I have been to other chiropractors before, but Dr Chang is by far the best. She is knowledgeable, professional and takes her time to make sure you leave her office feeling better and with plenty of guidance and tips on exercises you can do at home, nutrition and supplements. I highly recommended her!

Dr. Chang is always thoughtful in her care and treatment of patients both physically and emotionally. Her expertise helps meld Western and Eastern medicine philosophies in the best hybrid possible. La Jolla Shores is a beautiful location for her office and always a pleasure to be there. After more than 20 yrs of her support with my health, I give my highest recommendation of her services!

The very first time I went to see Dr. Chang she corrected a knee problem (turned out to be hip but felt like my knee?!) I had been living in pain for months. I’m so grateful for Dr. Chang and her expertise I highly recommend her.

I started seeing Dr. Chang in Oct 2015 because I was having hormonal issues/​abdominal pain. She was quick to take inventory of ALL kinds of information regarding my nutritional, sleeping, exercising, stress levels, BC history, and body alignment. It was clear from the get-​go that she is a very thorough thinker/​professional, which quite honestly I’ve never felt like I had a medical professional’s attention THAT much. I even made the comment when I got home that I’ve never been to a doctor that I felt cared that much before. She was able to get me on a game-​plan where I ditched hormonal BC, started eating more alkaline foods (apparently my body PH was really off and I never even knew to investigate or monitor that before) and she gave me a series of exercises to strengthen my lower region muscles that were giving me issues (and apparently those were hurting b/​c my body was out of line & again, I never thought to pay attention to how I was walking/​standing/​sleeping in particular ways). It is now late Jan of 2016 and I just had a follow-​up visit w/​her and it was amazing at how my «laundry list» of issues back in Oct, is now NADDA. I definitely took the full-​court-​press stance and was ready to try any/​and everything to see a change and boy, did I see/​feel one. I’m very thankful for her expertise and feel that every town would benefit if they had a local Dr. Chang :) Sidenote: I am now on a NATURAL BC called Daysy that Dr. Chang recommended and I feel AMAZING and have my body back. The fact doctor’s do not even OFFER it as an option is a true travesty to women’s health. I’m pretty bummed that I’m 32 and just now realizing it exists b/​c I just think of how I could have been feeling better years ago.

I have had wonderful, healing, therapeutic massages with both Sharon and Paulina. They are both very knowledgeable about sports related injuries and have helped identify and address the issues behind my hip pain. I will keep going back to Dr. Chang. Thank you!

I have been seeing Dr. Chang, Sharon, and Paulina for several months now. As all of the other reviews have already stated, Dr. Chang is great at fixing the root of your issues. I originally went in for knee issues from running only to realize how imbalanced my right and left sides were. After I started doing the suggested exercises, my knee pain instantly went away. This was after I spent a lot of time in physical therapy with doctors and therapists telling me to just do more foam rolling (even though I was already doing it everyday).
I was also recently in a bad car accident. Dr. Chang not only helped me physically but also mentally. Her therapy helped me ‘reset’ my brain to get over my fear and anxiety of driving or being in a car again. For this, I am forever grateful.
Lastly, both Sharon and Paulina are wonderful massage therapists. They target areas that need special attention and leave you feeling healthier and happier than before. I used to have a membership at Massage Envy, and these massages are above and beyond those canned massages, since the therapists actually care about you and get to know you and your needs here.
Anyone who comes here is guaranteed to have a truly healing experience as long as you are open to it!

Dr. Chang helped my husband and I so much! I was a client of Dr. Chang before I moved to Indiana in 2009. We returned to San Diego for vacation and she was able to work us in. Dr. Chang is very specific in her treatments and able to identify and correct the source of pain. She spends time educating us on proper exercise to help cure the condition and pays attention to our overall health and medical symptoms. She gives great advise to help us lead a healthy life style and prevent future illness or injury. We will continue to use Dr. Chang when we return to San Diego again.

You’ll be able to spend time on the beach next to the office and relax; really begin to let go of that tension. Then, head up to get a very soothing massage for a while.
My experience was with Sharon. I mentioned a particular spot that constantly has knots. She expertly opened up my joints, massaged around the area, and placed pressure in a few surrounding areas. It never hurt, not even once. So, I thought it wasn’t going to work. Little did I know. I ended up very relaxed, big smile on my face, and the pain vanished!

Sharon gave me a wonderful massage while we were visiting La Jolla Shores. She’s more than a massage therapist… perhaps it’s because she’s received significant training from chiropractors? I have been a patient of Dr. Chang since 2002 when we met on the set of «Dark Blue» a movie with Kurt Russell. We were both working as Stunt Performers (Olivia was getting shot in the chest and I was getting shot in the back).
Olivia is very knowledgeable about the needs of a person’s body and enjoys educating her patients on how to create the mind, body, spirit connection. She also incorporates herbs and supplements necessary to strengthen your body which ultimately computes to healthy and pain free living, a goal we all would like to achieve. In addition, she encourages and motivates her patients to continue their maintenance at home.
In 2004 I was working on the set of the movie «Collateral» starring Tom Cruise and who do I see coming out of the makeup/​hair trailer but Dr. Olivia Chang (what a nice surprise). We worked about 2 weeks dancing and dodging bullets in the night club scene. There were about 30 stunt people working in that scene and since many of them knew that Olivia was a Chiropractor therefore she was able to provide adjustments to the crew to offset the long hours we had to work.
Dr. Chang is very patient and will take the necessary time to explain anything you don’t understand. She cares about what she can do to help her patients succeed with their health. Trust me she won’t steer you wrong.

