St David’s Urgent Care – Kyle

I was in need of care on a Sunday and went in at opening time at 11:00 am. Within about a total of 40 minutes I had been examined, x-​rayed and out of the door. Staff, x-​ray tech and Doctor were efficient, kind and explained everything to my satisfaction. I will definitely be using them again when needed. This is the location in the HEB Plus complex across from Starbucks.

Great folks. I’m an RN myself and we are hard to please. They are really cool, took care of me quick. Gib was nice and (sorry forgot her name) but the RN manager super nice. Very social peeps and that’s a good thing because it was genuine and put me at ease. (It’s hard to be cared for when you are a caregiver). Dr Blewett nice doc, seems like he has been doing this a long time and had a friendly, professional demeanor. Thank you for helping me. Registration super quick and very sweet. I would recommend for urgent care needs.

Arrived 15 minutes before closing time on a Saturday and doors were locked and lights out. We were out in the rain trying to get my daughter some relief from a broken finger only to arrive to closed doors prior to posted hours? Going to use Texas Urgent Care from now on.

They fit me in last minute and took care of my kidney infection.
They were tired and ready to go home and still took care of me.

The after care at this facility turned what would have been a five-​star rating into an absolute dud, never-​go-​back-​again rating for my family. My daughter, a junior at nearby Texas State University was seen for a knee injury and very competently treated. She was placed in a knee stabilizer and instructed to use crutches for six weeks. She has classes spread far apart on the hilly TSU campus and knew she would need help getting around so she visited the student disability office which offers a golf cart service to help students in just this situation. They encouraged her to get a permit from the physician and gave her the form to get approved. The doctor at St. David’s — not the one who treated her but the one on call when the form arrived — refused to approve it. I phoned personally to ask very politely and deferentially that the request be reconsidered and was informed that they don’t typically think their knee patients need such accommodation. The doctor arrogantly dismissed me and hung up on me. My daughter was in disbelief, phoned back herself in tears and got the same treatment. It is beyond me why a physician would deny a patient a simple accommodation that they think they need. I just don’t get it. Like it was some sort of breech of his medical ethics or something… Unbelievable lack of compassion.

I went in one day with a badly swollen finger and wanted to see if I could get some pain meds for it. My finger had been bothering me for almost 2 ½ weeks but figured it was not a big deal. I was planning on going grocery shopping afterwards since it’s next to the HEB. Well was I in for a surprise! The doctor took one look at my finger which was beginning to resemble an over bloated sausage and told me I was about to have surgery on it! Zoinks!
The doctor got his operating equipment ready and immediately got to work. He didn’t even mind me cussing out loud when he gave me a local anesthetic to number my hand. The doctor worked quickly and efficiently and 2 hours later I was on my merry way. Needless to say, the grocery shopping didn’t happen that day but my finger was not ready to bust out of its casing and actually felt better. Highly recommend this clinic if needed.

I had to take my daughter, who is 40 weeks pregnant, to be seen for a terrible ear infection and when they couldn’t get her Blood Pressure down they sent us to her delivering hospital. They offered for her to go via EMS but she wanted me to take her. I have to say great things about Dr. Mitchion and Michelle the RN who saw us. They were so patient, kind and extremely thorough in taking great care of my daughter and the PCT offering us something to drink. I highly recommend this Urgent Care in Kyle! We were seen very quickly too! Thank you so much for seeing my daughter!

My son Titus busted his head today. We took him to St. David’s in Kyle. The staff was responsive, informative, and generally pleasant to be around. They gave my boy three stitches and did it without causing any real crying. Then he got a Rocket Pop.
We don’t have insurance. They were more than accommodating and gave us a reasonable rate.
St. David’s, thank you. We will be back, though hopefully not for a long time and with nothing serious.

After having no luck in finding an urgent care clinic in San Marcos, I decided to take my sick roommate to this St. David’s Urgent Care clinic in Kyle. We called & made sure that they’d be open then up I-​35 we went!
It is conveniently located next to the HEB Plus and right off I-​35 which made it easy to find. We walked into this beautiful waiting room and were both greeted by a very nice receptionist and not even 5 minutes later, they called her into a room to take her blood pressure and temperature. Less than 10 minutes later, the doctor came in and assisted her. He wrote her a prescription and out we went — less than 30 minutes after getting there!
Never had I ever been in and out of a medical clinic so fast and received such great service by the employees!
I sat in the waiting room and was offered a popsicle and a bottle of water. A POPSICLE… I felt like a child again.
This clinic is HIGHLY recommended and make sure to ask for a popsicle when you go! ;)

Be warned even though they call themselves an urgent care they will charge you an emergency room co pay. I was told I had a cold went for a second opinion the next day and I had pneumonia. Will not return.

We are from Dallas and unfortunately had to pay a visit to Urgent Care to get 4 stitches in my head. The staff was amazing, facilities great, Dr. Bell was kind and gentle. I even got a follow up call the next morning! Thank you!

I KNOW I KNOW you need medical attention and they are available evening &weekends when you regular doctor isnt so why complain ?
Cus its not the doctors where the problem lies its the billing dept
As was pointed out in a post by Jennifer about the center on slaughter they classify themselves for (billing purposes) as ER when in fact they are not open ²⁴⁄₇ which classifies a ER facility
they are * urgent care* to completely differant animals
watch it if you need to go there they charged me a ER deductable $ 50 reasonable if you need medical attention quickly at a inconveniant time ‚
problem is the doctors bill SEPARATELY from the clinic its self and your insurance might or might not cover the cost. i was billed for a second deductable /​and more after paying the initial payment cus the insurance had it as 2 separate visits thats the way the center bills them took me 2 months to sort it out had to go to mediation .

they are not a ER facility however much they advertize themselves as such .
the doctor care was great the facility clean but ill withhold 2 stars because of their screwed up billing system .
use it if you must but beware it might cost you more then you bargained for and its a hassle to get it sorted out
