This storage location is located on Dyer just north of 192(Irlo Bronson). When I first rented a unit from this place I saw plenty of red flags, but I unwisely ignored them and rented a unit anyway. When I originally went into the office a person was arguing with the woman behind the desk about 2 months of charges that they said he owed. He stated that he had vacated the unit 2 months ago and was paid in full. She replied that even though he had notified them that he would be closing his account, when he took his stuff, he never notified them he was out, so they were still charging him. This went on for quite some time with the woman sporadically answer the telephone in a very angry voice. Several times she was rude to the customers calling. I made a mental note of all of this, but the location was perfect for me. I eventually rented the unit and all was well until the first month. I had problems with their on line payment system so I called to pay over the phone with my card. This was not permitted and I was told I would have to come in. I stopped by and the staff was very cold to me. I felt like they were doing me a favor by taking my payment. The next month I had the same issue, and when I went to pay I got the same attitude. On my third visit, my balance owed was 20 dollars more than it should have been. I was told they had tacked on their insurance since they had no proof of insurance on file. I stated that my homeowners insurance covered my storage and I had given them proof when I rented the unit. They told me to prove it or pay it. they would not accept payment for just the rent on the unit even when I told them I would fax it when I got home. This got me a bit ticked off, so I drove home, got the policy, returned, and made the payment after the took off the insurance I hadn’t asked for. About two weeks I received an email that stated I owed $ 20 and since it hadn’t been paid on time I owed a $ 50 late fee. I called and they told me it was for insurance and they had no record of me having my own insurance. I stated I would be moving out of my unit. They replied that I needed to give 30 days notice in writing, so I did. When I brought the notice I paid the current month and the next. I moved out my stuff, and remembering my first visit. I notified the office when I was out. Not one but two months later I received a bill which stated I owed 2 months rent plus $ 20 dollars for each month for insurance and a $ 50 late fee. Did I mention when I rented the unit, I had to buy their over priced lock, even though I owned the exact same lock, which I planned to use. Beware of this place! Bottom line: Rude and unfriendly staff hidden fees incompetent bookeeping
