You have to have your wedding here!!! The food is hands down the best (Abbey Catering) — I had a ton of special requests (vegan, GF, add a fruit bar, etc.), which they totally welcomed, and did everything exceptionally well. I couldn’t have asked for a better «team» to work with: Jack, Megan and Petr; they went above and beyond to ensure our day was absolutely perfect — which it was. My mom is secretly hoping my younger sister will want to get married here because our experience with them was that great :-)

I recently had my wedding at the Cuvier club. I couldn’t of asked for a better place the staff was amazing the food was delicious and the venue was impeccable! Our service team was on point and everything I could’ve imagined Frederico really took care of us and made sure he was everyone was the best they can be.
Megan Lessert made our day so beautiful. She was always there she was always making sure everything was going perfect for us it was such a great experience. She was so helpful and just has such a big heart to go along with it I would highly recommend this venue. From start to finish everything ran smooth. We can’t thank you all enough for all your hard work and dedication to making our wedding the most amazing day of our lives!

I can’t give them more than FIVE STARS, I wish I could, because they earned it for my Daughter’s Wedding this past week. Everything, I mean EVERYTHING, from when we first paid the deposit months ago, to the Rehearsal Dinner, to the ceremony itself, was perfect. The two that my daughter worked with most, Megan and PETR were great. Although I didn’t deal with Megan, PETR, on the two days I dealt with him, was just amazing… And the food, FIVE STAR RESTAURANT quality. Many guests told me how good the food was and the venue was. If I lived in the area, I would do any event I could here, and I encourage others to do that.
No issues came up during the rehearsal dinner, or the wedding itself– Great job Cuvier Club and Abbey CateringTeam!!!

My husband and I had the most perfect wedding at the Cuvier Club! We were married this last weekend in August, and from start to finish Abbey Catering and Events made this a positive and memorable experience that we will never forget. We met Jack and Robert first who were very attentive in helping us seal the deal at this venue for 220 people.
Then we met Megan, and it had reaffirmed that we made the right choice for our wedding venue. Big thank you to Megan for your guidance and advice throughout our 10 months of planning!
Not only do they have a fabulous venue space with indoor and outdoor space for the ceremony and reception, but they also had a fabulous vendor list and package that made it so easy to plan our wedding! With our videographer Tareq with time code media, our day of coordinator Petr Trebin, dilanattas photography, Abbey catering, our dj glasz productions, yummy cupcakes, artquest flowers all in one package, my husband and I could focus more on the details of the day.
We also loved that this venue was a blank slate and it allowed us to make our wedding day special and unique to our taste. Abbey Catering also has an option to add a photobooth, and cigar rolling table which were fabulous!
Thank you to all of the above and especially Petr for his wonderful execution of our event and attention to detail! Our day was absolutely perfect! All of our guest loved the food, and the serving staff was excellent! Thank you to all of you for making our wedding day amazing!

The outdoor area where the wedding took place was beautiful. However, the reception was inside in a hall with a stage, which is stuffy for my style. You could decorate all you want to make it your style, but if you are looking for a venue that is more open and airy… This isn’t your place. Also, parking wasn’t the best, as it was all street parking.

My husband and I just got married a couple weeks ago at the Cuvier Club and it was perfect! I am a local wedding and special events coordinator and had the choice of many beautiful venues in San Diego, but fell in love with the Cuvier Club. We loved the fact that the venue was a blank canvas. We were able to transform the space and it turned out stunning. We absolutely LOVED the ceremony space surrounded by the vibrant Bougainvillea. In addition, the location was in the heart of La Jolla and in walking distance to out hotel (The Empress), saving money on transportation. Most importantly, the staff was on point. The owners were beyond accommodating, our sales manager Jessie gave us a great deal with tons of extra perks and our banquet captain Federico was PHENOMENAL. He was communicative, comforting and a hard worker. We couldn’t have been more pleased with our wedding venue choice.

I love the Cuvier Club. Me and my husband got married there at the end of April and it was absolutely perfect. When you are planning a wedding everyone tells you that on the day of the wedding something will inevitably go wrong and to just go with the flow. I was waiting for the one thing to go wrong that day and it NEVER happened! This is because the entire staff at the Cuvier Club, especially Petr and Zapher, do everything in their power to make your day absolutely perfect. And that is exactly what you get. Their attention to detail is impeccable. It truly was the greatest day of our lives and I would recommend this venue and their staff to anyone who is looking for a perfect wedding day!

I’ve had two of my previous reviews removed for this place, and no idea why, as it was detailed and much more thorough than some of the ones here. So let’s go for round three!
Came here for a wedding reception which is what this place is known for. It’s nice and quaint, but a bit on the smaller side. So if you’re regulating who can come to your wedding this is the place. There is also a stage in the back, which is kinda weird as it makes you feel like you’re in a school gym.
What is really strange about the reception was that we got our dinner they made us walk up and get it instead of being served. No, it wasn’t a buffet, picking up dish. I knew something was wrong when the fattest guy at the wedding had the same serving as everyone else.
It’s a nice little venue, but truly nothing special. Didn’t win me over and didn’t make want to have a wedding here.

Beautiful place for our wedding, last June. Feddie was Amazing in every which way possible! I didn’t need or worry about a thing, from the cocktail hour, ceremony, and dinner. He did it all, their was no wedding planner, it was Perfect! Thanks Feddie for an AMAZING job! Thanks to everyone involved, you guys made it Truly Amazing!

