Your Family’s CFO
Holding your accountant accountable, keeping your estate attorney attuned, ensuring your insurance broker is on board, and keeping your money manager on-the-money.
Whether we’re talking about your relationship with each of your trusted professionals, or their relationship with each other, there’s almost never perfect alignment. In fact, many call their advice ‘broken’ simply because they’re not talking to each other.
Aligned brings alignment, and deliverables, to the equation: 143 checkpoints to make sure your team is on-target for you. Aligned makes sure all decisions and implementations on your behalf remain in sync with your goals, whether that relates to free time, retirement, college funds, leisure activities or anything else.
It’s all about bringing accountability to the client-advisor relationship. «I’m enjoying building a tradition of challenging tradition in the financial services industry,» says Aligned principal Jonathan Moffat.
History
Established in 2013.
With the old model, you’re responsible for vetting, then implementing, each professional’s advice — accurately, and in a timely fashion. Furthermore, you’re also responsible for revisiting the situation any time there’s a change in your life, or in the law.
With the new model, savvy investors outsource this financial quarterbacking. An Aligned advisor is proactive, and coordinates everything as your liaison to all of the professionals entrusted with your financial life, making sure all of your goals are implemented for your benefit.
Meet the Business Owner
Jonathan M.
Business Owner
Jonathan Moffat came to the world of wealth management with a very personal history. From a young age he saw his grandfather enjoy great business success, and later, lose virtually all of his wealth due to poorly coordinated advice. This experience sparked Moffat’s father’s passion for the industry, as well as Moffat’s own. (The elder Moffat, Clark, is a well-respected CFP and educator in southern California).
Moffat partnered in his father’s financial planning practice, Moffat Financial Group, after several years working in the retirement planning industry, and he was instrumental in the firm’s selection by San Diego Magazine as a Five Star Wealth Manager. He later helped take the firm to the next level by building an industry-specific division focusing on the dentist community. This division, DDS Strategies Group, attracted a core of savvy dentists that appreciated business and marketing input, above and beyond the financial planning input.
