Barton W Conroy, DDS

I saw Dr. Conroy as a child (about 14 years ago), and had braces for 4 years. After removing two of my top molars (I am genetically missing two on the bottom), Dr. Conroy decided it would be a good idea to open up two huge gaps in my mouth on the bottom in order to later have implants put in, rather than close these genetic gaps on the bottom.
I am now paying over $ 10,000 in dental work to fix his poor judgment calls. Orthodontists now ask why this was ever done to me, and if I had orthodontia for so long, why do I still have huge gaps. Good question. Maybe $ 10,000 in dental work isn’t a lot for a Porsche-​driving orthodontist, but it is for the rest of us, especially to fix completely unnecessary problems. I would not recommend this practice to anyone if you want a competent orthodontist who explains the longer term effects of treatment to you.

I began the path to my kids getting braces at Dr. Low in La Canada. His staff always seemed arrogant and we always seemed to wait and wait and wait in the waiting and waiting and waiting room far past the appointment time. When I received the estimate of over $ 5000 for each kid for expected orthodontic costs, I went shopping for other orthodontists.
I visited three different offices in the La Crescenta area, and was most impressed with Dr. Conroy. While all three offices had prices comparable to each other (and much lower than Dr. Low’s), Dr. Conroy’s office was welcoming and did not take offense that we were «shopping» for an orthodontist. The office atmosphere was calm; it was not arrogant, it was not styled like a Beverly Hills hair salon, it was not intimidating.
My kids have been seeing Dr. Conroy for almost a year. We are seen on time, Dr. Conroy is happy to explain things twice if needed, Letty the dental assistant is gracious as she works on the teeth and Claudia has made billing easy. This is the best medical office of any kind that I have ever visited. I wish my own office ran as well as Dr. Conroy’s.

I brought my boyfriend for a (free) consultation with Dr. Conroy to get a second opinion on potentially getting adult braces. We had just been to another orthodontist who seemed to be more of an Invisalign saleswoman than doctor, so we were looking for a second opinion from a hopefully more legitimate source.
Dr. Conroy was a straight-​shooter. Seemed to really know what he was talking about and not trying to sugar-​coat his assessment. No BS about Invisalign being a miracle solution — in fact, we asked about it and he thought it was NOT a realistic option at all.
Though we won’t be proceeding with orthodontia because it would mean a grueling process starting off with jaw surgery, we really appreciated Dr. Conroy’s expertise. We’d be happy to recommend him to anyone looking for a trustworthy doctor who is looking out for his patients’ welfare instead of trying to push the latest fads.

I just started my orthodontic treatment 2 months ago and my teeth are looking so much better! I am very happy so far! I met with so many orthos, and as soon as I met with Dr. Conroy. I just knew the difference! I did my research and he definetly is the best at what he does. He is very knowledgeable and his staff is always very polite and helpful! Thank you Dr. Conroy and staff for an amazing experience. I highly reccomend your office to anyone in search of a beautiful smile.

I have been a patient of Dr. Conroy’s since around 1995. He took over my previous othodontist who retired. I was able finally able to have the smile I always wanted. So here it is 17 years later and he still keeps me smiling! I have had numerous retainers lost /​broken over the years and he is always there to accomodate. My husband is now a patient of his as well. I would highly recommend Dr Conroy to anyone who is looking for a trustworthy Orthodontist who actually cares about your teeth! The staff is wonderful too.

So far so good. My child is about half way through orthodontry and everything seems to be on schedule.
The staff are great: always pleasant, responsive to requests, patient with my questions. I appreciate their email and phone notifications of our next appt.
Dr. Conroy was able to offer an orthodontric solution to small jaws with big teeth and a minor cross-​bite that did not require extraction of permanent teeth, and he was very clear in all of his explanations about the steps required to complete the process. The only reason I can’t put 5 stars is that I don’t have any basis for comparison.

Dr. Conroy is the best Orthodontist in the entire L.A. area!!!
His staff is very friendly and professional, making anyone feel welcome and comfortable before, during, and after the your visit.
Dr. Conroy extends his professionalism to all his patients and make sure they are %100 satisfied.
I would recommend to all who want fast and almost painless braces procedure to achieve that perfect smile that only Dr. Conroy can provide!!!
His Office is conveniently located in the corner of Pacific Ave. and Glenoaks Blvd., North of the 134 Fwy and only a 15 minutes from downtown L.A.

As a single parent, I am so glad that I was referred by a friend to Dr. Conroy.
This office is very accomodating to my busy schedule. It is so easy to communicate with the staff via email or by phone.
