Dr. Krause has been in private practice treating hundreds of patients in Kirkland, Bellevue and the surrounding Puget Sound area for the past 17 years.

He attended WSU and finished his Associates Degree at Spokane Falls College before graduating from Sherman College of Straight Chiropractic in SC with a Doctorate of Chiropractic in 1995.

Dr. Krause’s experience began when he suffered a sports injury in high school. Chiropractic allowed Dr. Krause to continue his high school sports programs through graduation. He continued sports while at WSU and Spokane Falls College. He has continued an active lifestyle in the area enjoying skiing, golf, hiking, bicycling and classic muscle cars.

Dr. Krause teamed up with a group of professionals in October 08 and opened Better Back and Body Advanced Wellness near Juanita Beach, which is complemented by Naturopathy, Massage and Acupuncture.

His practice is focused on spinal care, postural correction and rehabilitation.

Dr. Krause is an excellent chiropractor. Before I began treatment, a comprehensive set of X-​rays is taken by the doctor himself. A thorough consultation follows so the patient can understand what the goals of the doctor are. Dr. Krause also takes the time to listen to the patient’s needs. He is professional, amiable, highly skilled, knowledgeable and very sympathetic to patients who are self pay. Maggie is the office manager. She is an extremely proficient and highly accomplished businessperson who manages Dr. Krause’s practice seamlessly. She is the most lovely and delightful woman you will ever meet. A terrific place staffed with outstanding individuals.

Called Better Back and Body having some pretty severe lower back pain. Maggie was so kind on the phone, and they were able to get me in that evening. Maggie was an absolute pleasure to chat with while I waited for my massage. Their practice is really welcoming and well decorated. My masseuse, Andrea, was also extremely welcoming and friendly. I had the BEST massage I have ever had. She even called the next day to check in on me. 2 days later and I’m completely pain-​free. The customer service and quality of work here is on point. Thank you! I can’t wait for my next appointment.

Congratulations on being voted the best chiropractor in Kirkland for the second time! The honor is so well deserved! Dr Krause clearly did not rest on his laurels after his win in 2011! He continues to treat his patients in a very professional and respectful way. He is extremely knowledgable and is always eager to share his knowledge so his patients fully understand their treatment and the underlying physical and medical issues. Dr. Krause is one of the first chiropractors I’ve met who has a whole body and health approach. When I came in to see him for the first time a few years back he was able to perform a thorough evaluation and put together a comprehensive program to fit my needs. LOVE!!!
I came here because of the reviews, and because I was underwhelmed at another chiropractor who wasn’t doing the job he was being paid for.
I was instantly impressed with Maggie, the receptionist. She is fabulously sweet. Dr. Krause then took x-​rays (but he said if I had x-​rays from another chiro to bring those-​no sense in doing them twice). I didn’t. He sat down with me for a long time explaining things and what he will do to solve some issues. The first adjustment took over a half an hour-​he was so thorough and uses all these great gadgets that massage and loosen up the muscles, and a very thorough adjustment from top to bottom. I felt better instantly. I’ve been in several times since. Every time he takes the time to listen, ask questions and see what’s going on. I really love Dr. Krause-​on top of that he’s very friendly and funny.
I’ve had a couple wonderful massages from Andrea-can’t go wrong with her. It’s the full package deal at Better Back and Body.
The office is very nicely decorated. There’s lots of parking and easy to get to.
You won’t be disappointed coming here. Highly recommend.

I had severe neck pain after a night spent sleeping on an especially bad hotel pillow. Dr. Krause fixed me right up.
He took x-​rays, examined my neck and spine, performed his manipulations magic and within an hour I felt better than I had in YEARS. Turns out that my neck and spine were out-​of-​whack for much longer than I thought. I had been living with the pain for so long that I had stopped noticing it.
I saw a different chiropractor after a car accident a few years ago and never felt this good about the experience. I was so impressed with Dr. Krause that I have gotten my husband set up for treatments as well.
I highly recommend him, and his friendly staff.

