–We are completely independent! We are not a franchise, nor do we have any contracts with any distributor or any particular grove or supplier. We buy our products from the very best source we can find – and we can change our products whenever we find one we feel is better. We also change our products a bit to reflect the season

–A few months ago we decided to eat those foods we felt were better for us. After being introduced to high quality olive oils and balsamics and reading literature about the health benefits of olive oil, we were hooked. We primarily follow a Mediterranean diet (including the wine). We’ve lost weight, take less medication and have reconnected with our former and younger energy level. Most importantly we enjoy the taste of the foods we now prepare. Almost all of our cooked foods that require an oil for either cooking properly or to add flavor are cooked in one of our olive oils. Our salads, vegetables and fruit desserts are topped with one of our balsamics. Just because one eats healthy, doesn’t mean it has to be boring.

History

Established in 2013.

The Olive Tree and the Grape Vine — are ancient symbols of peace, sustenance, and merriment. Our primary products are fine extra virgin olive oils and balsamic vinegars, fruits of the olive tree and the grape vine. Our guests are invited to taste all of our olive oils and balsamic vinegars and after choosing their favorites, we hand bottle selections in an attractive bottle with a bar top cork and a wine-​bottle type foil as a final seal. We’ve found that our customers love giving our products as gifts, so we happily create gift baskets, offer lovely gift bags, and shipping.

Meet the Business Owner

Terri and Paul K.

Business Owner

Terri and Paul Karlsson — wife and husband team of 20 years. We both have had varied and interesting careers, but we both enjoy small business in which we get to connect with our wonderful customers. Terri had a career in a Fortune 100 company before becoming involved with forming and managing nonprofits. Paul is a retired Naval Aviator and a former global consultant for a Fortune 100 company. We’ve had a cabinetry, remodeling and residential general contracting business for several years and have worked together to beautify the homes of others as well as our own. We both continue to be involved in the musical arts both professionally, and as volunteers, and we are passionate supporters of the arts. We currently invite guests to our mountaintop home Boulder Ridge in nearby Pisgah Forest (located in the «Land of Waterfalls») where there is a bed and breakfast suite.
