Great place for burgers and shakes. We got the Andy’s burgers and the Shake flavor of the week which was Caramel. The shakes were awesome! I also thought the burger was very good. Onion rings were fine, nothing special. The staff were smiling and helpful and always there with refills, answering questions etc. $ 6.99 for a combo that includes burger, fries/rings and a drink or shake is awesome! If I went to «Tofu palace», I wouldn’t expect them to give me a great steak. Also, it’d be pretty silly to go to a place with«burger» in its name of you were a vegetarian and expect great vegetarian options… Wouldn’t it?

My husband introduced me to this place, it used to be called«Andy’s.» It’s been bought as a franchise but still has good food. It’s like walking into an old 50’s diner, where you’re ALWAYS greeted by the entire staff. I usually get what I think they call a blue plate special — it’s a burger and fries for cheap. Plus, they have CUSTARD!!! You have to try their custard shakes. Simple, cheap, and fun!

I take my family here a few times a month. Its good food, fast and not as much as most other sit down places. The cheesesteak is the best item on the menu in my opinion. The staff is good most often and seems to like what they do. One in particular has always seemed to impress us every time we visit. She is always smiling and very polite and observant! While others are doing a good job as well she stands out by almost running every where she goes. Not in a rush so to say but just quick. I think her name is heather but if you have been when she is working you will know who I’m talking about. Thanks for the great service. All in all it is not five guys or McDonald’s. Its hwy 55 and its very good. Looking forward to our next visit!

Good: It was kid friendly. Kids meals were served in a cardboard car and it included a scoop of ice cream. Bad: The food and service. I am still not sure who, if anyone was waiting on our table. Drinks were empty and the food took forever to come out. We also sat there a long time before anyone took our order. No veggie burger so if you don’t eat meat you can get a grilled cheese or grilled pimento sandwich. I got the pimento sandwich and it was a glob of oily cheese slapped in the middle of sandwich bread that looked toasted, not grilled. Not even cut all of the way through. That was $ 4. For what you get the prices are high. Onion rings that were burnt to a black color. No idea how the cook or server had the nerve to put them on our table. By the time we got new ones we were done eating. Fries were cold. In a nutshell nothing was good. Honestly. Nothing was special and tasty and none of us had anything that we thought was good.

This is the fifth time we have eaten at Andy’s(now HWY55). It is probably our last for a while. We appreciated the restaurant so much before when we could come and get burgers, fries and shakes for less than $ 16. With the name change, the menu changed and the prices were raised. They weren’t raised a lot but when you go from $ 5 to $ 6.99 for just a burger, it makes a big difference. Even kids night isn’t that great with kids meals being just half off after 5pm one night a week. That’s pretty sad considering there are so many places where you can get kids meals for free one day a week, all day long. The food has always been good. Their fries are great — crispy out, soft inside. The burgers are a good size and aren’t as salty as Five Guys. The shakes are really good. I had the pimento cheese bacon burger on this last trip. It was fantastic! The cheese was delicious. The service has always been okay, sometimes the waitresses are smarmy(like, you’re bothering me by being a customer here) sometimes they are good. Our waitress on Saturday was good. It’s really a shame. We thought this was such a great family-friendly restaurant for Knightdale that was reasonably priced. Now, it’s still family friendly but with the rise in prices, we won’t be back again soon.

My husband and I had dinner there the other night and our food was OK but when we saw how the wait staff was treated we almost left before we ate. The manager(at least we think she was) constantly complained at the other servers asking them to ‘hustle, hustle’. I think that made our waitress very upset, we could tell she was ready to cry. Just a suggestion to management, if you need to be mean to your staff, maybe you are in the wrong business.

I always get a little nostalgic with Andy’s Cheeseburgers because you are walking into the past with a 1950’s southern diner feel to it. I have been a customer of the franchise for years beginning in my early 20’s going to lunch with my father. I can only rate the Andy’s burger’s because it is the only thing on the menu I ever eat. Why mess with a good thing, right To the point, the Andy’s burger is the best, I personally would choose over a «5 guys» or some of the other top burger joints in the nation. They also have a variety of other foods to choose from as well as custard for dessert. Andys is only a NC business, however, the business is going nationwide very soon. With that said, the name is also changing to Hwy.55(little disappointed in this.) but another company out in Wyoming somewhere has the Andy’s cheeseburgers name trademarked. The location in Knightdale is very good. The service is very quick. and keeped very clean, The staff is friendly and works their butts off to make you experience a good one. The price of the food is fair along with the quantity of food. Only wish there was a location closer to where I work. I would definitely go more often. If you have never been I would highly recommend. PS. you must also try the custard. They give you a free sample during you meal to get you hooked and it works.

Great place to get a taste of the 50’s scenery. Nice booth seating, chairs, or bar stools. Friendly staff is mandatory in every Andy’s I have been in. This Andy’s can serve up some fast good American cooking for a decent price.