Being going to Dr. Krause for over a year. Very happy with his service. He was the first chiropractor, who actually sat down and explained what he was going to do and what he wanted to try and achieve. I really appreciated the fact that he is easy to schedule with and after helping me with some serious back problems, I go to him once in a while for a tune up. Before him I honestly didn’t really believe in Chiropractic care (which I told him based on past experiences) and I do now.

An afternoon commute home, resulting in my car being smashed by a distracted driver was the prompting factor of me finding Dr. Krause. Desperately needing a chiropractor as I was in pain and experienced all sorts of back/​neck issues from this accident I searched for a provider near my home. Before I made an appt. here I did my research and felt this was the place for me.
Dr Krause’s services are for all: believers and non believers in chiropractic care. He takes the time to explain his methods and treatment plan and will work with you to get a better you. He will listen to you and take into consideration all aspects of your lifestyle that may be causing pain. It’s not ALL about the adjustment. I’m very particular about chiropractors. There seems to be so many providers that know the basic methods but don’t take into considerations all aspects of healthy living, reflective pain, sensitivities etc. One more thing-​I have always respected the fact that he does not trash MDs; he is more than willing to work in correspondence with your Dr.
One year and two car accidents later, I’m on the road to recovery. I highly recommend Dr Krause; his experience has much value. My progress of structural healing is proof.

Dr. Krause has been helping me through a very bad bout of sciatica/​slipped disc. I like the fact that he is personable and honest. He sat down with me, talked me through my insurance coverage and didn’t try to get me to commit to a long-​term program (as other chiropractors have done). We discussed a realistic approach to my care with great results. If you need a chiropractor, you should definitely consider Dr. Krause.

We’ve been twice so far for my husband — once for the initial visit and x-​rays, and once for the follow up and first adjustment. It’s worth noting up front that I’m currently seeing a different chiropractor in Kirkland, and so far, the difference between the two is quite interesting.
But let’s get on to the meat of the review — this is not the cram-​as-​many-​patients-​as-​you-​can-​in kind of office. There’s not a line of people waiting for a 30 second adjustment. What you’ll notice right off is that the office is pretty peaceful, and the staff is very friendly and seem like they’re treated well, which is important to me since the latter is not the case where I’m currently being treated.
Dr. Krause is patient and considers all of your concerns — all while not lording his medical knowledge over you and not acting like he’s perfect. He’s very friendly and down to earth, which I very much appreciate, and he really wants you to understand the basics of how your spine works, how adjustments will work, and how his office can help you. Adjustments also last about 15 minutes — did I mention that adjustments at the office I go to last 30 seconds — 5 minutes tops?
Oh, and did I mention that he doesn’t make you watch a 20 minute video explaining the spine to you like you’re a 10 year old? He actually sits with you and explains it all to you, which I appreciated much more.
Outside of the care aspect of his practice, the other reviewers are right — the office environment is very comfortable and nice, and my only complaint is that each time we’ve gone (yes, all of 2 times so far), there are morons who stand 15 feet from the door smoking like they just can’t get cancer fast enough. But that’s certainly not the practice’s fault — it’s just a pet peeve of mine that I find very frustrating.
All in all, this feels like a fantastic practice, and I’m looking forward to switching myself once I complete the care I’ve already paid for at that other office I go to…

All I have to say is: AMAZING!
I was having some major lower back pains (like can’t sit, walk, stand at all kind-​of-​pain) so I looked on Unilocal for a chiropractor nearby. I came across Dr. Krause’s practice and read through the reviews. Let me tell you, they are all accurate!
The office is a very inviting space and atmosphere. Maggie is SUPER nice, friendly and helpful. Initially, they could not take my health insurance, but Maggie decided to check with them anyway just in case. She also called around to other chiropractors in the area to see if someone could take me with my insurance. Of course, she did this all with a HUGE smile on her face.
However, because I was in a lot of pain, Dr. Krause decided to see me anyway and squeeze me in between other clients. He took down my history and then we were off to x-​rays. He thoroughly explained what he saw in the x-​rays and where to focus the work on. As we moved past the x-​ray portion of the consultation, he talked me through all of his equipment as well as his normal routine. I felt really comfortable with him the entire time and he made sure I understood every part of the consultation.
Next was the adjustment. Let’s just say that I walked away with less pain than I had started, which was fantastic. He really does know what he’s doing!
One downside: not enough signage to find the office. It’s hidden just past an Indian restaurant.

