I bought a car a couple weeks that has had some major flooding and according to the dealership they couldn’t figure out what was wrong, so I called Buttera.
He said they were fully booked on the day I wanted to come in but squished me into their schedule anyway. They let me drop off my car and called me within just a few hours. The news I got was not great, but it was honest and they let me know everything they found that needed attention. They also found out where the leak was coming from.
I VERY MUCH appreciate that they were nice enough to accommodate me and helped me get to the bottom of my car’s issues in just a couple hours. If I end up with another German car, I will definitely be bringing it to Buttera. Come here if you want an accurate honest opinion for a fair price.

Misdiagnosed my 2003 Turbo S and couldn’t find the problem I went in to have them look at and created other issued to jack up the bill. I was completely unimpressed with this place.

I took my Audi A4 1.8T Avant Quattro to Matt at Buttera religiously for the 3 years I owned it after being burnt by other Audi mechanics in the area. Unfortunately I gave them more business than I would have liked to as the Audi I bought I feel was neglected by the previous owners maintenance wise.
Their prices are fair (not the cheapest in town but well worth the peace of mind that your car will be maintained to the highest standard without paying Barrier prices) and the work they do is second to none in the area to my experience. They are friendly, prompt, and very articulate in their ability to communicate your car’s maintenance and operational needs.
I would recommend anyone with a VW or Audi to bring their vehicle here to have peace of mind that the work will be done right and you won’t be overcharged.

I recently moved to Bellevue, and was looking for a place to service my VW after the long cross-​country drive that I had just completed. Judging from the reviews that Buttera Motors had here on Unilocal,I decided to drive out and give them a try.
I was not disappointing in the slightest, I told Josh what I thought was wrong with the car, and they went to work. An hour later they had figured out that the problem was with my transmission fluid and that the tranny case had a small leak in it.
I scheduled an appointment for the next Thursday at 7:30am. When I arrived Josh already had my paperwork ready for me to sign to authorize the work that needed to be done. While they were working on the car I took a stroll down to the road to a couple of strip malls and killed some time. Five or so hours later, I walked back to check on the progress of the car, and saw that the owner Matt had just finished taking it out for a test drive to make sure that everything was working fine.
Finally, they charged me less that the original quoted price, and gave me a discount for being a first time customer.
As long as I live within 100 miles of Bothell, I will never take my VW anywhere but Buttera Motors. Great Service, Great People, and Great Prices.

I just got home with my newly repaired car and I am so happy with the service I recieved at Buttera Motors. When my check engine light came on, I called my dealership and they told me they wanted me to authorize $ 300 worth of work before they even looked at it. So I got on Unilocal,found this place with the great previous reviews, and drove my car over.
I honestly couldn’t have asked for better service. They are so friendly, they did the work quickly, and for a great price. So glad I found them because I no longer have to go to my dealership to get work done. In the unfortunate event that something else goes wrong with my car, I will definitley be taking it back to Buttera Motors.

As all Volkswagen owners know, they are a pain in the butt to have serviced because many places don’t want to touch them. After a record terrible experience with Carter Volkswagen, I was searching other options.
My Dad mentioned Buttera Motors in Bothell which was not the most convenient location but I was desperate, and would rather have no car at all then give any more of my hard earned cash to Carter.
This was the best auto service experience I could have hoped for. These guys were so nice to me, explained all my options for a drivable car, didn’t try to pressure me into anything, explained which problems could be avoided for awhile, how to extend dealing with said problems and charged me much less than Carter quoted which going by past experiences was just a lie anyway.
Also, if you go here, ask to use the bathroom. It’s in a strange back building and very clean, but you get to have a look at the back yard situation. It’s chalk full of amazing ghost VW’s in all different colors. I have my eye on the moldy little sky blue Carmengia.

First, I have to say the people who work here are VERY nice, honest, and will work with you in getting your VW fixed at a reasonable price. I took my car to one shop (wont say where, to protect the guilty) ha. and they said I should just buy a new car. (Um, thanks not an option at the moment!) Took it to Buttera, after talking with my fam, come to find out my Grandma, Mom, and brother had all taken their VW’s there (when they had them) and always were pleased with their service. Soo long story short, been taking my ’95 Jetta there for 3 years now. Let me tell you, i’ve spent some serious $$$ there, but the total bill has ALWAYS been less than they quoted. Oil changes are kinda pricey, so stick with the major stuff, tune ups, belts, hoses, ect. Wont try to «upsell» you, or rip you off. Coming from a girl, who has had numerous mechanics tell me this or that was wrong with my car, (when i just want an oil change!) I get a second opinion from Buttera and they say, nope, thats just fine. Buttera: professional, honest, reliable.

I have been taking my cars to Buttera Motors for around 15 years. Great family owned business. Always fair prices, great work and fantastic people!

It’s a miracle, my VW engine light is OFF! And for those of you who are VW owners know exactly what I mean.
My experience with Buttera was awesome as I had some anxiety about taking my Jetta to a dealer to get it «fixed». A good friend recommend that I take my car here. The mechanic fixed my car in ONE day andthe «umph» is back. A lovely sensor triggered 5 more so my car was very sluggish.
They are a family owned business and have been around since the 1930’s. They are kind, professional, and FAST. A no nonsense place and I can appreciate that when it comes to my car sitting in the shop. The cost of fixing my car was reasonable and was NOT outrageous.
So, if your VW engine light is blinking (blinking is very very bad) … you better take to Buttera and get it fixed ASAP.
