Waxing the City

Coming from a long time Waxer in Issaquah. I was hesitant about trying another. Our Esthecian should always provide a personal, pleasant relationship w/​us. Although, I have nothing of interest to say about «Mint Salon» & or Dondi in Issaquah. I do have many positive thoughts about «WAXING THE CITY.» Thank You All.

Suzanne was so great! This was my first time getting a full Brazilian and I’m so glad I had her as my waxer. She was super sweet, professional and kept me talking :) I was pretty nervous but she totally put me at ease. The pricing was great! I got 50% off for my first time in. Also, the receptionist was super friendly. In fact, I was running late (405 traffic!) and when I called she totally put me at ease and made sure I got my full time. didn’t need it though Suzanne was a waxing machine! The only thing that was a little bit stressful was finding a parking spot (after a certain time the garage isn’t open) on the streets, but no worse than any of the downtown Kirkland shops and this place is in a way more convenient location. Will def be back. Thanks Suzanne!

I’ve been all over the city looking for a top notch waxing salon… well look no further! Waxing the City is the only place you need to go. The staff was very accommodating, knowledgeable and engaging. The salon is super clean, which is super important for me. Megan was my waxer and she did a great job! I have very thin brows that are super light, and she made them look amazing! This is my new favorite place and I would recommend it to anyone!

Came here while I was visiting my mom on leave for a few weeks and needed a touch up on my lip and brows. I can’t remember the lovely ladies’ names but they are all so adamant on removing every little single bit of fuzz that you might have going on, which is awesome! They carefully listened to what I wanted when it came to shape and also gave my younger sister and I tips on how to induce growth in sparse areas. The only thing I wasn’t too fond of is the hard wax but mainly because I’m not used to it. The pricing for their service is reasonable but they also sell beauty products. I browsed through their collection and found the prices of those items to be steep. I’d recommend going to a Beaty supply store for that type of merchandise. Oh, they also give out grab bags full of samples and chocolate!

Brand new facility and business. Tried this service on a new client special. Very very clean and professional place. Online booking for appointment is handy, but don’t like having to put CC information down in order to book. An appointment is always a set 55minutes slot, whether you need 55minutes or have less to wax off. Regular price reflects the level of service.

I ended up coming here because I read that they never double dip and the first wax was 50% off. I had gotten a Brazilian 2 weeks before at a different salon and wasn’t too impressed so I wanted a place that was a bit more professional. I worked with Ebony and she was so sweet and funny! She made sure I was comfortable and made sure to get as much hair as she could (my hair is a bit stubborn and I was super sensitive). Since I left, I’ve only gotten 3 ingrowns, which I had over a dozen from the last salon. So that was quite the improvement! My hair is growing out super fast but I’m hoping that with time it will slow down. Definitely going back though!

Colleen is amazing! She is a waxing goddess and will make your brows look better then you could have ever dreamed. I have had so many compliments on my brows (which never happens) since Colleen has started taking care of them. Everyone that works here is super friendly and makes you feel so welcome the moment you walk in the door. I cannot recommend this place enough.

In drive from Renton to get my brows, lip and brazilian with Colleen. I would drive from anywhere to come here. She is FANTASTIC! I love coming here!

Seriously, this girl is the best. Makes you feel super comfortable, she’s crazy professional and always happy to see her clients. There’s no need for any of that «Brazilian Yoga» where you have to climb into a whole bunch of weird and awkward poses to make sure the waxing is successful. She has her techniques DOWN and it’s more like a spa/​relaxation/​girl-​gab-​catch-​up-​time than eye-​watering-​trying-​not-​to-​scream time. Honestly, I barely even feel it.
Colleen is also great at educating you about the best ways to avoid some of the unfortunate aspects of hair removal (i.e. ingrown hairs, or as I like to call them, Satan’s Whisker), and she doesn’t try to sell you something you don’t need, but will offer suggestions if I ask. I see Colleen for my hoo-​ha and eyebrows — a dynamite combination if I do say so myself. I also just found out she does Brazilians for men! I plan on dragging my boyfriend in as soon as I perfect the correct dose of rohypnol so he won’t fight me.
All in all, A+ around the clock for Colleen and Waxing The City’s amazing office staff! Love all these ladies.

