The Home Depot

Here’s a list of complaints surrounding 1 purchase and installation of tile that I sent to their customer service center.
1^st complaint: On May 28^th I went into the Kyle, Tx Hope Depot to finalize my
tile install. I found Alma and told her I was ready to pay for the
install, she told me to go to the customer service desk. I went there
and the women working there had no idea what I was talking about and
told me to go back to flooring. I told them flooring sent me here so
they called back there to get info from Alma. I was there for an hour
waiting to pay (literally an hour). Then on April 5^th I called the store to find out the
status. The first person I spoke to said my order was ready and
transferred my call. The 2^nd person told me they were still waiting on
parts of my purchase, when I told her what the first person said she
replied with «oh» and transferred me to Tammy. When I spoke to
Tammy and told her what had been going on so far she apologized and
confirmed that they were still waiting for part of my order and that it
should be in in a couple of days and that someone would call me. Another
week goes by. Here it is May 12^th and still no word. So I called and
Alma answered the phone, maintaining her dismissive demeanor since she
already made my sale, tells me that they are still waiting and that it
should only be another 2 days and she promised to call me when
everything was ready. Is this how Home Depot treats all their customers
that spend over $ 2500 in one sale? I will never shop there again and
certainly will never recommend you guys to anyone. Lowes did not treat
us like this when they installed our laminate. They had it together. I
am extremely close to canceling the whole order and demanding a full
refund.
2^nd complaint: To add insult to injury a woman from Home Depot called me
today and said «when are you coming to pick up your order?» I told her that
the whole order wasn’t in yet and that you guys are delivering it. She said
«ok» and hung up. What is going on over there? It’s now beyond terrible, and
my confidence in the company is even lower now than it was this morning.
3^rd complaint: The delivery guys showed up 30 minutes early, I wasn’t home
yet because they weren’t supposed to get there until 2:30 at the earliest.
They forgot the ¼ rounds and the transition pieces. Epic FAIL!
4^th complaint: The saga continues. The installers are here. They just told
me that your people sent the wrong grout. I wonder how long it will take your
people to get the proper stuff here. I now absolutely hate Home Depot. There’s
only two places to go in our town, Home Depot and Lowes. Lowes has won my
business forever. Seriously, the Kyle Home Depot has messed up royally on this
one transaction. From the day when I went there to pay for my install to this
very moment.
5^th complaint: Now your install people are telling me this is a 2 day job.
When I was originally called by your install company the were going to schedule
me for tomorrow, I told them I wouldn’t be here so they switched it to today.
Never once telling me this is a 2 day job. Now we have to reschedule appointments
that were made a month ago to accommodate more of your peoples mistakes. I want
my money back! This is such crap and has been the biggest nightmare.
6^th complaint: The grout is too low. The grout dried in different colors in
different spots. The grout is cracking already. It’s only a week old. The stain blocker additive wasn’t
mixed in with grout at all. The installers rinsed out their bucket and dumped it
on my front lawn, leaving debris in that spot.

I got flooring from this Home Depot and it was one of the worst experience I have ever had. They lost the first order and then the second order came in damaged. The supervisor was supposed to call us and let us know but he didn’t. When we got to the store he made his associates deal with it and didn’t even talk to us. Just walked away. Do Not shop at Home Depot. Go anywhere else!!!

As a small Hays County General Contractor this is my go to place for all my equipment. I like the service, the speed of checking out and of coarse the pricing. It never seems busy and I can get in and out very quickly… it still has that personal small town feel.

I had looked all over at the home depot’s in Austin for a specific backsplash. I needed exactly 25 more packs and called the Kyle location for verification that it was there. I found a person in flooring that was super kind and tracked down the last 26 packs of this backsplash for me. He really saved me, I think his name was Jimmy! This gets 5 stars because I called other locations and noone would ever pick up the phone!

After waiting two weeks for a back ordered appliance. ok, not ideal but was a good price. Then was called saying another two weeks. No way. Customer service center said we had to go to appliances for refund. Appliances says we have to go to customer service. The lazy woman at customer service said she could have done it but was too busy (there was no one else in line). I will gladly pay more at lowes. No way am I going back there

Friendly service. Sales Associates are very helpful in locating various products throughout the store.
Santos & Johnny in the Electrical Department are exceptionally knowledgable in giving advice, & have helped me out tremendously in the past… especially for this Do It Yourselfer!!!
If you’re doing a Kitchen or Flooring Project, ask for Sulema or Alma. They both really Know their stuff & can get your project started and completed in a timely manner!
If I have one complaint, its that occasionally finding a sales associate is a hard task to accomplish… Does EVERYONE take a break at the Same Time? Maybe there weren’t enough sales staff, IDK.
Overall I highly recommend shopping at the Kyle location, instead of with the pretentious sales jerks at Blowes down street.

Not sure why there are so many negative reviews about this place, I stop by this location at least once a month of not more and everyone is always friendly and willing to help out. The only problem that I have ever had was that I brought my weed eater in once for repairs and somehow they managed to lose it. On a good note the store manager replaced it with a new one! Obviously this was the right thing to do, but you can tell how sincere he was about the situation.

I need several pieces of metal conduit and needed to know if they could cut it. The guy was very rude and outright told me he was too busy to help me.
Since he was too busy, I went to Lowes where they could help me and answer my questions without feeling rushed or talked down to.

