I love the staff at Totalworks. They are very professional, safe, and clean. I go there for every beauty need that I have. They also sell my favorite makeup, Jane Iredale — the only natural makeup that doesn’t irritate my skin allergies.

This spa is very aesthetically appealing. The front desk staff are very nice and they used Aveda products (which are my preference.) I had really hoped to have a good experience here but there a few issues that I just couldn’t get past.
I came in for a trim and the guy who was doing my hair was not very friendly. He seemed a little annoyed (perhaps because I had made my appointment that morning, I’m not sure.) He did a quick consultation which was fine then walked me over to the shampooing station. He proceeded to shampoo my hair without putting a cape on me. Water got all over the back of my clothes. I wasn’t very happy about getting a personal shower. Afterwards I was walked to back to the stylist’s chair. He trimmed my hair and blew it out straight for me. It was fine but nothing special. I decided while I was there that I would get my eyebrows waxed since they needed touching up. The front desk was very accommodating and got me in within 10 minutes. The girl who works in the spa side was very nice, much friendlier. The room where I was waxed was a nice room but extremely chilly considering how cold it was outside. Made me question how relaxing a massage or facial could be if the spa side isn’t heated. The eyebrow wax was okay. She didn’t take off too much but the shaping was not very well done. She even said to me, «one is a little uneven but if I try to correct it I’ll take off too much.» What?!? Did I just hear that?
Overall I was disappointed in this experience. I’ve been searching for a good Aveda salon in the area but I’ve yet to find a place that is reasonable price wise and does a great job. Seems the norm is to charge too much and then deliver mediocre results. As expensive as these services are I expect to have an excellent experience.

I had the best massage today of my life from Naomi. She is amazing. I first went to Naomi, 4 years ago at a different salon. Each time I go see her, I never know what to expect, she feels around for what needs to be worked on and does it! Each massage is even better than the last. Today I went in with achy muscles from an intense workout 2 days ago. I feel like a million bucks! Thanks Naomi!
