We are still not impressed with this restaurant. We have given it a few tries and were looking forward to the fact that it is now under new management. We were hoping for an entirely new menu and were a bit bummed when it was the same olé same olé. The food is okay at best. We had the hamburger and the chicken sandwich. Both of which are over priced for what you get. The chicken sandwich was not as warm as it should have been and a bit dry. The hamburger was good but again way over priced.

Ordered 2 ribeyes mid rare, both were RARE. No seasoning, tough and chewy. If like wasting money and love Ponderosa steaks, this is the place for you. My wife only ate 2 ounces of her steak and threw the rest away. I’m a glutton for punishment and finished mine.

I LOVED my experience here. This was a lucky find during an impromptu visit to the Historic District of La Grange on a Friday evening with nothing to do. This is a lovely restaurant that is absolutely perfect for a date night. The ambiance and décor is really warm and inviting, modern but with a lot of rustic décor featuring, well, railroads! We were seated quickly after arriving at the empty restaurant(which filled quickly after that) and were presented with delicious rolls and glasses of water. After we ordered a few drinks we opted to get the mushroom soup, which was a pureed rendition with a strong bistro feel, it had great flavor and came out hot. We admittedly came here after we saw the burger photos on Unilocal,we just couldn’t resist, they looked so delicious! So that’s what we ordered, a bison burger and a beef burger, both grass fed on happy farms and were boasted as farm to table. My God, these were delicious burgers, house made buns, fresh veggies and huge, perfectly seasoned patties. Now get this, they’re so juicy and flavorful that the restaurant adds no sauce, and it definitely doesn’t need it. Just some cheese and veggies and you’ve got a perfect burger! I will say this, the French fries were not to my liking, they were the shoe string variety and lightly seasoned. Very crispy, almost hard. The service was great, but they seemed understaffed. This is probably one of the only nicer restaurants in this area so people streamed in quickly and they worked very hard to pay attention to us all equally. The bartender made excellent mixed drinks, be warned however, they do not have well drinks here. Their«well» is considered Jim Beam. Overall: An excellent date night restaurant that’s local and has almost all of their meat and produce sourced locally as well. Their hours of operation are strange, 4:00PM to 9:00PM Tuesday through Saturday, closed Sunday and Monday. People may say its pricy, but I don’t agree with that. I found it very reasonable, I think a 12 ounce sirloin served with two sides for 22.00 is great, and 12.00 burgers, well that’s a steal!

It has new management that has revamped the restaurant! They continued to check on our very large party(large parties normally get the worst service — in my opinion). The calamari and sweet potato tots were the favorite appetizers! We had a few more but it has been a few months since I last visited and those are the ones that stand out to me! We did have a bit of an issue when it came to our food being delivered. One of the guests steak was burnt and he had ordered it rare. A bit of a challenge there, eh? The new steak brought out was medium and he went ahead and enjoyed that. —- I have also been told my a frequent that I know that there is a new chef… And that he revived the menu and meals to be cooked to perfection! Personally, I had zero issues with my meal and enjoyed it very much! I ordered the bison burger. It definitely topped former Austins(recently closed). And I thought they had the best bison burger! I look forward to visiting again :)

Great food, great service, great experience all around. The bison burger and lamb burger were both good. They were large, on an artisan bun and came with cheese of your choice(we chose blue cheese). The sweet potato fries were soooo good and came with a yummy dipping sauce. The asparagus has a nice roasted flavor to it. I especially love that a lot of the food is local. The gazpacho was so fresh and delicious. I really liked the atmosphere and exposed brick they had going on. The chandelier is cute too. It was the perfect mix between old charm and new style. Victoria was our sever and she was perfect. Will be back.

Appetizers were descent however they have a lot of work to do in the customer service area. My dad was in from out of town from Baton Rouge, Louisiana which in my opinion has the best southern food ever! So I wanted to take him somewhere that offered local beef and wasn’t a chain. My steak wasn’t cooked right, the server acted like it a big deal to take it back. Then I even had to ask him to take it off the check when they took forever to bring me another one. Unacceptable! I won’t be back.

Invited by a friend from nearby I had the lamb burger it was excellent. One of my friends had the bison burger which was great. Another had the fish and chips which also looked tasty. Neat railroad décor, server was OK because my friend asked for a fish sandwich he said he could not do it because the menu had changed??? For a twelve dollar sandwich I believe they should accommodate they are in the service industry. Overall I was surprised how good it was.

