Dr. David Reath has been practicing in Knoxville for over 27 years. He is renowned for his warm bedside manner, his friendly staff and his focus on plastic surgery education. Because of this passion, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the foremost authority in plastic surgery, recently appointed Dr. Reath to be Chairman of their national Public Education Committee.

History

Established in 1987.

In addition to his professional qualifications, Dr. Reath is respected by his patients.

Dr. Reath was selected for both «The Patient’s Choice 5 Year Anniversary Award» and the «Compassionate Doctor Award 5 Year Honoree». This is a big deal because only 1% of the doctors in the United States are awarded either honor by their patients. In addition patient reviews resulted in the «Top Ten Doctor Award» for plastic surgeons in Tennessee.

The only award which Dr. Reath received that we hesitate to mention is the «On-​time Doctor Award» (just in case you happen to be the rare patient reading this while looking at the clock in our waiting room). Seriously, we’re glad our patients are noticing this. Respecting our patient’s time is one of our priorities, which is why we have our on-​time pledge.

Dr. Reath received his training as a general surgeon at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond and completed plastic surgery training at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.

Dr. Reath is particularly proud of his office staff and his patients obviously feel the same. Our office receives countless comments from patients complimenting their friendliness. We have no voice mail for a reason, we know you want to talk to a real person whether you are scheduling an appointment or calling with a question.

That’s why our motto is «The Personal Approach to Personal Change». Our staff’s goal to treat every patient the way we would want to be treated if we were the patient.

Dr. Reath is a longtime resident of Knoxville, Tennessee. He and his wife have three children who are now spread out across the country in South Carolina, Boston and east Tennessee. When not in the operating room, seeing patients in the office or writing about plastic surgery education issues, Dr. Reath can usually be found singing baritone in the choir at the Church of the Ascension, or rowing competitively with his wife in their double shell.