I have been to a couple different Chiropractors throughout the years and while good, they have nothing on Dr. Krause. He and his staff are very caring, SUPER friendly, and the office is nicely decorated and set up. I usually bring my 2 kids as I am a stay at home mom, and Dr. Krause, Maggie, and Kim are always so happy to see them and don’t mind that my kids practically get into everything. Haha.
Most importantly, since seeing Dr. Krause I feel 110% better than I have in a long time. That is also in part to the wonderful Massage Therapist, Patty. I have found that incorporating massages with the Chiropractic care has been a huge help and what a stress relief! This place is about the only doctor’s office I look forward to going to!!! I will totally recommend Dr. Krause and Patty to everyone I know!

I love Dr. Krause and his staff. Recently moved to Kirkland and found Dr. Krause on Unilocal.I think his reviews are right on. I like the atmoshere of his office– everyone is VERY friendly.
Dr. Krause was very in-​depth on my initial exam. He took xrays in various ways so that he could see not only how my spine aligned, but how it moved. He takes a very mechanical approach to healing the body. It all works together, so it needs to be aligned. I like it!
I also appriciated that he doesn’t push a hard sell. I’ve been to chiropractors who want to sell you moving into their office for 6 visits a week… I’ve gone to the chiropractor regularly since I can remember. I just need an occasional asjustment and I feel great.
After 2 short weeks, my neck is less tense and I feel great! If you are new to the area– check Dr. Krause out. You won’t be sorry.

Dr. Krause, his team, and his facilities are the example that all other medical service providers should be evaluated against. The facility is top-​notch and patient-​centric. Everything in the facilities, from the color of the paint to the selection of materials, are designed to make the patient feel at ease and comfortable throughout their visit there.
The equipment is well maintained and state-​of-​the-​art. Dr. Krause has spared no expense to ensure that he has advanced equipment available to serve his patients’ needs.
His team is incredibly warm, friendly and knowledgeable. When I came in for my first visit I was greeted as if I was an old friend. The formalities of taking insurance information, filling out medical history, and payment for services were made to feel like an enjoyable experience with family. While I was waiting for my appointment one of the receptionists came over to explain everything that Dr. Krause would be doing during the visit.
Most importantly, Dr. Krause knows his stuff. He has been able to show me (rather than speculate like other doctors) the mechanical issues that are causing my discomfort.
I don’t know what else there is to say except medical schools should use him as a case study for patient care. He is personable, genuine and sincere. He takes a very pragmatic approach and explains what he is going to do and explains it in a way that is accessible to the lay-​person. He answers any questions you have in the same manner, all the while engendering confidence that he’s going to take care of your problems and take you seriously.
I would wholeheartedly recommend anyone for chiropractic services or anyone who wants to know how a medical service provider should interact with their patients.

This place is as good as it gets. The staff all the way around are extremely personable and will bend over backwards to accommodate you (pardon the pun). Dr. Krause is very professional and seems to be sincerely interested in your well being.
I took advantage of an online coupon for new customers and started seeing him a few months ago to see if there was anything that could be done about my chronic lower back pain. I was immediately impressed with how thorough he was. He took an inordinate amount of time with me listening to my complaints and inquiring about my history as far as it pertains to my back. Once the xrays were looked over and he diagnosed the problem the pain relief started right away.
I went into this venture hoping for the best but expecting that it may be much ado about nothing; I certainly wasn’t expecting results right away. The morning after my first adjustment I was able to get out of bed without the usual stiffness and misery. Needless to say I was stunned. I had been crawling out of bed on my hands and knees for months before that.
Unlike a lot of doctors, Dr. Krause seems to value my input and is always willing to alter his routine with me depending on what I feel are my «hot spots» at the moment. I couldn’t be happier with experience there and I would highly recommend giving this place a try if you have back issues.

