I have NEVER given a bad review on Unilocal but I had to after today. I wish I could give negative stars. The worst nail experience EVER! They told me it was $ 20 for a gel manicure which is fine. Instead of removing the gel with a safe remover and foil she soaked my hands in 100% alcohol for 15 minutes until I had to complain my skin was burning. I asked why she didn’t use the safe solution w foil that they use at every other place and she said they ran out. Then she could not remove the gel and was scraping till I blead. Then started using the electric tool for acrylics to remove the gel til my nails were paper thin. I know I should have walked out. As she began painting my nails she was older and shaking– and the polish was all over my fingers. I asked her to remove it and she said after she was done. Every time she put my hands under the light my skin felt like it was burning off from them being soaked in alcohol for so long! I asked if it was safe and she said yes. Finally after the polish set, then she decided to try to remove the excess all over my fingers and she couldn’t… Again picking and pulling until my fingers were raw. I shouldn’t have even tipped but I handed her $ 23… And then she said they charge an extra $ 3 for gel removal. Unreal! Pay the extra $ 5-$ 10 and go elsewhere!

If I could give zero stars I would. My nail tech clipped my cuticles too short(and almost dry!) and made me bleed. Their nail polishes are cheap and started chipping less than 24 hours after my manicure. I paid for a spa mani pedi, expecting a leg and hand massage to last longer than 5 seconds… Nope. Pay the extra $ 3 and go somewhere else. ANYWHEREELSE.

One of a few nail salons open on Sunday. I got the $ 10 no frills regular pedi. Definitely not the best, but you get what you pay for. At $ 10 it’s decent if you just need a quick pedi.

I went to this place to get my «something blue» for my wedding. It’s only a week away and I figured I’d knock the blue nail polish off my «to-do» list. Unfortunately, it wasn’t a great experience. My pedicure was fair, but my manicure was very poorly done. She barely filed each nail and they ended up very uneven. The clear polish chipped off within two days. They gave me the manicure while I was in the pedicure chair. So, I had to balance a bowl of soapy water in my lap while two ladies worked on me. It was uncomfortable and I couldn’t relax. I was charged extra to have my feet scrubbed for a few seconds, but I wish she had done it longer. The whole thing added up to 30 dollars, and I’m not sure why.

I was pretty excited about this place as their mani/pedi special was only 17.99. Holy cow, right? Honestly, I didn’t have high expectations — as I usually don’t with nail salons this cheap — as there is always a reason something is cheaper than average. Like any nail salon, they ask you if you would like your feet scrubbed. It’s usually about 3 – 4 extra charge, and since the price was so cheap anyways, I didn’t think much and said yes. And as in any other place, they only ask you if you want it, not telling you it’s extra or how much more extra you have to pay. Turns out it was 6 dollars extra for them to scrub the soles of my feet for 10 seconds. I’m trying to be level headed as I write this review. I was pretty ticked off by this, as that meant my total was 24 dollars. And the nail work was not worth that much money. The service was pretty good, the person was friendly and all but she left me for over 5 minutes to do something(I have no idea what). She apologized, but it was still unprofessional. I usually look forward to using the massage chairs but they were the old models(not a big deal that’s not WHY I go to a nail salon) but what irked me was after your pedi, they make you walk over across the room for your mani. My feet got dirty, my pedi got ruined a little bit. Yeah. I’m never going back.

I drive up from San Diego every month just to get all my waxing needs(eyebrows and upper lip) and mani/pedi action. The prices are great and they do a really good job in both nails and waxing. I’ve tried a lot of different places in the area as well as in San Diego, but so far nothing has managed to top this place price wise and quality of service. I mean $ 13 for a spa pedicure? Can’t beat that. And when I’m talking spa pedicure, its a nice chair with massagers and huge spa. Sometimes when they are not too busy, they bust out the latest tabloid magazine for you to read while you get your spa pedi on. They do a great job with the nails, very thorough. My only gripe is that they charge 50 cents everytime you use your credit card, no matter how much you spend. But I like this place so much that I can’t subtract a star for that.
