Select Sitters specializes in connecting babysitters and nannies to families in the Triangle (Raleigh, Cary, Garner, Knightdale, Wake Forest, Apex, Clayton, and Wake County). Select Sitters offers occasional babysitters, part time nannies, full time nannies, pet sitters, and house sitters.

We do not charge membership fees or placement fees for occasional, part time placements, and pet sitting. Our flat rate allows you to know up front what you will pay for your babysitter.

Select Sitters does the work for you. We hire the most qualified baby sitters and set up all occasional and part time appointments so you can sit back and relax. We also provide the peace of mind to know that your children and home are safe. All of our baby sitters, pet sitters, and nannies are CPR/​First Aid certified, have at least 3 years of childcare experience, references have indicated that sitter is exceptional, and have been background checked.

History

Established in 2011.

Select Sitters was founded by Caleb and Kara Varnell. Kara has worked for over 11 years as a occasional babysitter, part time, and full time nanny for many wonderful families. After seeing the overwhelming need for quality childcare providers, but not being able to do the work herself she decided to open Select Sitters in Lynchburg, VA. After the couple relocated in 2012 to the Raleigh, NC area they decided to open another branch in Raleigh, NC as well.

Business Owner

Kara has worked as a part time, occasional, and full time nanny for many wonderful families for the last 11+ years. She holds a B.S. and a M. A from Liberty University. Kara and her husband Caleb personally run the business themselves and see to it that each client has a personal experience and is able to express their expectations and desires for their babysitter or nanny.

Caleb and Kara are expecting their first child in December and look forward to having so many extra hands to call when they need a night away.
