My girlfriend and I had visited the Skylite Cellars winery in Walla Walla a couple months ago, and we really enjoyed their wines. When we were in Kirkland last weekend, we decided to stop in at their Kirkland tasting room. The tasting room has a bar area, several tables, and some very comfortable armchairs. By that point in the day, we were pretty tired so we gravitated straight to the armchairs. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable about the wines. We were impressed by the fact that all of the wines we tasted at the Kirkland location were different than the ones we tried at the Walla Walla tasting room. All of the wines we had tasted just fine. I would definitely recommend Skylite Cellars for wine tasting in Kirkland.

Got a «Living Social» deal and it was about to expire… My husband and I decided to go last weekend. The 2 girls there were really great, they were friendly and welcoming even to the swarms of people coming in last minute to claim their deals! The deal was: Wine tasting for 2, and 3 Take home bottles of HINEY wine! They have great tasting wines! I am usually not a huge red wine fan, but every one that I tried was great. My favorite was the white one of course. Overall a great experience, and great wines!

We came as part of the recent Groupon. Gotta say, the wine was impressive. I especially loved the Rose. Sadly, we didn’t really get the opportunity to chat with the«winetender» about the wines as the place was a tad bit busy. Maybe next time though. There are a few more reds we would like to try and I, personally, would love to learn more about this independent, family biz.

What a surprise! We came here on a Living Social for $ 22 and 3 bottles of a wine they call Big Red Hiney(there is a whole story behind it… you’ll have to go to get the story). My first impression when I got the Living Social, I thought«$ 22? How good can this be?», but something told me to get it anyway. It’s a family owned winery and Sharon(their tasting manager) met us at their tasting room in Kirkland(located in the back of a strip of stores… don’t let it fool you. It’s a nice comfortable tasting room). We tasted a few wines and I was shocked how good they were. The surprise was their Syrah… THE best wine we had on this trip. And we had quite a few tasting throughout the Willamette Valley. Their Cabernet/Syrah/Merlot was pretty good too. We didn’t taste the«Big Red Hiney», but it’s just a different mix of the previously mentioned Cab mix(less Syrah and more Merlot). If it’s as good, this was a super Living Social deal. Their prices are very competitive and the Syrah is a steal at $ 29. It is really that good… one of the best wines I’ve tasted(and that includes some superb ones while in New Zealand). This was definitely a great way to end the trip. Sharon was a delight, the wines were great and I’ve got their info… they ship to CT! I’ll talk it up at work and make an order. It’s nice to be surprised sometimes… nice job!

Walked by after getting lunch in the area on Saturday. I am not well versed in wine, but I loved their Cab Sauv Reserve as well as their Merlot. I didn’t try their white — which they only make one white a year… or something like that. Small winery, but fantastic wines. The staff at the tasting room was really really nice and had lots of knowledge about wine and random things about this winery. It was great chatting with her. Great tasting room as well. Nice re-use of old wine barrels. :) Didn’t get a bottle this time, but will in the future. Will like to stop by during their art/wine walks which I believe are every second Thursday of the month. Check on that. $ 5 tastings.

I got the wonderful opportunity to play here with my friend. We played a few songs and tasted wine. The atmosphere was very weloming and I really enjoyed their Syrah. I will definitely check this place out with some friends when I don’t have a gig to play. :)

L.O.V.E. This is a family owned winery– such a great atmosphere when you walk into the tasting room. If you get to know the owners, you will understand how much pride they take in their wine. They have an amazing selection, and you should definitely go in and check them out. This tasting room opened recently and although its back off the street– its worth your time to pop in sometime. If you’re ever in Walla Walla, they have the cutest winery to stop in at as well. AMAZING wine :)
