History

Established in 2012.

Pickler’s Famous is the result of a three-year historic renovation project to update this 10,000 square foot facility with modern amenities, while also adding back some of its turn-of-the-century charm.

After originally opening as an old-fashioned ice cream parlor and soda fountain for a brief period in 2011, the owners retooled it as Kirksville’s première event venue space, with a 98-seat theater upstairs for performances and other events.

The building is listed on the National, State and Local Historic Registers of Places and located in the historic downtown Kirksville historic district.

Meet the Business Owner

Todd K.

Business Owner

Todd & his wife put three years of their own sweat into a historic renovation of the Pickler building before opening Pickler’s Famous. Todd joins his wife, Bich, join together in the day-to-day management of this odd and exciting event space, in an effort to make it even awesomer, if that’s even a word.

When he had spare time, he’d enjoy performing with the local community theater group, magic, filmmaking, traveling, swimming and scuba diving, watching movies and playing video games. He was the official stadium announcer for the Truman Bulldog football games. As former mayor and city councilman of Kirksville, he’s been heavily involved in the community. And he enjoys white sandy beaches and long walks in the park.
