Mt Soledad Market & Deli

I’ve been coming here for years! The deli is so fresh and the sandwiches are always made to perfection! But beyond anything else the staff is the best! They’re all so kinda and welcoming and always have a big old smile on their faces; I love walking In their doors for a quick bite to eat or just to say hi as I grab the mail!

No prices listed for a lot of things, but cashier super nice and didn’t charge me the $ 0.50 fee for using a credit card under $ 10.

Great good and very welcoming people. If your looking for exotic foods this is the place to be. My kids and I love this place.

Usually really happy with my sandwiches from here. Today I ordered a club sandwich. Apparently, their club is lettuce, cheese, lettuce, onion, lettuce, tomato, lettuce, bacon, lettuce and cheese. No meat, but maybe the meat was hiding in the shreds and shreds of lettuce.
Won’t be back for a while.

Best sandwiches on the mountain!

Sorry everybody! We live in La Jolla and went here bc of the reviews. It was not good at all. My wife ordered the TAB with no mustard and no tomato. When we unwrapped the sandwich it was covered with mustard and had big slabs of tomato. My son wanted a breakfast burrito after reading the to-​go menu, «breakfast served all day.» When we ordered we were told, «breakfast is only served until 11:00.» So he just ordered a bagel with cream cheese. When we unwrapped his bagel the sandwich maker apparently used the same knife used to make sandwiches. The cream cheese on the bagel included a healthy amount of yellow mustard — not exactly a good thing for a 7 yr. old that didn’t really get to order what he wanted in the first place. I got the Bomb — The sourdough was stale and the roast beef was super tough with large ribbons of chewy fat… yum! It is never a good thing when you have to spit out fat from your deli sandwich… pretty gross. Again, I am not too sure about all the positive reviews… maybe family members or something. I would avoid this place if I were you.
One positive: They have Dirty Funky Fusion chips.

I work at one of the salons next door (Our Little Secret Salon) and come to this market on my breaks for their sandwiches and snacks. Ronnie is super sweet and funny, as is everyone else who works there. They carry a lot of foreign goodies too, like Yan-​Yan, Pocky etc.

Good sandwich but I got horrendously sick for three days after eating here and I am positive that it was Soledad market because my dad also ate here at the same time and got sick. Possibly the worst stomach virus I have ever had.

Although a bit expensive, their sandwiches are always very good and filling. They have a lot of great candies & things that I don’t usually see in the average grocery store, but you pay a bit of a premium for those goods.

I was here a few days ago and they are now carrying Dippin’ Dots Ice Cream! This is a great market with great sandwiches. I highly recommend this place!

Great sandwiches! My two sons both love eating here. They’re a bit expensive but well made.

Came in here for the first time to see if they had an ATM (which they didn’t) and the older woman working behind the deli counter was less than helpful. I asked if they had cash back options and her response was «well, we don’t really have a lot of money… and there’s a $ 2.50 charge.» Wasn’t the response I was looking for. I don’t care if there’s a $ 2.50 charge and who doesn’t have cash when you open up in the morning? After grabbing a coffee, I went to go pay and still felt I was getting attitude from the lady because she was having to give me cash back. Horrible customer service!

This place is cool. It’s your basic convenience store, but La Jolla style. They have a deli counter (pretty good «sammies»), and dry cleaning. «One Stop Shop». Very friendly folks. It’s on the more expensive end of the spectrum, but given the location, not exactly a surprise. It’s convenient!

The sandwich I got here was utterly delicious and fresh. There are plenty of choices of what you can put in your sandwich and there are plenty of choices to drink. My son also picked up some panda cookies for dessert (which he later brought to the zoo).
This was the perfect place to grab something quick to eat before heading to Mt. Soledad. We had the best picnic while watching the sunset.
Just sucks that there is no bathroom here.

This place is so great we just opened a salon next door called Our Little Secret and we are so thankful to have these fresh sandwiches to eat everyday. We are addicted to them.

Really friendly people work here and i go there often as i love myself a great sandwich. They also have more items with a great beer and wine isle.

How fortunate we are to have this independent little market right in the neighborhood. Sandwiches are superb but that’s not where it stops. They have an extensive wine selection and Mark has the expertise to advise you on what’s appropriate for your needs. All the regular stuff you would expect at a convenience store plus some gourmet treats to add spice to your table. Prices are very reasonable for a store of this size. Staff is nice and helpful. Highly recommend.

Good selection of food and drink including items you won’t find in the supermarket (Yoohoo!), very friendly staff, and incredible sandwiches. At least once I week I partake in a sandwich, generally either the turkey club, Italian sub, or pastrami. Convenient and great to have nearby.

This place is a gem! Their sandwiches are unbelievable. I don’t know what makes them so good, but i crave them often! The employees are friendly and helpful and I am on my way to get a club sandwich right now!
