High Point World Resort

Almost a two star rating, but my family got a significant discount to stay here, so I can’t say it was a terrible value. I’m far from picky or high maintenance, but there was quite a bit lacking at this resort, even considering the price paid.
There was nothing notably wonderful or terrible about our stay here, the villas were quite spacious and comfortable while the décor was on the dated and tacky side. The grounds were well kept, but the pool was ordinary and very little was offered as far as recreational activities. The TV’s offered the most basic of channels and while the resort claims to offer WIFI, we were never able to get a connection.
I would probably be willing to overlook all of those things if I weren’t so put off by their towel policy. We were staying there for about two weeks, and since it is a time share, did not expect full housekeeping service every day, but were surprised that nobody offered us or left us clean towels. At that point I noticed a flyer in the room explaining that you must request fresh towels on one specific day of the week, or else be charged for them! I noticed this flyer the day after their designated towel exchange day, but didn’t think requesting more towels after several days would be treated as an unreasonable request. We really did not want to wait another week for clean ones.
When I called housekeeping, I was lectured about their rigid towel exchange schedule, and told she’ll «see what I can do». Eventually towels arrived to the room, but I was and still am unhappy with the whole situation.

When I hear the word resort, I think of things like «all inclusive», «amenities», or «luxury». While High Point World Resort would have you believe they fit these categories, don’t let the inflated name fool you. This place is nothing more than an apartment complex.
The main lobby, or welcome center, reminded me of the movie Vacation when they encountered a watermelon eating front desk clerk while renting a tent for the night. The gentleman at the desk here was nice and professional but the small physical layout was very unimpressive.
As far as the room itself, it was a 2 bedroom, 3 bath unit that could sleep 5 – 6 people (the only positive about this place, in my opinion). The 2 bedrooms being upstairs. The floors, walls, and kitchen appliances looked old and worn. There were stains on the carpets and hair on the bathroom floor and shower. The television reception was horribly fuzzy. The bed mattresses were of the lowest quality and every shift in movement brought about coil on coil noise. We also found an ant in the bathroom and a couple in the kitchen.
If you’re a large group who wants to be close to Disney but don’t necessarily mind or care about the finer things you can have when staying away from home than this place will be just fine for you. If you love staying at nice resorts and enjoy that hotel life than you should look elsewhere. When one small pool is your only amenity, that just isn’t enough to have the word luxury in your advertising.

Stayed here with friends in the duplex two bedroom unit with pull out sofa in the downstairs living room. We were 5 people and comfortable with the amount of beds and three bathrooms. The sun room off the living room was a great place to have breakfast, lunch, cocktails in the evening, or just to use to talk on the phone in private. It was great to have three bathrooms all with showers and two with bath tubs. The kitchen had everything you needed except the food. Three televisions also were a nice touch, with the one in the living room being a flat screen and quite large. The location of the resort was good too, just off the main road so that it is tucked away and quiet, but close to many restaurants and Target for groceries. The pool, grills, hot tub are right off a path which we walked to from our sun room. The hot tub was clean and well maintained, we didn’t use the pool, but it looked nice. All in all to have a clean «apartment» for 5 people with a full kitchen and all the other amenities this place is a steal. It was also very close to Disney, pretty much a straight shot once we exited the resort for the main road. I would certainly return.

We stayed with friends in a two-​story townhouse style unit. It was very clean, roomy enough easily for 5 or 6, and had 3 bathrooms. The 3^rd bathroom and sleep sofa on the first floor makes it a good option for for several couples. However, there were not a lot of amenities. The pool and hot tub was nice, but there was no fitness center or restaurant on premises. A good base for visiting DisneyWorld or golfing. Plenty of restaurants in the area. Well maintained.
