Bought a groupon & scheduled an appointment for a Brazilian Wax. When I walked in I was greeted by Alyzza & she explained the difference between wax & sugaring. I decided to try sugaring & actually liked it much better! I had a great experience, she did an amazing job & I am very happy! This will definitely be my new spot.

I’m so happy to have found Foxy Box. I had my eyebrows done this evening by Zenaida herself-​The best shaping I’ve had! Zenaida gave me a lot of excellent tips and showed/​explained to me what she was doing as she went which I really appreciated. I’m so pleased with the way my brows turned out along with the experience and service I received here. Definitely recommend! (: Also– I easily found a nearby parking space, which is a big deal in La Jolla.

I’m so glad I found this place ! I found an offer through groupon and decided to give this place a try. I had a really tight schedule to work with and I could say I was the biggest pain in the a** customer to deal with but zenaida was super informative and helpful to the max ! She went over many details with me and prior to my appointment she had sent me info to read over that I skimmed through to be quite honest being on a short time frame. I was always skeptical to try waxing because I would feel uncomfortable but I was wrong ! I will definitely be back for my next treatment I look forward to continuing sugar waxing.

First timer here! I have been absolutely reluctant to wax and was scared to death… I found Foxy Box online and after reading the reviews, finally decided to give it a go. Zenaida is a doll. Despite the circumstances, I couldn’t have been more comfortable. Pleasantly surprised with the service. A+

I was shopping on Groupon when I came across this place. Soon to be celebrating my birthday in Vegas, I thought it would be the perfect time to get my first Brazilian wax.
I went to Foxy box website to find out more about the company and what to expect. The website was great, especially for «first timers»! You can even schedule your appointment there. What I loved most was that Zenaida communicated with me via text. Working full time, it is much easier for me to text than to pick up a phone call.
At the time of my appointment, I finally met Zenaida and she was amazing! Super friendly, professional and made my first experience a great experience. I had both hard wax and sugaring done. She walked me through everything, gave recommendations and I felt very informed leaving. I will definitely be back!

Bought a Groupon deal for a Classic Brazilian Wax & booked my appointment online.
The day before my appointment, I texted the number provided in the appointment reminder email saying I had a Groupon voucher & that I would have my two babies with me. They were very understanding & only requested that I keep them in their stroller. Done!
Alyzza was very friendly, professional, & pretty damn efficient. The only thing I wish she’d done differently was tell me when to take DEEP breaths for those REALLY sensitive areas. But that’s my fault bc I could’ve asked her to do that & I didn’t bc I was too busy not breathing LOL.
I was handed a $ 25 card for next time & given a heads up about their upcoming Mother’s Day specials, so I don’t see why I wouldn’t use their services again — especially since they let me bring my kids!

Zenaida is an artist at her craft. It truly takes a gifted individual to make you comfortable being spread eagle, in all of your glory, within 5 minutes of meeting them. This was my first experience with sugaring, but I have had my share of Brazilians. I heard great things about sugaring and I found Foxy Box on groupon. I figured I’d give it a try… Well, I am SO GLAD I did because the experience was nothing short of life-​changing. I firmly believe Zenaida’s talent had much to do with the low level of pain I experienced but I believe sugaring is way less painful (compared to Brazilians). I am a sugar believer and have already referred all of my closest friends! Thanks for making my box foxy :).

I came here through groupon for my first sugar wax! This place wasn’t hard to find at all but street parking was difficult to find. I ended up parking in the resenditial area which is a block away. This area is very nice, I love this part of la jolla!
I was looking around the sola salon area for the right shop, and Alyzza saw me and directed me into her room!
She is very friendly and very informative. She talked to me through the whole thing and would be very supportive.
At the end of it, she didn’t need to pluck any remainders. Sugar waxing is the best for your skin, better than waxing. I highly recommend it. The whole process was at the most 15 minutes for a Brazilian wax.
Would definitely do it again!

Originally bought a groupon for two Brazilian waxes or two sugarings. My first appointment I planned on getting a wax because I had never had a sugaring before, but after talking to the esthetician about it I decided to give sugaring a try. She was fast and friendly and I noticed my hair grew back slower and more sparse in comparison to when I got waxed. $ 30 for students and military, I’ll definitely be a returning customer.