Had my first appointment here today with Colleen, she was awesome! I love the vibe of this place.

I just had what I consider to be the most pleasant waxing job AND perfect brow tint at Waxing The City! It was my first time there and they use a different kind of wax that doesn’t seem to hurt as much… a hard wax, I believe? My technician was Marni and she was a doll. Very friendly, very knowledgable and put me at ease right away. She told me that all of the Waxing The City technicians are «Cerologists» (are required to graduate from a specialised training in Denver so they ARE experts in their field. Plus, I was complaining about my «disappearing, thinning eyebrows» and Marni offered to tint them for me! She did a great job! And, WTC is by far the cleanest salon I have ever been in and their prices are very reasonable for such excellent service! Please thank her for me!

I had an amazing experience with Colleen! She made me feel very welcome and we clicked right away with our common interests. It was my second time getting a brazilian wax and I didn’t have a very good experience the first time. I’m so happy I chose this store — it was great!

This place is by far the best waxing studio I’ve ever been to. The waxing rooms are clean, the services are great, but what definitely sets Waxing the City part is its customer service. Everyone who works here is friendly and attentive, and it’s great that they go the extra mile for the clients.
For returning customers, there is a sign near the front desk that welcomes the clients coming in that day with their first names, and the cerologists (waxers) are all awesome at waxing and make sure that you’re satisfied with your wax.
First-​time clients get a handwritten thank-​you card mailed by the cerologist you saw that day, but it’s even more special that you may still get them as returning clients. Colleen sent me this a couple of weeks ago and this pretty much sums up how great this place is. If you want a good wax with reasonable prices and top-​notch service, come here.

I see Ebony every few weeks and she is SO personable and SO thorough. Everybody on staff seems to be really nice! I never thought I’d be a «waxing person», but Waxing the City makes it easy and, pardon the pun, painless.

I had the pleasure of working with Marni and is what I like to call a waxing GURU!!! She is a licensed master aesthetician and the education and experience truly shows throughout her work. Marni knows a lot about skin and beauty and will always guide you in the right direction on whatever concerns or advice you may have.
She listens to her clients wants and needs without any disappointment and what stands out the most is her friendly and outgoing personality!
I recommend using Marni with enthusiasm, she will surely meet your expectations!

Colleen is super super awesome. OMG she is the best esthetician I have ever come across. She is so painstaking throughout the waxing session. She made sure every hair got out and checked it not once but thrice. Never encountered anyone who is so nice, caring and meticulous. She stood for such a long time while doing my waxing but never complained and was great in her job. She totally transformed my body by doing such an excellent job. Absolutely love her. I will go back again thanks to Colleen.

After a 25 min wait for my scheduled appointment, technician did not show up and was with the previous client.
Receptionist suggested that I reschedule the appointment and she would call me to confirm once she had a conversation with her manager.
I waited for a week before writing this review. It doesn’t matter if they offer discounts on services if they don’t care about new clients. Plus all that paperwork they make customers fill out is pointless if they can’t keep up their word/​appointment.
Needless to say the staff are unprofessional !

I’ve been getting waxed for many years and I’m pretty particular about the whole process. I’m new to WA and was dreading trying to find the «perfect» (to me) place and aesthetician. After doing some research I decided to give Waxing the City a try. I am so glad I did! The place is new, clean, bright and sterile, yet stylish, welcoming and comfortable. I LOVE the easy online booking. The receptionist (wish I could remember her name) was pleasant, helpful and friendly. My aesthetician, Colleen, was pure awesomeness. Professional, nice, experienced and made the Brazilian process comfortable. Let’s be real, it’s awkward having someone you don’t know all up in your real personal space. I prefer someone to just get down to business and get the job done and get it done right. That is exactly what she did. She asked questions about my preference and went above my expectations. She was always making sure I was comfortable. I am happy I have found her and a place I like!
Give yourself time to find parking, it’s not that there isn’t any, it’s just a little confusing to navigate around the building at first (well it was for me at least)!

