Assisting Hands of San Diego helps those suffering from the effects of old age, dementia or physical disabilities by providing them with the non-​medical assistance needed to remain independent, safe and comfortable in their own homes.

History

Established in 1996.

The founder of Assisting Hands is Dr. Gail Silverstein, who has more than 25 years of experience coordinating and leading health care programs in both the public and private sector. It was Gail’s understanding of the health care industry, along with the personal experience of trying to find assistance for her father at home, that led her to realize there was a serious gap in services. Out of this need, Assisting Hands was launched 17 years ago to provide a better alternative for the elderly, disabled and others needing extra support and assistance to stay home!

Business Owner

Through his volunteer work with San Diego Hospice, Chuck saw the need for in home care for people suffering from dementia, cancer and other disabilities, and was inspired to open the Assisting Hands office serving the San Diego area. Previously he practiced law representing the underprivileged and other wrongfully damaged individuals in court helping them to recover what they suffered.