I’ve been coming to Foxy Box for well over a year now. Found this place through Groupon and I am beyond happy I stumbled across Zenaida. She is very sweet, professional and knowledgable. Now sugaring isn’t a PLEASANT process or feeling at all, but it is fast and by the time it’s over, I am always EXTREMELY satisfied with the results. I’ve had the honor of seeing Alyzza and she’s super friendly and professional as well! I don’t mind the scheduling process and having a credit card on file to book an appointment (that only keeps me accountable and ensures that I will not cancel short of 24 hours). I have definitely found my wax home at Foxy Box! Thank you for catering to my sensitive needs!

SO it was my absolute first Brazilian and it was pretty much painful and uncomfortable but I am so glad I got it done here.
First off even though my skin had been through a war it was perfect and soft and smelled nice. I have since tried one round of waxing and I was terribly disappointed with the results after having a sugaring done here. With the waxing my skin was bumpy and irritated, there were missed hairs, and tweezing had to be done which left some little red spots for a day. my skin had some unsmooth parts to my dismay. I had been spoiled by the perfection of my skin after sugaring at Foxy Box I guess! My mistake. I will certainly be back. The prices are good and in fact match waxing at the other place where I usually see sugaring costing more.
And, she was absolutely the sweetest about making me feel comfortable and peptalking me through the process. She offered great products too and did not give any pressure to buy anything. There was not one second where I felt like she was rolling her eyes at me for carrying on. I laughed nervously through the whole thing. i completely recommend her and this place. I wont be going anywhere else in the future for sure!!!

First of all, I love the name. But I love the services as well. This all started with a Groupon, and now I’m a regular. Alyzza is thorough while still managing to be pretty dang fast! My results are always perfect! She does my eyebrows and Brazilian sugaring. They are a salon inside a larger suite of salons, and although small, getting on the schedule is no problem! They offer great packages too. Alyzza is fun and pleasant to talk to, and she checks in with you during the more painful parts to make sure you are okay! I highly recommend booking an appointment with Alyzza. Gotta have a foxy box.

Bought a Groupon for sugar waxing with Zenaida. It was super easy to make an appointment with her and she worked with my schedule. Once at the establishment she made me feel comfortable and she is very friendly. It was my first time using sugar wax and I couldn’t have had a better experience. I am definitely coming back and she gained a lifelong customer. If you never tried sugar waxing I highly recommend your first experience to be with Zenaida.

I heard about sugaring from an acquaintance of mine a while ago and since I love trying out new things, I found a Groupon deal for two sugaring/​waxes.
First off, what a quirky name for a waxing place. I love it. Anywho, I had to schedule my sugaring online which was quick and easy. Getting to La Jolla was kinda difficult however because I scheduled my appointment around rush hour. –_​-​” That wasn’t good planning on my end because it took me almost 45 min when I could’ve gotten there in half the time.
When you arrive at Sola Salons, Foxy Box is just one of the many beauty businesses inside. It’s like a mini mall of back to back beauty stores.
Alyzza has serviced me both times I was there and she does offer you some wipes to freshen up if needed. The sugaring was the most painful kind of wax I’ve ever received. I will probably never do it again. Just the fact that she spread the wax *against* my hairs, ultimately tugging on it before actually ripping it off was extra unnecessary pain. I’m really good with pain and yet during that procedure, I felt like I had to take a break for the first time ever. All for what? The natural sugar wax? Lol I’ll go with the synthetic stuff any day just to make it less painful! It was seriously like slow torture and I was questioning my life choices during the whole thing lol. The second time, I opted for the strip wax. Definitely wasn’t as painful but I was disappointed that I didn’t have the option for the hard wax (which I usually do everywhere else.)
I know that many places have their different procedures and, like what another Unilocaler mentioned previously, she did not apply pressure to the just waxed area to alleviate pain. Every place I’ve been to does that and I was unpleasantly surprised when she didn’t. I think it would’ve greatly helped my first sugaring. The results of her waxes are okay. She does leave a few stray hairs and the second time she left a little bit of wax residue! Not good.
Overall, Foxy Box is okay. Would I go back? Most likely not.

