Orange Grove Campground & RV Park

CAMPERS BEWARE This is poor place has a playground if you call. Basketball hoop on a maybe ¹⁵⁄₁₅ slap cement pool is green if you have kids forget it they can’t walk around no fires or fire pits very run down 99% snowbirds or permanent residents says good Sam club but I’m saying lie cause a lot of the campers look like sheds it’s say cable NONE this is one of those places that take your money and run makes you want to carry mace and or pistol no kidding

Campground was fine but traffic was horrible. Will never stay in such traffic again.

We have been coming back to OCG for about 6 years, we love all the people there and have made life long friends, this park is a jewel for quiet long time/​short time campers, thank you for making this our favorite RV park in Kissimmee fla. Barry and Heidi

People, you have been warned! Most of the people at this «campground» live here full time. There were only a few campers while we were there. My family and I actually watched one of the neighbors hoard used mattresses next to his trailer for a couple of days and when he gathered about 5 of them, he asked us if we wanted to buy one for $ 1!!! It was extremely funny and disgusting at the same time.
The playground is in despair and the bathrooms need to be remodeled.
I put my sheets into the wash after 7pm because one of my children threw up on them (he did not feel well that night) and when I went to get the sheets out of the dryers at 9pm the laundry room was closed. I called the management and asked to get my bed sheets, but they told me they would not open the laundry room because there is a sign in there that states the doors will be locked after 9pm. I slept without bed sheets that night.
We could not swim after 4pm because management stated that the pool closed at dusk. In addition, they did not heat the pool water at all even though they stated that they do.
Do not stay here. It is a junk yard!

This campground is located off 192 (irlo Bronson) near Medevil Times. We used to camp alot. then we moved to Florida. Let’s go camping for the weekend. What a great idea! Let me preface this by saying that I have never been kicked out of a campground in my life, and in my younger days I probably gave campgrounds pretty good reasons why they should have. Now I am old and boring. We checked into this campground and were impressed by how nice the woman at the front desk was. We got to our campsite and set up our tents and observed our surroundings. There was no fire pit. I went and asked at the office and she told me camp fires were not allowed. OK no smores, but I can deal with it. We had a propane stove we could cook on. We seemed to be the only «campers» Everyone else seemed to live here. Not a really scary bunch, but the trailers seemed to be in a bit of disrepair. Ok truthfully some were really scary, but most seemed fine. The entrance was nicely groomed, but the rest of the grounds seemed in disrepair and over grown. While walking my dogs, I saw a copper head snake. Being an experienced camper I immediately knew it on site. I took a picture to show Sab. I saw a guy on a golf cart emptying trash cans and I told him about it. He replied that they had no snakes of any kind much less poisonous ones. (really? this is Florida) So I showed him the picture. He told me I obviously took it somewhere else. Ok then. We played the tourist and went to Disney. Got back and had a good nights sleep. I had only paid for one night to make sure we liked the place. It was the holiday weekend. We weren’t thrilled but it was 2 hrs to set up camp, so considering 2 hours of take down and another 2 hrs to set back up, we were happy enough. When I got to the office to pay, the nice woman said «haven’t you talked to the manager?» I replied «no». She told me he had put do not extend on our site. I asked why and she said she had no idea. I asked if she could get him to come to the office and she did. What do you know? It’s Mr no snakes. He tells me we have 2 tents so we have to pay for 2 campsites or leave. I explain we have our daughter with us and she has her own tent and both tents and on the one site we occupy. He says it doesn’t matter. I am not happy but am not going to move to another campground, so I offer to pay it. (it’s only $ 30 a night). He says we still have to leave because we checked in with dogs and didn’t tell them. I tell him we did and picked the campground because it was pet friendly. In fact when we told the woman we had Border Collies she came out and met them. She backed this up. He stated «This is my campground and I can refuse service to anyone I want» We packed up and went home.
Bottom line:
Internet did not work
Pool was closed by Health Dept
Scary residents
Bad management
Good location

Stayed a few days here while working in the area. Yes it is convenient to necessities and to the attractions of the area. I thought the price was good but I was there in the off season.
Having said that, here is what bothered me. The internet was not available most of the time. Management gave weak excuses as to why it wasn’t avaialble. Really, I don’t think its a priority for them and it likely will not be fixed. Ever.
The showers were clean but there are no shelves or ledges to put your soap, shampoo, washcloth, etc on while showering (terrible shower heads too but that seems to be endemic to RV parks). The shower curtains (all of them) are so flimsy that when you turn the water on it blows out the curtain getting water all over anything that is in the shower cubicle — not even a bench there to sit on.
The entrance to the park is maintained but once inside it is all weeds and poorly maintained parking areas. I think this bothers me more than the showers.
The poorly maintained grounds are a haven for fleas and makes it so that you track more sand into your RV. Good grass would also reduce some of the erosion they are experiencing. They have a few long termers tand that is fine but some of the things that are left laying about should be tidied up since it adds to the feeling that this is a run down rv park waiting for some one to buy it, clear it and make condos.
Final words: Visusally unappealing but conveniently located I’ll pay a few more bucks per day and stay at the KOA next time.
My dog came down with a serious bacterial /​intestinal infection shortly after being in this park. Avoid!