Kris, my husband, and I were engaged in late February of 2014 and wanted to get married in October when San Diego is still warm for all of our guests to enjoy the beach. We began contacting venues right away. We are both from outside of San Diego and wanted a location where we could have more than 200 people if they could join us, but that was still close to the beach and reasonably priced. Cuvier Club was one of the few places that could hold our number of people. So that was the first plus. We went in to see the location and meet with Robert and the in-​house catering team, The Abbey Catering & Event Design.
Robert had been very helpful on the phone walking me through different scenarios and options. He was just as great in person. The outside area has a beautiful gate surrounding it with bougainvillea. For the reception, we brought in string lighting and Farmhouse/​Wine Country style seating to the area for the cocktail reception (All using Farm Tables & More).
The inside space was very clean and well-​kept. It was perfect to be able to make the space what I wanted and envisioned.
After we put our deposit down and decided to choose the Cuvier Club, we were introduced to Megan. She was great in answering questions and helping us make sure everything went smooth. It was really easy and turnkey to have the catering in-​house. The tastings were all amazing and we had a great experience with all of the options we tried.
As we prepared for our wedding night and reception, everything seemed to go really well. We had a few meetings and were up to speed. When I arrived everything looked beautiful. The catering and night of staff all were great. The whole night ran according to plan and went wonderfully. I could not have asked for anything more!
I would highly recommend the Cuvier Club and working with their team and Abbey Catering.

Great place to have a party or wedding in the La Jolla area. Wonderful and great staff that served a delicious plate for my friends wedding. They partnered up the abbey catering and man, things went off and were flawless.
Fun and beautiful venue very close to the beach… Only downfall is the area for the wedding ceremony is located right next to the street, so be sure if you have someone speaking, they are on a mic!!!

Last month the wife and I went to a Halloween Party here… it was AWESOME!!!

I’ve had the pleasure of attending a few different soirees at the Cuvier Club over the years, and it’s a beautiful venue for any occasion. Zapher and The Abbey Catering & Event Company really know how to throw a party! From the moment guests are greeted with a glass of champagne on arrival to friendly and quick bar service (a must at any event) on the lovely patio and the grand room inside, they really know how to make an event special.
I attended a lovely Christmas party here and a 70s themed Halloween Party where they had a light-​up disco floor installed (touch-​screen no less, so that when you stepped on the tiles they changed colors!) and they had amazing ice sculptures and Saturday Night Fever playing on the big wall in the background. They really think about every detail and making it an exceptional event for every guest. Chun P. and I are already married — but we’re going to have one heck of an anniversary party here someday!

Here for Halloween event and it looks great ! I am a Marketing Director myself and would definitely consider using for a venue in the future

Best club ever!!! We went here do Halloween and the catering was phenomenal. Definitely recommend.

So we came here for the Halloween party and we had such a blast! We were invited by a friend and it was a blast. Getting limo up here and taken home after was the big kicker. The venue is amazing and huge and there are so many good people that were there and also the stuff was on point to help anyone out when needed. Great place to be! Def visit!

Me and my husband had our wedding at Cuvier Club this June. They were soooo nice and accommodating. We later hired Petr as our coordinator to complete the finishing touches and take some of the stress off of us during planning and day of. Petr and Meghan are the BEST! I have absolutely no complaints about them and the rest of the Cuvier staff. They went above and beyond. My original wedding arch flopped at the last minute (day of wedding) so Petr used the venues arch and made it so beautiful. He is so attentive and kept checking on my and my husband and tended to our guests. The catering staff from the abbey were so friendly and on point with their dishes. They kept our appetizers going around to our guests and champagne glasses filled. Petr will show you that he can be very professional and down to earth at the same time. He truly loves what he does.

Oh my goodness where to start!!! This was the 1^st place I looked at and the only place I looked at! Matt lured me in and I put down the deposit the next day (before I was even engaged mind you). They really worked their booties off to make me the happiest bride ever! I did the all inclusive wedding package and I’m glad I did. The give you a list of vendors for everything you can imagine and you pick from that. They pretty much handle everything else, coordination with vendors, meetings, time of delivery… everything everything everything.
There were a couple teensy hiccups along the way, but nothing they didn’t handle professionally and quickly. I’d like to think I was a low maintenance bride but I don’t think that would be an accurate statement… haha. Every staff member I worked with answered my 600,000 questions promptly and professionally. I probably called and emailed at least a few time a week for almost a year. And the week or 2 before the wedding… ummm…well lets just say they rock!
Now, let me give a special shout out to Megan L, my new favorite person in the world. She was my contact person in the beginning for general questions and the food tasting. About 1 month before the wedding date they assigned me a coordinator but due to unforeseen circumstances Megan ended up being my day of coordinator. But man oh man, am I glad I ended up with her. She knows what’s what in the world of even planning. She along with everyone else there genuinely cared so much about making my day effortlessly beautiful! I felt like they were all my long time friends! Honestly there wasn’t 1 single thing that went wrong (at least to my knowledge). My wedding went off without a hitch and I owe it all to her and the Abbey team. The captain Merta also deserves a special shout out as she was amazing and very helpful the day of as well.
Then there’s the food… Abbey catered it all and OH MY GOODNESS. 5 star all the way. I had tri-​tip with gorgonzola sauce and a bruschetta chicken aside cream cheese mashed potatoes and veggies. There are no words because delicious doesn’t even cut it. They also were able to accommodate vegans (and vegetarians obviously) with delicious dinners.
5 star service, beautiful venue, amazing food and very organized. Love love love them all.
