Signature Independent

Honest about what needs to be repaired and what can wait. They even fixed a small scratch on my front bumper (magically), and fixed my tail light warning light without notice! They also do a quick vacuum /​clean-​up for the interior after the fix. I love this place!

They did my oil change in March and said that my 325xi is leaking oil. Come to find out I just got my oil change few days ago and they did not bother to replace the oil filter cap and that was why my car was leaking oil… will never come back here. Will also tell my friends not to do business with them. You can’t tell me my car is leaking oil and not replace the parts I’ve paid for!!!

Very honest people, the prices are fair. It’s a real gem in kirkland! Love this place.

Like all Unilocalers have said, Ricks shop is the most honest, fair shop around. I took my 2003 325xi to him until my sister drove it to CA. Since my new 12×3 is still under warranty I’ve had to take it to dealer repeated times for same issue, lifters ticking at cold start, sadly no fix. I can’t wait til it passes warranty miles so I can take it straight to Rick. He’s the most dependable and trusted repair shop.

I wish I can say that I’ve had a great experience like the rest of the reviews on here, but I must say my experience has been sub par.
Being brand new to the area and moving cross-​country, I took my car in for a window regulator issue and what I classified as either an alignment or tire/​wheel balancing issue. I get a call back saying that the issue was that my car needed an alignment so i agreed to move forward with it. The guys did a great job fixing the window issue, but I can’t necessarily say the alignment met the bar. About 3 weeks after, the issues started coming back. The alignment seems to have temporarily fixed things but there must have been an underlying issue that was not caught. Considering that this facility claims to be BMW specialists, you would think these issues would have been accurately diagnosed.
Fast forward to April 2015, I continued to have these issues and called back to see if I can get a print out of the alignment specs. Typically, most reputable shops will give you a print out of your specs pre and post alignment. This was not provided at the time of invoice. When I called to ask for a copy, I was told that they do not keep these records. I almost feel like either a) alignment wasn’t properly done, if at all or b) this shop does not care to keep customers long term as most shops would keep their customers’ records.
I can’t say I recommend this place and regretfully won’t be coming back. There is stiff competition around these parts for BMW specialists. I will have to take my business elsewhere.

After a numerous frustrating visits to BMW Bellevue, my faith is restored now that I’ve found Signature Independent. It’s not often you find a place you can trust to give you sound advice, and is honest in the process. .
After finding an issue with a control arm on my car, Rick actually called to see if that part was covered by the warranty I was still under. Just shows you that he’ll do what’s right for the customer if it means saving them money, and him not getting that business right then and there. Long term vision like that simply does not exist in this business. I’ll be a repeat customer as long as I own a BMW.

I have used them for a couple years now on my BMW. They have always been very honest. No surprises, or random suggestions for things to fix or replace that don’t really need it. I have even had a break down and popped in unscheduled and they got me going again in less than 2 hrs. They spend a lot of time trying to figure things out to do the work right the first time.

When you own a BM TroubleYou you want to have a good shop when the «Check Wallet» light comes on. I’d read the excellent reviews here and wanted to get my own sense of the shop ethos with small repair issues.
My lighter didn’t work (to charge my phone), I needed new wiper blades, and a fog light bulb was burnt out. I dropped by without an appointment fully expecting to have to make one and return at a future point.
The owner Rick introduced himself, as did his son Eric. Rick asked what I was in for, and then said they’d do it immediately.
Instead of being greedy, they charged me one half-​hour labor total for all three items, and thereby earned my trust for future repairs. That is why Signature BMW is a five star business.

Signature with Rick and Eric is a great place to get your BMW serviced. I took my 2011 328x in for oil change and fixing headlight. They diagnosed some other issues and were able to fix them quickly. Friendly service, drop box and customer pickup to and from work. Rick and Eric were both super friendly. I will bring my car back here for service.

The other reviews don’t lie. Signature is a great shop! They do quality work at a very reasonable price. And they did a great job working with my extended warranty company to get my repairs covered.
They are fair and honest. I will continue bringing my BMW here for service.

Signature and Rick are the place to go for BMW service. Great diagnostics, speedy fixes/​car returns, friendly staff and recommendations to save a customer money are what comes to mind quickly. If you own a BMW and want to have the best service in the area, look no further!

This BMW repair facility is simply the best.
I own a BMW 5 and X Series. Prior to using Signature Independent BMW, I had been taking my car to the dealer; what a mistake. Although the mechanic and service advisor at the dealerships are good, the service facility is the dealer’s main source of revenue and profit; their high prices reflect that.
Rick and his staff at Signature Independent BMW provide excellent service and stand behind their work. I have never been to a repair facility that does the work right and is genuinely interested in saving you money. Signature Independent BMW has gained a customer for life.

Rick is very very well versed in BMW repair and his honesty, integrity have made me a customer for life. I was his first customer ever at another location and since then have never been to a dealership for service/​parts.