I’ve only been to the office a handful of times and two of those mostly consisted of taking and going over my xrays but I’ve been nothing but impressed!
From the start, my phone call to make the appointment was totally painless. In fact, it was downright pleasant thanks to Maggie! Even over the phone she really makes you feel likes she’s genuinely happy that you called her. This was no simple phone act as she was this way in person as well. Definitely one of the sweetest, happiest people I’ve ever met. If more people were like her the world would be a much better place.
Dr. Krause himself was very friendly and knowledgeable. He was all about explaining EVERY step and I never felt he was just trying to push services on me in order to get that tasty Microsoft insurance payout. His tools are top of the line and the office itself is very sleek and comfortable. After only two adjustments I actually feel like I’m walking taller, my back pain is greatly reduced, and my neck even looks longer.

Dr. Krause has been my first experience with Chiropractic. I entered this world timidly several days ago, my preconceived notions of pops, snaps, traction and strange exercises always kept me from entering the Chiro World. It took a couple pushes, and one hard shove from my office staff and a doctor back home in Minnesota, but I finally made the leap and so far I am quite happy.
In regards to the office location and ambiance: The office is situated in a strip mall of sorts, next to a Bank of America. And while the office sits rather unsuspecting, you walk in the doors and are greeted with fresh paint, live plants and friendly faces. The place is spotless which for me is a must!
In regards to the office staff: I wouldn’t say that I can speak authoritatively on this aspect yet, however I am blown away by the kindness that Maggie exudes. She is as sweet as honey, easy to talk to, and incredibly helpful. I can truly say that she is hands down one of the best customer service/​receptionist I have ever encountered.
In regards to Dr. Krause/​Treatment: Again, I am new at this whole chiropractor thing, but so far, I have been impressed with the time Dr. Krause has dedicated to spending with me in addition to his ability to explain everything thoroughly including the theory behind chiropractics. Although I was skeptical at first, he did an awesome job soothing my fears and introducing me to a new way of thinking about my CNS/​ANS health. He definitely won me over!
I have suffered from back pain for a while and the x-​rays that Dr. Krause took and examined with me indicated several years worth a bad posture that if went uncorrected would turn into a very serious problem later on in life.
I am relieved that I found someone that cares as much about my health as he does. It is a breath of fresh air in the medical community and I hope it is only a matter of time before the AMA and other governing bodies recognize the benefits that chiropractics can offer the patient.

Our whole family comes to see Dr. Krause. He treats my children– 4, 6, 8 and 13 years old. I love that he treats each of them as individuals and has really taken the time to get to know them personally. He really listens to their needs instead of assuming what’s best for them or ignoring them. My 4 year old says that Dr. Krause fixes his «donkey neck» (he’s talking about Donkey from Shrek). I love that!
I have seen several chiropractors and Dr. Krause is hands down the best out of them all. He has amazing bed side manner and I believe he truly cares about helping me get better. I love that he works on my neck and back a little at a time so that we can see what works and what doesn’t. I appreciate him listening to what types of adjustments I feel comfortable with and the ones I don’t. I truly hate the neck and head exercises and he hasn’t made me do them once! Every other chiropractor I’ve had has insisted that I do them even though they hurt me. Dr. Krause will listen and respect you as a person and a patient.
My husband has been going to chiropractors since he was a child and says that Dr. Krause is the best doctor he has ever seen.

Dr. Paul Krause went solo and opened up his own Lake Washington Wellness practice in Kirkland. Beside himself and another Chiropractor, he also have Acupunturist and Massage Therapist.
The office is open space where he does his therapy. The atmosphere to his office is calm and quiet. I love the colors in each of the offices
