Welcome to Through the Garden Gate, a fine home furnishings boutique specializing in Old World design and Mediterranean influence.

History

Established in 1992.

Our original store specialized in home furnishings, home accessories, and interior design. In 2001 we opened a second store, a boutique called Through The Garden Gate Too. There was a selection of handbags, scented candles, jewelry, designer clothing, fragrances & other accessories for men and women.

In February 2009 a decision was made to merge the two stores. This change allowed us to bring furniture and home accessories into the larger store that has ample parking. We are now Through The Garden Gate, a shopping destination worth the trip.

The store is arranged in vignettes. Each section features alike items, complimenting each other. We have framed art, custom embellished bibles and crosses, frames, and an array of candles. These items are graciously grouped on fine furniture, including buffets, coffee tables, and fireplace mantles. Handbags & jewelry are still available & make great gifts.

We are now able to concentrate on the interior design portion of our business.

Our staff is busy in the mornings baking fresh cookies and adding new merchandise before the store opens. We pride ourselves on a friendly atmosphere and accommodating requests to the best of our ability.

Our associates are familiar with all of the products we carry in the store and can also assist with any questions regarding our Interior Design services.

A great place to find gifts and treasures! I have been coming here for about 8 years. The owner did a custom frame and picture for me several years ago and it still on my wall till this day. I especially love this gift store during the Holidays!

Love this place ! The store is so nice to walk into and is great for decorating inspiration year round and especially the holidays. Owners are wonderful to work with and the staff (Debbi and Emma) are so helpful. I will miss coming into this store as I am moving out of state. It’s home décor, furniture, great smelling candles, so much more. For the holidays, the store showcases beautifully decorated themed Christmas trees. Every year the store seems more beautiful than the last. they have the most beautiful rolls of ribbon to use for gift wrap that I have ever seen! Its the kind of place where you can pick up a nice gift for somebody you don’t know, and at the same time grab a gift for your best friend. This place will have something fab for all ages and interests.

It had been years since we shopped at Through the Garden Gate until this week. It was so nice to see nothing had changed! They still have fantastic candles, furniture and accessories for your home. There is no place other than TTGG I would go for things for the home. The employees and owners make you feel welcome as soon as you walk in the door.

Love this store! It has it all accessories, gifts, furniture and if they don’t have it in the store they will be happy to help you find it. Staff is always helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend, and especially go see it at Christmas it’s beautiful.

This store is so amazing! Everything in the store is beautiful and I always have such a hard time deciding what I’m going to buy because I want everything!!! The entire staff is so kind. The owners Tony and Steve are the best. They have impeccable taste and can find you anything you want or need. It’s a distance away from my house but totally worth the drive. Can’t wait for my next visit!

I have been a customer at Through The Garden Gate since they were at there other location down the street. They once had such beautiful merchandise at reasonable prices. Since then their prices have gotten progressively higher and their customer service has gotten progressively worse. Every now and then I stop in just to see if they have anything I like but lately they add «Bling» to Everything. It makes their products look cheap. Not my cup of tea. I recently saw a picture frame I purchased somewhere else for $ 45. They were selling it for $ 185.00. I’m not sure I will be returning. Their mark up is ridiculous.

I love this store! It is on the pricey side but I make a trip in there every time I eat at El Cholo next door (also a favorite). Great gifts for your girlfriends and somehow I always manage to buy myself something, too. They do a very nice gift wrap also so you walk out the door ready for the party :-)

If you live in the La Habra — WHittier area, then you’ve probably been to this store. I just recently purchased a new dining table and LOVE it. Since they downsized the store a few years ago, there isn’t a large selection but with the help of employees, I was able to pick it out through one of the catalogs. My favorite time to visit the store is Halloween through Christmas because the decorations are amazing.

This is a beautiful store, with lovely merchandise, however, in the several times I have shopped and made purchases, the staff is VERY unfriendly. My friends and I were there today and then went to Pier 1 — what a difference! We were greeted warmly and asked several times if we were finding what we needed. When we left the store, we were thanked for coming.. . What a sharp contrast to the cold, seemingly uninterested staff at Through the Garden Gate.

I don’t even know where to start. If you had dreams of how your home looks like… warm and cozy yet rich and beautiful… you would be having a dream about Through the Garden Gate in La Habra.
Christmas — WOW! I felt like I was in a dream state when I walked into the store a few weeks ago. I had a friend visiting from Santa Ynez and she talked about our visit to the store for days. SIMPLY DREAM LAND FOR CHRISTMAS.
The décor and ideas are off the chart picture perfect. In addition, if you need little gifts for someone — even to keep around just in case (you know, those gifts you need when you receive a gift from someone else that you weren’t expecting) they have wonderful little kitchen towels, little note books that are simply precious… did I mention the wonderful price on their jewelry? My friend from Santa Ynez bought a few gifts that were costume jewelry for $ 12 or less and very nice.
In addition, when you are in the store you feel like you are visiting an establishment from YEARS AGO. It’s obvious the owners hand pick the perfect employees. If you want to make purchases from an establishment that has old fashion values — customer service that is amazing and gifts you won’t be able to find anywhere else, you have to stop by.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this store and can’t wait until after the holidays for them to start helping me decorate my house.

Getting help has always been an issue here. I’m always frustrated when I leave and say to myself I will never return. But sadly there are not too many gift stores in the area to choose from. But if you are looking for a fluffy not too personal very pricey gift for a friend or maybe a not so good friend… this might be the place for you.
They do wrap nicely if you tell them it’s a gift.

I’m a FAN!!! Oh lord, this home décor store is beautiful. Very big, and every inch is filled with furniture, frames, candles, crosses, pillows etc. The workers, I think they might’ve ben the owners were vey sweet. They asked if I needed help looking for anything, or if i was looking for something in particular. They seemed very attentive but without being bug a boos :)
Everything in there is very sexy, & romantic. Soft colors, browns & bronze. The frames and crosses are very bling which I completely fell in love with.
The prices are a tad bit steep however the quality seems very good. I will be back again to purchase. Would be a great place to go with your Mom and look and shop!

This store is absolutely fabulous. I was introduced by a friend of mine and now I can’t stay away. When I first walked in I fell in love with everything in the store. They have the most amazing unique items. I ended up having Steve and Tony decorate my new home which was the best thing that I could have done. They did an extraordinary job. I get so many compliments from everyone that comes into our home. If you are considering a decorator you MUST consult with them. You will not be disappointed.

This is my favorite place to shop. They have beautiful picture frames and I just recently bought 2 sofas and 2 chairs. They have everything you need to decorate your house.
