Tom Seal, DDS

I have been a patient at Dr seals office for a few years! He has always been so great to myself and my whole family! Our experience w his staff as well as Dr seals office has always been pleasant. To walk in and feel like family is a great place. My son who is 3 loves to go to the dentist and not all people can say that about their kids. Dr seal has quickly recommended and never pushed me in the wrong direction, if thought I was gonna need a crown verses a filling or braces or wisdom teeth removed he has always told me the best and worst scenario, I have found a wonderful place w a fun spirited staff.

My case was very similar I also needed a simple filling for a cavity and Dr. Seal recommended a ceramic filling instead of a resin one for my cavity.
They cost was over $ 1000 for just one tooth.
The most frustrating and painful part was the billing process.
The billing office did not follow up with insurance company either and it took them over a year to resolve the billing, I have to call the insurance and be very proactive following up to avoid unnecessary collection.
A year later they still are sending me statements with finance charges and late fees due to their negligence.
Aloud chats in the office and jokes are very annoying and unprofessional.
I would not recommend Dr. Seal Dentist services.

My family has seen Dr. Seal for many years. Recently things have turned worse in terms of our experience with him. We don’t have any questions with his skill and knowledge with dentistry, but in practice we don’t feel like we can trust Dr. Seal’s advice anymore.
This year when my wife needed a simple filling for one of her lower right tooth with cavities, Dr. Seal recommended other options such as implants and pin-​in crown, which costs more, and my wife felt she did not need it at this time.
At the appointment they took an X-​ray of the tooth with cavities, and it did not show to my wife a bad decay, so my wife felt it made sense to go with basic resin filling as opposed to other options, since this would not be visible and is more natural. Dr. Seal, however, kept recommending other options instead. Cost wise, a filling costs about $ 200, but the optioned Dr. Seal kept presenting (an implant crown or regular pin-​in crown) would cost up to thousands of dollar for one tooth!
My wife decided against Dr. Seal’s recommendations and asked for a filling, and then Dr. Seal refused to perform this option. I have never had a dentist refused a patient asking for a service which she needed. WIthout any other options, my wife had to get a basic filling with another dentist and it’s working wonderfully. She feels that she may need a crown later on, but not in her current age and condition.
My wife was also charged $ 50 for an appointment which she cancelled the day before for my daughter, and she left a message a day before this appointment to cancel, but still we were charged.
Another major concern is that the billing office does not follow up with insurance company well, so we ended up building up finance charges with their office. These are late fees not because of what we did, and any good dental office should always pro-​actively follow up with the insurance companies promptly for payment so we don’t end up incurring these charges.
In the end, for the principle of poor administrative support, lack of good customer care and customer focus, refusing the customer’s request for filling instead of crown, we do not recommend Dr. Seal.

Tom is an amazing dentist. I have had multiple dentists over the years and he is by far the most fun to be around, and most attentive to his job.
The office feels very much like a family as there is lots of back and forth conversations that lead to a friendly, comfortable atmosphere.
Most important, I feel Tom has skills and awareness that no other dentist possesses. He loves learning and applying different schools of knowledge to his passion in order to find even small ways to improve. His craft is so developed that you can find life long issues resolved here routinely. Even if you are just looking for a cleaning, the experience at Tom’s office feels safer, and more comfortable than anywhere else I’ve been by far.
Of course there will be people out there who may not feel this is the dental office for them; however, I strongly recommend everyone give them at least a few chances to meet your needs.
In reading through the comments below I saw one negative review about the office being too busy. Tom had a staff problem during that time, that while more complex than usual, was handled as well as it could be. Problems happen in life, and while some may find that experience too negative to return… I personally feel Tom’s office handled their issue as responsibly and compassionately as possible. I like knowing that at their worst, they were still better than most.
As for the other negative comment about anesthesia, I wasn’t there so I can’t claim anything for sure. Clearly they didn’t feel comfortable there. I personally trust Tom and would listen to him. He is very competent and was likely giving advice beyond what you’d get at another dentist’s office. Maybe that seemed odd to the patient. I’d wager that if they were more patient they would have realized their treatment was superior to what they would have found elsewhere. Then again even if it is superior treatment, if the patient isn’t comfortable with it, it doesn’t matter. Obviously that person was better suited for a different dental office.
So to sum it up, if you haven’t been here, I’d definitely recommend trying them out. A bad experience here is almost certainly more rare than at any other dental office.

I had a cracked filling and needed a cleaning. My wife had found this dentist on the internet because he did the stuff that she needed (waterlase, nitrous) plus this office had these positive user recommendations, but here is what I encountered…
The regular hygienist was out, so I had my initial evaluation and cleaning done by a substitute hygienist. This was fine, except that the hygienist couldn’t get anyone to help her do my initial dental evaluation. So, I ended up writing down the codes myself as she called them out. For the gum evaluation, she kind of had to do it all herself. This took forever. After 2 hours, I still had not even seen the dentist himself and I had to leave. The receptionist was on the phone so I couldn’t make a follow-​up appointment to get the dentist to evaluate my cracked filling.
This was pretty bad, but the worst thing is that the entire 30 – 40 minutes that the hygienist was trying to get someone to help her, someone was laughing loudly and telling jokes. This all seems very unprofessional and I’ve never seen a dentist office run this way. Needless to say I will not go back.

Dr. Seal and his staff are great, I can see the improvement in my daughters teeth already! As a single mom finding a dentist and orthodontist that has Saturday appointments as well as early evening appointments has been huge.
Some people may see his functional versus glamorous office and decide to go elsewhere… that would be a big mistake. I like being able to get my daughters teeth cleaned and her braces taken care of all in one sitting. I’m paying a reasonable price for top notch professional service.

Bottom line — Great Dentist.
I never look forward to going to the dentist but Dr Seal does his best to make the experience painless and fix the issue asap.
The staff is very friendly and it is easy to make appointments. I agree with Rainier S review as well. Nicest dentist I have been too. Have recommended to friends

Tom Seal is probably the coolest dentist in the world. And that’s saying a lot coming from me. Because most dentists are devil spawn who want to insert lots of sharp, painful objects into your mouth… and then they get upset because you won’t voluntarily submit to their torture every six months.
But Dr. Seal is really cool. He can help you if you’re afraid. He really explains what is going on to you. You can bring someone back with you if you’re afraid. And he’s good at what he does too.
