Java by the Bay is the Espresso & Internet Café Lounge located in downtown L’Anse. We provide espresso based drinks, coffee, smoothies. We also have a breakfast and lunch menu and daily specials.

History

Established in 2011.

We started out as just a coffee house and have grown to a coffee house & café serving dishes that can not be found elsewhere in the UP.

You are never a stranger when visiting Nikki and Bob’s Java by the Bay. A little gem nestled in downtown L’Anse, you won’t find a better breakfast or lunch in town made with fresher and more wholesome ingredients. To heck with Starbucks when you can stop and enjoy a hot macchiato, an iced chai latte or fresh fruit smoothie along with a host of many different «eats» when visiting this charming little town at the head of Keweenaw Bay.

Terrific huge sandwiches! Split the roast beef with my sister-​in-​law. Nice atmosphere and had an iced coffee. Really like their diagram of difference between capicinno, latte, etc.

The few drinks I’ve had here could of easily been mistaken for gas station drinks. Very weak, burn your mouth hot, and lacking attention to detail.

This place is awesome. Great sandwiches, delicious chocolate banana smoothies and wonderful atmosphere. The cookies and scones look really good but I passed on dessert. Hope to come back sometime!

Fast friendly service, good coffee (if you prefer well roasted good beans instead of diner-​style coffee that is) in a part of the world where there isn’t much of it. Warm pleasant environment, free WiFi for customers. I had an omelette also, which was quite good and not expensive. Baked goods are made in house; didn’t sample them but they looked good. I’d highly recommend Java by the Bay to anyone visiting the area in search of good coffee. Keep up the good work guys!

Absolutely amazing! Like Dean C. said, the service is great, staff is friendly, and the food is unheard of in the UP. The do a great job bringing fresh food to the table. Sandwiches are great and they have a pretty diverse array of types and also plenty of vegetarian options (portobella sandwich Wednesdays).
They’re a coffee shop too. Every time I’ve been the coffee has been fresh, hot, and tasty. Worth the stop if you’re driving through L’Anse/Baraga.
