First Baptist Church At La Crescenta

My wife and I made FBCLC our primary church in 2013 after the birth of our first child. We’ve had the pleasure of being a part of several churches in the last 15 years but FBCLC really stands out from the rest. I think part of it has to do with the size of the congregation — not too big and impersonal like a mega-​church yet not too small either. The senior pastor knows every regular attendee by name. And while it’s a tightly-​knit community, the people could not be more inviting to newcomers. My wife and I experienced that warmth and welcoming first hand, consistently for weeks and months, from everybody we met — senior pastor down to door greeter to even the kids. I have never felt the forced «pressure» to give or volunteer to be accepted here but it’s naturally become a desire in my heart to do so to serve the Lord. Our kids (3 and 1) seem to do quite well here as they have a robust children’s ministry.
Over the past few years of sitting through sermons and observation, I have developed an admiration for the leadership of this church. The pastors here have really lived through highs and lows themselves; no one here is claiming to be perfect. I like that they are upfront and real about brokenness. We’re all just here to know the Lord better. My wife and I took an awesome «World Class Marriage» course taught by the senior pastor himself and we’re currently doing the Dave Ramsey course in financial management.
I recommend people of any age and background try out this church because it’s really something special that I can’t do justice for in a Unilocal review.

We moved to La Crescenta in 2011 and decided to make FBCLC our church home. The pastor and the people have always treated us with so much kindness! The music is really great and we love it here. Our son was welcomed into the Youth Group (Jr. High and High School). I have always heard the truth of the Bible preached in the sermons (I’ve been Christian for 40 years). This is a wonderful place! When I was asked to join the staff, I gladly accepted. I’m so grateful for the opportunity.

First Baptist Church is an authentic community of Christ-​worshipping, Scripture-​following and People-​loving believers located in the La Crescenta /​La Canada area. They’ve been a significant part of the community for over 70 years. They’re over the top friendly and inviting, the music is mucho cool and vibrant, the pastor’s a good teacher with practical insights. It’s seriously a great community to be a part of. I’m in my 30’s and have enjoyed being here.
If you’re looking for an authentic place to worship and grow on your spiritual journey, I’d totally recommend this place. You’d need to be borderline crazy to not like this church. Seriously! ;-)

This church is all about greed and worships the almighty dollar.
They expect the members to fork out their hard earned cash and volunteer their time, yet when it comes to a member in need, they hold out their hand for money.
They’re very unchristian.
They want ‘you’ to preach to others. Excuse me, but that’s the job of the pastor. Everyone else is supposed to live a good life and, if it possible, help others in need.
They’re a social club.
You can compare them to the mega churches on tv. More members equals more money.
They support those who teach Chrislam which denies the deity of Jesus Christ and seeks to merge the church with Islam.
Chrislam is one of the many end times deceptions warned about in the holy bible.
This IS NOT the church you want to get involved with.