So frustrated. I bought $ 3500 of appliances in June of 2013. Sales pitch promised me 24 months no interest. Reviewing my bill today and that purchase is listed as 12 months no interest. I nicely called customer service and explained the problem, thinking it would be adjusted. I have been a customer for years… Brittany had no interest in helping me and I ended up canceling the card. Took $ 1000 out of savings, so I paid them $ 1175 today as I made a payment this morning as well. What a scam… She told me I could try calling the store to see if they would extend it. It’s sad that it’s worth losing a long time customer over some interest fees they WILL NOT BE RECEIVING. We will pay this off before they can stick that to us. Completely irritated. Lots of other options out there that are honest and have integrity. Don’t offer something if you are not going to provide it just to get people to buy it.

THE HOME DEPOT ARE LIARS AND CHEATS! DO NOT USE THEM FOR INSTALLATION. THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF. We were assured by two associates that we would only have to pay $ 90 for a laminate install in a bedroom closet as it was under a certain sq. footage and we had already paid for $ 120 in material, bought from their store. We paid $ 30 for a measurement and we were NOT reimbursed for that. Home Depot calls us back and tells us that after the $ 150 we already spent, the bill for JUST the install was OVER $ 300!!! not the $ 90 we had agreed to. There was no apology and they pocketed the money we spent on measurements. We are two young women and I believe the Home Depot tried to screw us over because they thought they could pull one on us. Had they done a good job and treated us respectfully, I would have paid hundreds of dollars to have them install laminate throughout our entire home. Not anymore! To me, it’s not JUST about the price. If a business BLATANTLY LIES to me, they will no longer be getting my money or respect.

Nobody ever goes to this Home Depot. Easy to check out and lots of employees to ask questions of.

I asked one employee for help locating a water softener cover for winterization and he recommended a bbq cover. I asked another and she sent me to the correct aisle. Also got our Christmas tree. Small selection left but employees were very helpful.

I’ve never experienced bad service here. Granted, the only departments I visit are Paint and Garden. Their cactus/​succulent collection is very hit or miss. Sometimes they get some really cute ones, other times they’re all nasty looking. Please get rid of those spray painted ones. They’re hideous. The other day it started raining on us and we had a basket full of garden shit like sand and potting soil and even though there were two of us loading up the trunk the kid came out with an umbrella and helped us load our stuff. Thanks, kid!

Yeah, this location needs some help. Not the best selection, but I’ve had good experiences each time I’ve gone, so I can’t complain.
The store doesn’t do nearly the business that the Lowes does, a mile down the road. Probably due to location, but they are building new I-​35 exit ramps that might change the game.
Here’s a tip for HD — build an entrance off the access road, where there would be one normally. Because if a potential customer drives by, thinking they’re going to be able to turn in from the access road like they should, they’ll have to drive another mile down the road and U-​turn, driving right past Lowes in the process, and who knows — maybe that’s where all your business is going.

It’s a home depot… really not that impressive, but yet nothing horrible. The staff was helpful — when I could find it. They don’t have a huge variety of things, but one must remember it is Kyle… not a booming metropolis.

My experience at this store was with the tool rental section. I would have just given one star but I was offered a partial refund for my negative experience here. I went here to rent a tiller. After using the tiller for a couple hours the screws came loose and I believe a pin came out also. we had to drive back into town and change it out for another one. The second tiller also hardly worked. I ended up going to Tru value in San Marcos and renting a tiller for half the price that home depot charger. The home depot tiller hardly broke up any of the dirt. We were offered half off the original price otherwise I would have just given this store one star.
I wouldn’t recommend this store.
By the way Lowe’s gives military discounts to those with a valid military ID, home depot does not.

This store had gone way down hill. I had called to see about ordering some Zoysia grass pads. I was told by one guy on the phone that he had a pallet of Zoysia and a pallet and of St. Augustine. I rolled in to see if it was the type of Zoysia I was looking for. As I am walking toward the pallet, I over hear one of the guys bragging to his co worker about how many times he had been arrested, which is not something you want to hear when you are shopping in a store. I then asked a Hispanic woman with short hair and glasses who was watering plants about the grass she had and she replies, «If its not there, we do not have it.» She had this clueless look. I asked her, «You do not know do you?» She replied, «I do not know what it looks like,» If you have no clue, do not try to answer my question. She could have easily looked it up in the computer and gave me the correct answer.
I walked out upset with the incompetence and the rude service. I noticed the manager’s number on a sign. I called the manager and left him a message. The manager never called me back at all.
I did go back a few days later and found that I could get zoysia grass; but, it was a special order. I wrote down the number and went to the special order desk. There was a young girl and another young guy at the desk. I asked, «Could you please tell me what the minimum order for this part number.» The young girl replies, «I can not order it till Tuesday.» Gee, I did not ask you when you could order it. I asked what the minimum order was. I asked her again and she says, «1 pallet and I think 170 pieces come in a pallet.» 170 pieces at $ 1.59 a piece is over $ 270. That is MORE than grass farms are charging, which is completely incorrect.
Thanks but I will stick with Lowes or if I do need to hit Home Depot, I will NOT be going to this one.

I’ve been to this store a couple of times, once looking for a Christmas decoration the Austin stores were out of (they had it!) and again more recently for some simple hardware items to finish a project.
The service was normal and the store had what I needed, but I noted a total lack of employees available to help customers. I almost needed a bit of help with the hardware items, but figured it out myself before I had to find someone. «You can do it. We can help.» It’s just a pipe dream at this store.
The lesson I learned is that the smaller stores downsize not only the store but also the staff it takes to run it. So you may be in for a rude awakening if you need help at this location. I guess it’s appropriate they chose an address on ‘Dry Hole Drive’.

Very big store — but the management is not so great. And the employees are so busy, it is hard to get help with anything.
