Specialties
Green Art owner Thomas Berger combines artistic skills and highest level technical know-how to create beautiful landscapes and gardens.
One of the goals of gardening is to bring nature into our surroundings, which is best achieved with natural materials, such as granite, flagstone, and other natural stones. We also use traditional materials such as clay brick, especially if the design is in an urban setting or in order to match an architectural style, especially near historic buildings.
Green Art designs are often influenced by East Asian style, featuring natural rock boulders, evergreens and water basins. On the other hand, we also worked on many traditional New England gardens with rather formal layouts. Our plants are chosen to the specific site conditions, and in a way as to minimize maintenance.
We offer both design-only and design-and-build services, and we would love to give you a quote on your project.
History
Established in 1995.
From the start on Green Art focused on the combination of stone and plants. For 7 years we also run a retail nursery in Kittery, through which we widened our knowledge and understanding of plants.
The nursery area is now redesigned and a Sculpture Garden is being established — again a combination of plants and stone!