Was my first time getting waxed ever, and was super nervous to get a Brazilian, but they were so professional and I felt very comfortable. Ebony is awesome. She does a great job and is fun to talk with. I highly recommend this place.

I love Diana!!! She is by far most favorite person to wax my brows. She is very meticulous, making sure they are perfect and a bonus was her sweet and funny personality. I will only let her do all my waxing when I am in the area. Extremely pleased with her work!

Most importantly this was the BEST and LEAST painful Brazilian I’ve ever had, Diana did an AMAZING job. I’ve gone to other waxing studio’s and my experience here exceeded all of my (very high) expectations. Diana was especially engaging and I was very comfortable, not something I necessary expect when I have someone yanking my lady bits lol. What made this brazilian experience better than the 5 star service I’ve had is the hard wax strips were slightly smaller and the application placement kept any pain from being overwhelming. The front desk staff was very welcoming and I’ll definitely be back!!! Extra perk is half off any service as a new customer!!!

I drive from Ballard to Kirkland, I-​5 to 520 to I-​405, to get my waxing needs taken care of at Waxing the City. Brazilian waxes are a necessary evil, and Julia does an outstanding job! Her calm demeanor puts you at ease and makes the experience as comfortable as it can be. She pays close attention to your discomfort, if there is any, and adjusts as she can, and is always professional and respectful. Front desk staff are friendly and welcoming, and the building is brand new, clean. The wax that they use truly makes the discomfort very minimal. I’ve been waxing for years and the wax they use is honestly the best. And the prices are outstanding! It really doesn’t get any better than Waxing the City.

Booking is a cinch online and the studio is actually only a 5 minute walk from me. The place is only about a month old and everything is beautiful & new. It’s strictly a waxing studio only, no salon services here which I’m actually happy about that they specialize in one thing. I arrived about 4 minutes after my appt time (bad me) but the girl at the front desk checked me in quickly and got me a sheet of paper to sign & initial. Julia then came out shortly and showed me back to the room. Julia is amazing! I had a simple upper lip wax and she really got every single hair that was there! She used their signature hard wax from Spain that really makes the hair removal process nearly painless and she also used a little soft wax with a strip for a few stragglers. She wanted to get them all! She was so personable, professional and very precise. Prices are great and they don’t take tips, they just ask that you basically spread the word about their amazing place to others. I already have another lip wax and a bikini wax scheduled with Julia down the road. Love Waxing the City!

The building is brand new, modern and beautiful. Parking was a bit of a pain with a mostly reserved garage that is a bit tricky to navigate BUT I arrived less than 5 minutes before my appointment and didn’t have much time to hunt for other parking (this is completely my own fault as I found out there is another parking lot besides the garage I didn’t see!) I was greeted warmly, and checked in quickly. Julia was my Certologist (I’m not sure that is correct, but she was the gal who provided the waxing for me!)
I am blown away by the fabulous service today from Julia! I had my brows done as well as a Brazilian and for a waxing appointment– it was top notch. Julia was professional, courteous and caring. She made sure I was comfortable with everything done, and was extremely respectful and actually helpful in making the process as painless and quick as possible.
I’ve read about their particular wax being special somehow. Fancy stuff made in Span, I think. Either way, I thought waxing is waxing and ouch either way. It’s something that needs to be done, like the dentist and no one really loves. After being a skeptic; whatever is in their wax DID make a difference. The brow wax felt like pulling off a bandaid, and didn’t make my eyes water or me sniffle at all. Even the brazillian was more comfortable than my last experience, I did feel like it may have taken a few more passes of the wax to remove all the hair than I recall from any other appointment or waxer I’ve seen, but it was so much more gentle. Anytime she waxed an area more than once, it was never irritated from it.
Overall, it was completely worth the almost hour drive each way from North Marysville to Kirkland for the appointment. Prices are absolutely reasonable for the services provided and the level of care and knowledge provided by Julia. She was amazing professionally and super nice to chat with and put me at ease.
I would recommend Waxing The City (Julia in particular!) to anyone who is in search of a high quality and professional service in a clean and modern facility.