My wife has been a friend and client of Olivia’s so I started going to her for treatment. My first chiropractor impressed on me that the old ways are the best ways. Dr. Olivia Chang is very knowledgeable and skillful when it comes to chiropractic bodywork. I am impressed! Her masseuse Sharon is equally adept at their skills as well. Sharon is from Oahu and my wife likes to talk about «home» every now and then. Before I started going I didn’t start till she opened up her new office and to new clients. Don’t let her petite size fool you! She is that good!

I have been seeing Dr. Chang on and off for the past 20 years. She is an amazing Chiropractor. I always feel great after being adjusted.

Over the years I have been to several chiropractors. I thought my last chiropractor was the best until I started going to Dr. Chang. Not only does she understand the body, she wants to help heal your body to it full potential. She doesn’t try to sell you packages and products that you don’t need. She also is very reasonably priced! There are not many places I HIGHLY recommend, although Dr. Chang Health I do!

I’ve been having hip issues for a long time now. I had decided to do something about it once it was preventing me to sleep. The first time i went to her gave me immediate relief. No pain! It was crazy. I’ve gone to chiropractors in the past but with not much luck.
She looked at my whole body, not just the location of pain. She worked with me to adjust the position of my seat in my car (as i do a lot of driving) and provided me exercises to work on at home to strengthen the muscles around the issue. That coupled with a massage after the adjustment makes Dr Chang the best chiropractor I’ve ever experienced. The adjustment realigns your body and the massage helps to relax the muscles so that they don’t pull your body out of alignment again. Brilliant! She also helped me understand what was happening and why so that I can make changes and adjustments myself.

I have been a patient of Dr. Chang for over 10 years. She is a gifted and caring chiropractor and health advisor. She got me into the habit of drinking more water and I all the better for it.
I was excited to see she expanded her business to include massage. I have had the good fortune to see both Chris and Paulina. They are both very caring and have therapeutic and relaxing techniques. You will be in good hands with either of them.
Not only is Dr. Chang and the massage great services but at the prices they offer them, it is a steal!
I usually do not give out 5 stars but they truly deserve it.
Also want to add that my daughter and I were in a car accident this summer and both experienced bad whiplash and lower back pain. We were able to see her the same day and with her care and the massages I am happy to report that we are 100%.

I can’t say or recommend Dr. Chang highly enough to do her justice! Her ability to know just where you need help, is amazing! Her staff is terrific as well — and recommend a massage — (oh how good I felt) ! Do try them out — you won’t be disappointed!!!

I have been going to Dr. Chang since she opened her first office in San Diego’s Gaslamp then followed her to her Claremont office and now fly in from Northern Virginia to see her at her La Jolla office. She has often advised me to slow down and has shared with me how stress can affect our bodies. I have also brought my daughter in when she was young being concerned that her heavy book pack was affecting her back and posture. Now that she is an adult, she goes in on her own.
Recently, my torn meniscus and torn ligament in my right ankle is bringing me back from the East Coast to see her. (I am returning to San Diego next month for more treatments). I also had an issue with feeling like I was swaying back and forth. I have fallen a few times and was concerned. She explained to me about how our mind needs to be trained. She has worked out the scar tissue on both my knee and ankle and prescribed exercises for balance and strengthening. After a little over a month, I have already seen results. Whenever my knee starts to bother me, I do the exercise that she recommended for me to that I do two to three times a day and the pain goes away. My balance is getting better too.
Dr. Olivia Chang’s treatments also included therapeutic massages by Paulina. Paulina is fantastic and reinforces what Dr. Chang is teaching me regarding my knee and ankle. Her massages help with the scar tissue can be relaxing while therapeutic. She worked on my neck area as per Dr. Chang and relieved knots and tension there that I did not know that I carried. I have not had the opportunity to try Cris’ Thai massage yet but from what I heard from another patient, he was excellent.
I would highly recommend Dr. Olivia Chang and her outstanding staff. They truly care about our well being and make their services extremely affordable. I don’t know any doctor that would charge such a nominal fee for their work. It seems like it is Dr. Chang’s mission to help improve the lives of others. She is well respected not only in the San Diego community but also in the Sports and Hollywood communities. As a doctor to many athletes, sports teams, and Hollywood stunt people and stars she is highly regarded for producing results. It is no wonder her patients are willing to travel to see her.

Added Note: I was skeptical at first with the Red Ruby massage chair as I have experienced what I thought was the best in Japan. While waiting for my adjustment, I decided to try out Red Ruby… I was impressed! It felt like a human was massaging out my kinks. The smart chair has sensors and works on troubled areas… ahh technology! Great in combination with the expertise of Dr. Chang.

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Chang for about 20 years and appreciate her caring and professional approach. She is strong and capable and has a unique ability to find and correct the source of pain and has come to my rescue many times. I feel listened to and understood whenever I seek her help for injuries, nutritional counseling, or simply health maintenance.