I’ve had two appointments here both for a Brazilian sugar waxing. The first time I booked my appointment I was nervous and exciting because of the discussion I had amongst my co-​workers about the amazing difference the sugaring has compared to shaving. My co-​worker told the owner about my interest and gave her a $ 25 off coupon for me to use whenever I decided to come in for a wax. I thought that was really sweet of her.
I went in for my first appointment, boy was it painful. ! But the lady waxing was quick and talked me throughout the appointment. Afterwards she handed me another $ 25 off and told me it was for my next appointment. I thought maybe because I was in so much pain she felt bad for me haha. So fast forward to 3 weeks later I book my appointment on their website, which asks for a card # to secure your appointment and if you are a No-​Show they charge your card half of the service you request.
So I pull out my $ 25 off coupon at the end of my appointment that this same woman handed me at the end of my FIRST appointment and she totally declines it telling me it’s ONLY for first time customers and takes it from my hand and puts it in her apron when she was the one who GAVE it to me! At that moment I’m so dumbfounded because I know what she had said when she handed it to me after my first appointment. Whatever ! So I pay Full Price & I tell my co-​worker the next day what happened and she tells me she’s used 3 of those coupons with the same lady I had ! and they never declined any three of hers !
It’s upsetting that she told me it was for my next appointment and I book and then it gets declined. Even if I changed my mind my card still would’ve been charged $ 25 for leaving, after being mislead to book and show up just to be charged full price. Let alone I leave $ 10 tip on top of that so its not like I don’t appreciate the time. I just wish places didn’t take advance of having customers card #‘s on file and lure them to book and totally take back what they said and take the coupon out of my hand and basically tell me I’m crazy. Just BEWARE & ask questions before you go to your appointment your coupon may all of a sudden be invalid at the end of your appointment.

I had such a great experience my first time at a different place that I have converted from waxing to sugaring. I am new to the SD area so have been on the hunt to get my second sugar service done and found Foxy Box on Groupon. I was shocked to see how cheap it was! I checked out the website and Unilocal reviews and sounded like a sweet deal. Her Q&A is pretty funny and very informative. I prefer not to make an account with another booking service which requires you to have your CC on file, so I texted Zenaida for an appointment. She answered all my questions in regards to the difference between the Americana and Brazilian service (I wanted the «Americana», but the Groupon lists «Brazilian» sugaring) and was able to set up an appointment via-​text rather than the website service which was much more convenient.
The confirmation email gives you a lot of information! The email mentions that there is a 2.75% processing fee added for services over $ 20, so to avoid this I brought cash. At the end of my wax I was advised to purchase an exfoliator mitt. I have had other places recommend I purchase their products and am not keen on making purchases just because they tell me I should, but the mitt was less than $ 5 so I didn’t argue (I love it btw, so I’m super glad she tacked it on). The service and purchase were totaled together and I paid cash. I don’t know if it’s because she doesn’t have coin change on hand or what, she asked me if she could just round up for the total. No big deal, I’ll pay the extra some odd change so she doesn’t have to go around to scrounge up coin change somehow.
The service was okay. I like that she offers a wipe to «freshen» up before the service if needed. I understand every esthetician is different, and has different procedures. I am used to estheticians applying pressure to the area just sugared/​waxed to alleviate pain, but I did not get that here. I also prefer to be covered in the areas that are not being serviced. I understand the towel can be a nuisance by being in the way, so I try to not let myself be too uncomfortable by being fully out there. I requested a «thorough» wax on my information sheet, but felt like I received a «quick» service instead. I know, I know… I sound like a needy, snobby type of gal when it comes to sugaring/​waxing, but I’m sure I’m not the only one that has preferences when it comes to having their hooha serviced. These just happen to be mine, and I was not super impressed with the service here. But again, the service was not bad and for how much I paid for it, I still got a good deal! Glad everyone else has gotten fantastic experiences, but unfortunately I’ll have to continue my hunt.

I came across Foxy Box on Groupon and took a look online to check it out. I was sold based on reviews, the owner Zenaida’s kind and promt responses to my questions, their lovely website and the killer location in Bird Rock, La Jolla. In practice, fantastic. Now to see if the experience itself would measure up… when I arrived, I was greeted in the hall by the bright and bubby Alyzza. She was easy to talk to and full of information about waxing versus sugaring and what Foxy Box offered. I was immediately at ease. Of course, hair removal like this hurts, it is just par for the course. But Alyzza was a rock star, talked me through it and totally cheers you on along the way. Check them out — for real. Awesome customer service, great natural products in a great part of San Diego. A winning combo!

I was nervous to find a new wax salon after having the same girl for 5 years who I trusted. (I moved across state) Alisa was awesome, she made me feel very comfortable. She is knowledgeable and friendly. I’ll be back for sure!

Alyzza did a fantastic job! It was my first time sugaring with the Groupon deal, and the process went as smoothly as waxings can go. She was super friendly, efficient, professional, and made me feel very comfortable. I returned for a second time but forgot my coupon for a 25 $ wax, and she still gave me the discounted price. Recommended to all friends! :)
