La Jolla Presbyterian Church U S A

My husband and I started going here when we first moved to La Jolla in 2009. We were welcomed with open arms from the start. We’ve had both our children christened at the church. We’ve since moved to the South Bay, but we keep coming back every Sunday for services because of Rev. Paul Cunningham. His weekly sermons are relatable to every generation from young to old.

This is one of those Friendly Home churches. Although large in member size, three services, and many community programs, there is a welcoming spirit that makes visitors feel like family. We searched for a roll out of bed Sunday morning close to home church for over five months, of different denominations, increasing our driving circle, and even though this is eight miles away we knew this would be our home church.

We were thrilled with our daughter, Jamie’s wedding ceremony at the La Jolla Presbyterian Church! Lori Thrower, the wedding planner, is very experienced and guided us through every detail. Thanks to her and others our ceremony was perfect! Pastor Paul Cunningham is very caring and knowledgeable with how to perform a wedding ceremony. He took charge of the service and we were touched by his moving words as the Holy Spirit led him. The organist, Donna, performed beautifully with our soloists and background music. John, the sound system coordinator, did a remarkable job and provided us with copies of an audio CD to commemorate the occasion. The church is gorgeous! We will treasure this special memory because of the wonderful team at La Jolla Presbyterian Church.