OK. Now I’m no rookie when it comes to working on cars. I’ve rebuilt engines, removed and replaced rear ends, replaced U joints, replaced ignition systems and hard wired Kill switches. So when I thought I could just hard wire my radar detector into the fuse box of my ’07 BMW 335i hardtop convertible… I thought, this should not be a problem. This fantasy could not have been further from the truth. Disaster… or so I thought.
I dove into this project over the weekend, and after a bit of trial and error, I realized I had created some serious issues. My hardtop would not go up, my nav was dead in the water, my turn signals would work, I thought I had fried something serious. I let it sit over night thinking it would reset… no. We took it for a drive the next day and had low fuel warning, pull over to fill the tank and did so. It only took about a couple of bucks before filling the fill hole with a pool of gas. Obviously, the gas gauge was also affected.
I looked on line for a dealership or BMW service provider and came across Signature Independent. They had great reviews and I knew that the BMW dealership would probably give me the evil eye for trying to add a wire to the fuse box.
I made an appointment and vaguely alluded to the fact that I had done something odd. I was a little embarrassed. Rick (owner — BMW Master Mechanic), Daniel (Front Desk schmoozer and BMW mechanic), and Lea (wonderful daughter of Rick) were sooooo understanding once I came clean. The repairs took only a day and included a full system fault reset and some adjustments to my fuse box. When I picked up my car everything looked great except for one thing. That dang gas gauge still read empty. I brought Rick out to the car and he started diagnosing once again, which extended into another day. He checked the batter, fuses, ended up pulling the dash out and checking the gauges. He final pulled the back seat out to check the sensors… Low and behold, he found the problem: There was no gas in the gas tank!!! I can only image all the horrible things he must have thought at that moment… the names he must have been calling me.
Lea called me to explain the chain of events and all I could say is, «No F#@#% Way!!» I could not believe it and still cannot explain how that happened. I felt terrible that I had put Rick through that.
Rick, you are a professional Saint and a master mechanic. Did Signature charge me for this additional labor… you bet. And I deserved it. Considering all the time Rick and his team spent on my car, it was a very small price to pay. I learned some very valuable lessons:
1) Stay the hell out of my fuse box!
2) Never take my car anywhere else but Signature Independent — They Rock!!!

Very glad that I found this place to take my beloved E60.
I called this place on a recommendation from an online forum and have the utmost confidence that I’m getting superior, honest service. The front desk is very helpful and willing to communicate completely with what they are doing. If there is an aspect that they are unsure of, they won’t hesitate to bring one of their technicians in to help clarify/​answer additional questions.
Recently, I took her in for an oil change and brake fluid flush. I told them about a rough idle I had been experiencing, and they had mentioned they could run a diagnostic for $ 50 to see if any codes come up. Of course they said that if no codes were to come up they’d still have to charge me unfortunately. Well, after it was all said and done they couldn’t find any faults and waived the diagnostic fee!
I was very pleased that they would rather take care of me and not nickel and dime as they most certainly could have. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a solid independent shop after your warranty expires.

I went in for front brakes (pads and rotors) on my E61 and am happy with both the service and price. I was quoted nearly $ 900 at the local dealership and these guys beat that by a mile. A nice facility and great staff make this place a no-​brainer for me to return.
Signature came highly recommended by other BMW owners and I fully agree with them. Top notch shop!

Rick came recommended from a fellow member of the BMW e46 forum. I was looking into a car offered for sale in the area and consulted Rick via email since I’m on the East coast — even before committing to a PPI etc.
Rick provided valuable input and his advice was greatly appreciated. If his shop is this good just on an email consult, I can only imagine how great they will be on any work needed for your car.

What can I say? See my other review on another auto shop in the area for the entire issue, someone else did not get 5 stars!
Came here on a recomendation, one day before a scheduled $ 1,500 repair job at another shop and I left for $ 120 (the only thing replaced was a $ 4 washer!) and a good feeling about my car and the service I received. Needlesss to say I have found the shop for my 2001 740IL…
Some things are hard to get excited about, especially mechanics, but when you find an honest shop that shows you what is going on with your car and you know they aren’t out to squeeze every penny out of unsusecting owners that is one of them!

I hesitate to post this review since a good BMW mechanic is so hard to find, and letting people know about it will uncover this hidden gem!
However, someone like Rick needs to be recognized for the great work he’s doing. I brought my car in for a multi-​point inspection which was done while I waited. Rick was honest and straightforward with me, and gave me unbiased advice that could potentially take business away from him (regarding getting an extended warranty on my car, which would mean my repairs would be at a dealership and not with him).
I’ll definitely return, and would recommend Signature to anyone who owns a BMW that is tired of getting the run-​around at Bellevue BMW (owned by AutoNation) or even Seattle BMW.
