!

So pissed! Just left and so unhappy with my hair. I just spent $ 40 on something I could do at home.
I ask for full body hair with curls. My stylist put no product in my hair before blow drying. She finishes drying my hair and curls it a little. I look in the mirror and the curls are already falling. I asked her if she put any product in it. She says «no, just a little light spray» she even tells me the curls aren’t going to stay.
The topper was as I’m leaving she’s says «bye, thank you» as she’s staring at the computer screen. Can’t even look me in the eyes to say bye.
I’m going back to DryBar!

I was pleasantly impressed today with Naturale Beauty Bar. I was able to get an appointment the morning I called. I walked into a bright, clean, cheery atmosphere, where Brittney introduced herself. She met my expectations — I wanted a wash and curl, and that is what I got — even with as much hair as I have I was in and out in just over 45 minutes! I wanted something quick and easy and that is what I got — the hardest part was parking!

The blow dries I’ve had here have been good. I will come here if I’m in the village. Otherwise, I don’t go out of my way to come to this salon. It has a rather cold atmosphere and they don’t offer you anything to drink other then water and tea. No soda, no coffee, or small flute of champagne or wine (like Dry Bar and Blowpop offer). They barely play music, they don’t have televisions to watch junk reality tv or a movie while getting your hair blown out (like Drybar and Blowpop) and it is just a rather sterile, cold salon. There isn’t any life here in the occasions I’ve come in. But, like I said, I have been pleased with the blow dry so far…

For those looking around for hair and makeup people for a wedding, I would definite NOT recommend this place. If you care about fair pricing, good customer service, and quality work, I would look elsewhere. Just to give you an idea of how bad our bridal party’s experience was at this place, let me just start off with, I am a big fan of Unilocal for restaurant reviews, but never felt the need to write a review for anything yet. My experience at this place on arguably one of the most important days of a young woman’s life COMPELLED me to write this review.
To make a long story short: Our stylist and customer service representative (Brittany) raised the prices on our bridesmaids when they were rung up, saying that we had agreed upon a contract of a 25% mandatory tip (25% of a $ 135 hair & makeup job is no small sum). This was never discussed. Never were we told that our fake eyelashes would not be included in the make up package until after the fact that they were applied. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE customer service. Because the bridemaid did not want to create a scene, she quietly paid the amount requested for. This put the bride in a bad mood the morning of her wedding. We all felt very taken advantage of. Again, this is coming from a person who has never written a review before.

This place is pretty decent. My complaint is that none of the stylists looked like stylists. Ponytails… messy hair.frumpy. I dont want someone doing my hair who doesnt have good hair or isnt dressed nicely. My blowout came out pretty ok/​nice but that was enough to turn me off from going here again.

I have been coming here since they opened and I keep forgetting to write a review! I would say I have been, hmmm 35 times and I have always walked out with a big smile on my face and a sparkle in my eye. I personally hate my hair up and I’ve tried oh so many times from different stylist to get it right w/​o any luck till Naturale. They do a great job, always nice and me, always happy.

I had been having my hair professionally blown out twice a week for 11 years while living in Long Island, NY before moving to San Diego. It is by far one of life’s most enjoyable simple pleasures…
I have VERY thick coarse hair … not the easiest to blow out. To do a good job, the stylist really has to know what they are doing.
Naturale Hair Blows is a fabulous addition to La Jolla. I have been here twice now and the service has been wonderful. My hair looked amazing both times and lasted 3 to 4 days. The stylists really DO know how to do a good job that lasts.
The salon is very clean. The people who work there are all polite and have nice personalities.
I will be going here often. I highly recommend this salon to anyone and everyone!
