History

Established in 2004.

Established in 2004 Coastside Spas has recently relocated to La Honda from Pacifica. While the move is farther from our original service area of Half Moon Bay and Pacifica, we continue to service those areas on a regular basis. We have been involved in computer support service since 1987, building on years of on-​hands field experience and training. The original business was started in Carlsbad, New Mexico, servicing approximately 200 mile radius, providing service, repair, maintenance, equipment installations and upgrades and factory warranty service for many major name brand manufacturers. We look forward to many more years of service to the local communities around the Peninsula.

He’s very professional, prompt and reasonably priced. And he spent the time to explain everything — for this DIY’er it was much appreciated. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Coastside Services!

I’ve had Charles help me a few times with some computer issues — computer completely died… he saved the info on my hard drive and offered to put it on my new computer. I had issues with downloading work remote connection and he spent almost an hour helping me remotely. He’s been able to solve A L L of my problems. He is responsive, very fair, professional, and EXTREMELY helpful. I am sure I will be back and I will happily use him.

I contacted Coastside Consulting over email and he responded within minutes, which is not the same I can say from other Companies I contacted at the same time and still waiting for a call back.
I upgraded my HP laptop to windows 8, which turned out to be a huge mistake and disappointment. The only way to get back to windows 7, I was explained, is by doing a complete recovery, wiping out everything and starting over.
This is my work and personal computer with tons of business files, pictures, etc. I was devastated! — despite of having a back up starting over on a computer and expecting your outlook files to be exactly where you have them is no small task for me. But with the help of Charles from Coastside Consulting it was sooo easy. He accessed my computer remotely so I didn’t even have to drop it off and miss days of work on it.
Charles was so easy to work with and his pricing is more than reasonable. I’m so happy I have found you. I will never fear my computer again. Even though I’m a small business I feel happy I found my own tech department. Thank you so much!

Charles gets five stars for the following reasons:
* Prompt service. I called him after hours on a Sunday evening (my PC would not boot up). He said to bring it right over (he lives less than two blocks from me). The PC was ready for pick up the NEXT DAY.
* Providing educational information. He taught me a great deal about why some systems work better than others, which software talks a good game but doesn’t do as much as one might believe, how to run a cleaner once/​month, and provided a step-​by-​step guide for re-​installing my printer.
* Price. Charles capped his (already reasonable) price at two hours (he charges per hour), and I agreed. He ended up taking MUCH more time, but true to his word, he did not charge extra.
* Perfectionism. This guy leaves no stone unturned and will fix EVERYTHING humanly possible in order to get your system working at optimal performance.
* Propellerhead. This man KNOWS HIS STUFF inside-​out, upside-​down, forwards, backwards, and sideways. Don’t be mistaken, though, he is a very personable fellow who educates his customers about systems and software in a very down-​to-​earth, storytelling fashion.
* He ENJOYS his work (okay, that’s an EXTRA star!). It’s obvious that Charles has fun applying his BEYOND amazing critical thinking and problem solving skills in order to provide the best possible I/​T service to his customers.

A few weeks ago I had my first major computer issue and my trusty little laptop stopped working completely. As a nursing student, I RELY on my computer for just about everything and needed to fix it, stat. After looking at Geek Squad’s prices (outrageous) I decided it would be better to support a smaller, local business anyway. I turned to Unilocal and found Coastside consulting.
Charles definitely exceeded my expectations with the service he provided. He was very prompt in getting back to me, very accommodating as far as offering to come to my house or bring my computer to his, and the service was extremely fast once I got my computer to him. He was great at explaining everything he was doing and how to use the new antivirus/​antimalware software (that I should have had to begin with).
Not only did his service exceed my expectations, his prices were very reasonable for the level of service he provided. I will be going back for sure!!! Help support your local computer man and do yourself a favor by taking your computer to Charles for repair.

I wish I could put 10 stars next to this business. My dealings with Charles and my computer problems have been nothing less than stellar. Charles will talk to you about every possible angle of approaching a repair, and even offer you a few you didn’t think of. I took advantage of the latter and have no regrets. Charles is patient and it becomes obvious he has picked the right field of advising on computer issues. He is a brilliant man. He will do what he can over the phone, and be very realistic about what he needs to do in person. Every single dollar you pay him will be well earned. You will walk away with working computers with problems solved. I highly recommend this nice man.
