Dance to EvOLvE is a mobile dance company that has been inspiring and motivating kids to dance since 2008! Our initial goal was to form captivating, high-​quality connections with the local community in our multiple convenient locations and ever since then, we have been creating heartwarming smiles everywhere.

Brittany has 20+ years of teaching experience and creates a positive and dynamic dance class, combined with heartfelt energy, excitement, and a love for teaching. She believes it is the teacher who makes the difference — each one is carefully chosen by their experience, passion, professionalism, and bubbliness! The small student ratios, curriculum goals, and ongoing teacher trainings create our progressive and age appropriate classes. All of this ensures that your dancer is placed in the best learning environment and the best hands possible.

Our talented teachers create welcoming classes that balance learning with fun so that our dancers are always improving with a smile and a giggle! Fun props and creative imagery add to the nonstop class energy that you don’t want to miss!

This is probably the best and most convenient kids dance studio in San Diego!
My daughter has been taking tap and ballet with Dance To EvOLvE since she was 2. It was a little tricky finding a dance studio that started that young, but DTE even has Mommy and Me classes starting at 18 months! The teachers are great. They are patient and fun, and make learning dance an exciting and positive experience. They let parents come watch class once per month (for the older kids) and do fun things like a mini Christmas recital in class in costumes, and inviting the kids to wear costumes to class at Halloween. My daughter’s favorite thing is the dance party at the end of class :)
They have a one big recital per year and you only have to pay for the costume (which you get to keep). There are no additional fees or anything which makes it really affordable. They also have locations all over San Diego which makes it convenient. So far, we have been to 3 different locations for classes just depending on what is going on in our lives. My son is really interested in the Hip Hop classes, so we may have to give those a try one day soon. They offer trial classes so we may be signing up for my son to try one.

When I originally signed up to take my daughter to this dance class, I thought it would be a good experience. The class was good as well as the dance instructor. However, I was disappointed that not only did they allow me to do a trial class but my toddler was thrust in a classroom full of toddlers doing a dance recital. The instructor, ms Kristen, advised that they were rehearsing for a dance recital and that my daughter would be better for the July class. Really!!! Why schedule me? First of all, how rude. She just walked away after telling me this. After the class, I wanted some pricing information, and was told to just go online. This is so unprofessional. I’ll be taking my business elsewhere. This was beyond disappointing.

This dance studio in San Diego is really kid friendly. The teachers are incredibly kind and they seem like they are very happy to be there. I gave this company 5 stars because not only is it easy to sign up for a class online and the teachers are fun, but it seems as if the company as a whole is really knowledgeable about how kids of all ages learn and develop motor skills. I’d highly recommend this dance studio to anyone in San Diego.

We love Dance to Evolve! We started at the Scripps Ranch Rec Center location in the Magical Munchkins class when my daughter was two. It was so hard to find a class for that age, and this one was perfect. Super fun and quick pace to keep their attention, my daughter loved it. She has now been going non-​stop (just took 2 months off for summer) and she looks forward to it every week (as do I)! She has now moved up to the Star Shiners class, and is learning a lot. She loves practicing her moves at home. If you are looking for a non-​competitive and fun environment to learn dance, this is a great option.

I enrolled my daughter in a tap/​ballet class through our community rec center. The instructors with Dance to Evolve provided age-​appropriate direction for the children, and kept it fun and engaging for the hour-​long class! My daughter absolutely loved class. I’ll definitely be signing her up for the next semester.

I saw a review of Evolve come up in my Unilocal feed and decided to give it a try. Signing up for a free class was very easy. My daughter is 2.5 and we did a trial of the ballet/​tap class and it was exactly what I was looking for! Short (45min), simple and fun! Ms. Sara her teacher was absolutely wonderful! She is bright, sweet, encouraging yet strict. All the girls were having a great time and danced to frozen songs. If you’re looking for a hard core competitive dance class for your child this is not for you but if you want something easy and fun then sign up for a free trial class! Prices are very reasonable too!

Our kids love their dance lessons at Dance To Evolve. Their multiple locations and schedules are very convenient. Very thankful for their make up class policy since we get a lot of colds around this house. We’ve had Miss Sarah, Miss B and Miss Ting. And they all have been very professional (in my view amazingly patient dealing with not compliant toddlers), our kids love them!
The optional recital was awesome! We loved it! So cute! It was very well planned and everything was on time. I think since they have so many locations they divide it into different shows so you DON’T have to sit through an extremely long show to see your kid. Parents can volunteer to help out and get discounts for the show.
The staff has been very nice as well. When registering we had trouble with the online site and Ms Catlin was very helpful and courteous on the phone.
So far thumbs up for DTE.

I rarely write reviews, but I feel I should give parents some warning on dealing with DTE. The classes have been fine for my 3 year old and they offer convenient times and locations; however, their business practices are horrible. I have signed up for a few sessions here and there over the past couple years and had problems every time. From being charged twice for the same session, to now being told that they are auto-​enrolling my child for the next 25 week session and charging my credit card almost $ 400, which I have NOT authorized. The classes have gotten more and more expensive and DTE wants parents to «lock in» their rates as part of their «loyalty program» by continuing to enroll every session. I complained about the 25 week session and was told to look at week day classes if I wanted less expensive and shorter sessions. Maybe DTE doesn’t realize that most of us sitting there on Saturdays work during the week and can’t do week day classes (including «make up» classes if you miss a Saturday class), or that a 3 year old may want to try another activity in the next 6 months. I was also told the 25 week session is to «prepare» dancers for the recital in June, which is fine, but plan on paying for a costume, tickets, photos and video (since parents are not allowed to take pictures or videos). I know this is pretty standard, but their recital fees are pretty expensive compared to other places I’ve checked. I don’t know, maybe I don’t take this dance thing seriously enough for a 3 year old to spend the time or money on something that is supposed to be fun (this is supposed to be fun, right?). Sorry, DTE, I really hope you get your business practices up to speed with the classes themselves and provide parents with younger dancers more reasonable options.

We first discovered Dance to Evolve through a free dance program they put on at the local library. Since then, my daughter has been taking a Tiny Movers class for almost a year now (tap/​ballet combo) and she absolutely loves it! Miss Amy is an AWESOME teacher! She is very knowledgeable about dance and makes the classes fun, age-​appropriate, and encouraging for the kids. We’ve done a few makeup classes also and all the other teachers we encountered were so friendly, professional, and great with the kids. The company makeup policy is very flexible, which was so helpful when we had to miss class due to illness or travel. My daughter recently participated in her first recital and it was SO GREAT! The teachers did an incredible job preparing for a quality show. The dances were eclectic, the costumes were top-​notch, the price was reasonable, and the kids seemed to have a great time! Overall, we have LOVED our experience with Dance to Evolve and plan to continue classes this summer and fall and beyond. We highly recommend this company if you’re looking for dance classes for your child!

Tried a few dance studios and classes and this is the one I like best by far.
It’s not that I’m fussy, It’s just that I wanted a high quality but low maintenance dance class and it appears that it’s hard to find… until I found Evolve.
No fancy explanation of what they do, they are just really good at it and provide a quality class without all the (insert insanity here). Their teachers are exceptional and actually really seem to care about each individual child!

My 3 year old daughter takes the Tiny Movers class (tap and ballet) with Miss Jenny and she is fantastic with the children. Not only does she make it fun but she also teaches a lot of dance technique. Couldn’t ask for a better dance teacher and a better dance company than Dance to Evolve.