Stopped off on a road trip… very cute train related décor! We had the Cuban with sweet potato tots and a Caesar salad. The tots come with smoked honey… tasty! Service was quick and friendly. The restaurant is in the historic district but convenient to the highway. The street is lined with boutiques and cafes if you have time for a stroll.

Stumbled on this place while looking for something unique and local. Very glad we did. I had one of the best pulled pork sandwiches I’ve ever had and I live in Memphis! The BBQ sauce that was served on the side was a little too sweet but it did make for a very nice contrast with the savoriness of the pork. I gobbled the whole thing down before I realized it! The sweet potato tots were average — needed to be crisper. The smokey honey dipping sauce was WAY yummy but it didn’t do anything for the tots, they were already sweet enough. I almost used it on my sandwich. It would be really good with something savory and a little salty. My brother got the Cuban sandwich and the soup of the day — Roasted Red Pepper Bisque. It must have been good because he didn’t even offer me a bite. Our server was nice, friendly, and brought many drink refills to the table. The big surprise was the train going by right outside the window! I didn’t give a thought to what train tracks down Main Street might mean. My son and I jumped up to watch the train go by on the street outside. All in all, a very enjoyable experience.

My mom and I ate lunch here on 11÷4÷14. It was so good! We started off with the sweet potato tots. Yum! They are served with a tasty smoked honey and were steaming hot. We had to force ourselves from eating the entire generous portion so we would have room for our soup and salad. The salads were absolutely delightful. Fresh veggies and amazing dressings made from scratch. The mushroom soup was good too. The best part of the experience, however, was when they brought the check. Included with it were two cookies and the server informed me it was«Free Cookie Tuesday»! I will definitely go back soon!

I went here with a few friends after doing some wedding dress shopping(not for me… yet!) at Couture Closet next door. Our server was excellent; very nice, informative, and funny. I had the bison burger with blue cheese and the sweet potato tots. It was delicious — the burger was perfectly medium and the tots were great with the smoked honey that comes along with them. The bride-to-be ordered a caesar salad and a cup of clam chowder which she enjoyed. My other friend ordered a fish taco and a pulled pork taco. She wasn’t thrilled with the tacos as the guacamole was very, very heavy on them but she said that otherwise they were pretty good. We also ordered a bottle of white wine which was a good compliment to our meal. I would definitely come here again.

VERY good! Best dining experience I’ve had in Lagrange in a long time. Great fish & chips, great vegetables, great wine, and great service. We will definitely be back! I was initially unsure about eating here based on reading previous reviews, but this place has had an unfair judgement. The prices were a teeny bit higher than the other Lagrange restaurants, but was certainly worth a couple extra bucks. If you really want to waste your money, go to Applebees.

Picked this place because of the bad reviews… What, you say… I was reading between the lines of the other reviews We came in between lunch and dinner… so it was not busy… yay. Our sever was very nice and friendly… explained the menu. Most all the meat and veggies are from local farms We had the bison burger… it was huge and delicious I subbed the sweet potato tots for fries… they also were good. . It’s not like what others have said, actually many reviews sound like they are from the same person or group that had one bad experience. This is a great little café

Delicious Bison Burger! The blue cheese on it made it the best bison burger I’ve ever had. Perfect combination. Loved the trains going by. We had the table by the window. Perfect time to try out my hyperlapse and the video on Unilocal. It’s great to know they get all the meat and most of vegetables from local farmers. They display local artists work. Makes the décor nice. I especially like the railroad crossing sign. The server was friendly and did a great job. It only took about 15 minutes to get fresh warm food. Overall experience was great. I gave stars to increase rating because I’m afraid helpers won’t stop by if the see a low rating and they really would miss out on a great experience.

My son and I tried this place as new transplants to the area. The food is average and the red ale is a Budweiser product, not a Rails special like they claim. The kicker was when the waitress added a n 18% gratuity and asked for a tip on top of that for a party of 2… here is my tip! support local businesses, just not this one. They are slow, unprofessional, unresponsive to requests and have mediocre food.

Really good lunch here today. Great salad, though it initially looked very small, was a surprise. Bison burger very good and large patty of meat. Dessert of chocolate extremely good also. Very good service. I will surely return.

Service was good, I went for lunch with some co-workers. I got the lamb burger, caprese salad and risotto. The lamb burger was great, risotto was bland and the caprese salad had too much balsamic.
