Get In Shape For Women

Get in Shape for Women is a smart program which combines strength training, HIIT cardio and nutritional guidance to produce results. The system of prepay with set appointments for your weekly workouts keeps you in the game, reducing the chances of skipping out! It’s the first program which has kept me engaged and interested in reaching my fitness goals. The LaGrange studio has fun, positive trainers who know just how hard to push you for results. The small group allows for personal attention from the trainers, who will modify anything to your fitness level or to protect an injured joint. This is truly an upbeat environment with great women who all have your best interest at heart. Highly recommended!

I love the atmosphere here and the fact that they focus on filling the studio with women who are going to be positive influences on each other during their journey to achieve their weight-​loss goal. I think that’s one of the things that really they have going for them — basically, it’s this «we’re all in this together» kind of attitude that motivated me, and not too mention a lot of other women that I’ve gotten to know while working out here. Obviously, it’s not for everyone, but many people respond better to a positive, non-​competitive environment when it comes to working out. I am one of them. The certified personal trainers here are amazing and they know how to make it fun. I’ve always felt challenged to push myself based on my abilities, and I love that they tailor the exercises to my needs (i.e., back problems). It’s been 3 years since I started (and I quickly lost a lot of weight with this program) and I plan to stay with them even longer to maintain my weight loss. So if you’re looking for a great place to help you lose weight and stay in shape, I would check this place out. Love the location too!

I do not doubt that their program is intense and will work if you follow all their rules, however, after my initial trial session and «interview» with the owner, I was totally put off by their marketing method. Apparently the spiel seems to be to basically insult you so that you are motivated to change your lifestyle. This I found very off putting.
I didn’t feel badly about myself until I went in there, I came out feeling like I must look so terrible, it was a total downer, I was close to tears driving home, as my goals for getting in shape and losing weight didn’t match what they had in mind for me. It was strongly implied that I didn’t display the commitment to the program they required. They wouldn’t tell me what the cost would be after the initial 6 weeks and that was an important thing for me to know.
The next day, I went to Curves, even though it is a 9 mile drive from my home, joined and have been going 6 times a week and am extremely pleased with the friendliness of the people there and getting to my weight loss and fitness goal.

Get in Shape for Women is a great find. Small group training sessions (max 4) are fantastic and the trainers are VERY helpful. They take you where you are and move you to where you want to be. They will problem solve any issue with you, both exercise and diet.
You have a schedule of work out times, which helps with the commitment to get in shape, yet there is no problem changing your day/​time if you have to.

Exercise is different for everybody, everybody has to figure out what will work for them. I decided to give Get in Shape for Women a shot initially because of convenience — it’s between work and home, and they really focus on accountability. I’m really glad I did.
Essentially, after a trial workout with the owner, the two of you determine if the program is a good fit for you, and how long it will take you to reach your goal, etc. Many women at this center are already incredibly fit, many women have a longer road in front of them. What’s great is that this gym works for both kinds of women. If you decide to go ahead with working out here, and signing up for a period of time, you will be scheduled to work out X amount of times a week, it’s all prescheduled so that you don’t have to fuss about it. You pay up front for your contracted amount of time. That cost might be prohibitive to some folks, and that’s understandable. However, if you’re looking for good results and want to and are able to make the investment, you’ll be really glad you did.
Workouts are intense and effective, and the trainers make sure you’re always on target, with good form, pushing yourself just enough. They’re good and caring folks who want you to succeed, and that really helps you stay focused. All in all, this is a truly positive place, one worth checking out.

Went in to check it out, owner says they don’t take everyone, signed for half off six/​weeks. I was asked what time I would like to come in, and was told I’m not flexible, because I only had a few time slots I was available. Trainers are very nice and helpful. You receive emails weekly diet tips etc. My last email was you are like you are because of not following diet etc. Much too expensive, and owner is arrogant. I bet this place will be gone in a few years or when lease is up.

I went to this place thinking it would be a fun place to go to get in shape and meet new people. The don’t accept everyone is what the owner told me when we sat down to talk, after our conversation I figured out why. If your pockets aren’t deep and you don’t live in the area don’t bother. I told her I couldn’t afford the $ 2000 for 6 months fee and she told me that I wasn’t dedicated enough which I thought was out of line.
I liked the structure that the place had but for the attitude the owner gave me when we sat down to talk I don’t think so… She also won’t give you any pricing over the phone if you call before hand…

I was brought there by groupon, but eventually did not feel very welcome for the fact that I was using groupon to try their services. The moment I heard «we do not accept everyone to this program» I did not like the attitude of this place. What do you mean you’re not going to accept me? I just paid money for it. I realize they’re playing hard to get, but that’s not what makes me to want to work out.
Did not like their tactics of persuasion to make you sign up for a longer period.
Also after the evaluation the owner tries to make you feel bad about your body and the way you look in order to fuel your will to work out. I get it, some people need a kick in their butt, but such abusive tactics do not work on everyone. I just didn’t feel the positive energy and I didn’t like some things the owner said. She should have chosen her words more carefully with potential customers.
This place is good for :
Workouts are good for women that need assistance with a routine. It is definitely a good place for starters. After a while exercises get a little too easy and do not have much variety. Appointment system makes you more committed than just come whenever sports clubs.
