Emotions & memories are stored on a cellular level in the body. We develop physical & emotional armoring /​blocks from a young age in reaction to painful emotions & experiences. We do that in order to survive but when we are no longer in those situations, those defense mechanisms can affect our physical & emotional states adversely. This therapy works to break down the armoring so our energy can flow as freely as possible, bringing you back to the most natural state of functioning prior to the onset of the armoring. This changes a person on a core energetic level. Your emotional, mental, physical & energetic states are addressed through verbal/​insight work and counseling, eye movement exercises, breath work, physical hands on manipulation of muscles & bodily expression of feelings. Energy work & readings can be integrated or used exclusively. Extremely high success rate with pain relief. In identifying pain level on a scale of one to ten, the goal is to achieve a zero within the first session.

History

Established in 1995.

Lesley was compelled by the idea that there was something missing from talk therapy alone, since our emotions and memories are stored on a cellular level in our bodies. In her search to find a therapy that was not just a bandaid effect but would truly resolve emotional issues on a core level, she started studying with masters in the field. She then integrated her formal education with her personal and professional experience and went into private practice. Combining both her experience as a client (in Orgone Therapy and Reiki energy work) with her graduate work in therapy as wells her work with her clients, she experienced first-​hand the powerful effects of integrating the mind with the body on both herself and her clients.

Lesley Skoloff graduated from Syracuse University in 1990 with a BFA in special studies in Art Therapy. She graduated from Lesley College in 1993 with a MA in the Expressive Therapies. Lesley worked in a certified drug and alcohol program /​wilderness therapy program for adolescents from 1993 – 1994. She worked at a locked residential treatment program for adolescents from 1994 – 1995. She has since studied and trained in Orgone Therapy as well as hands on healing/​Reiki energy work (becoming a certified Reiki Master in 1995) for almost 20 years. Lesley has had a successful private practice since 1995. Lesley practices in La Jolla, CA as well as working with clients in and out of the country through phone and Skype sessions.
