I love it here great atmosphere, fun classes, love the teachers and owners! Great for date night, girls night, private parties all around fun! Can’t wait for them to do kids parties! They have good snacks nice selection of beverages lots of variety in paintings and they are always running deals!

Still Loving this place! I have been back so often I have received 2 free classes. Lots of painting to pick from each month and 2 locations. Lots of parking and friendly people working there. Be sure to follow them on Facebook, lots of promotions. You can get a great deal to try them out if your are worried.
I have done wine and painting at 3 different companies and this one of my favorite. Lots of room so the classes usually have room. Great tunes and good instructors.
Great place for a girls night out or date night.
Come have fun and amaze yourself with your painting ability. I promise you will do MUCH better than you think you can. Take a deep breath and jump in!

So much fun! I can’t paint to save my life, yet I walk aw y with a painting that I’m not embarrassed to hang on my wall.

We were very impressed. This is a great place to unwind and just have a good time painting. The instructor, Kaitlyn was wonderful. She made it really enjoyable and personalized the experience for everyone there (about 25). She kept it very upbeat and professional. My daughter used a Groupon and we were treated like everyone else, which is even more reason to go back again. The owner was hands on too, which makes a difference. They include complimentary coffee, cookies, cheese, crackers and grapes and also offered wine at a nominal cost. It would be fun to go back and spend an evening with a fun group. sip wine and let the artist inside out! :)

This is my third time today. The first two are so awesome. I like Sara! She is kind and patient and always come down to look around. But today, Melissa just goes too fast! I feel really anxious and not have fun any more. But I still will keep coming but still will stick with Sara. Great place any more. Still love it!

Love this place! I’m obsessed with painting classes ever since I had my first one with Wine & Canvas. Although I am a fan of Wine & Canvas, I love how Palettes and Pairings has a set location, so you don’t have to travel to different places/​cities. The location is great; it’s really easy to find, and there’s ample free parking right in front.
The seating area is a bit intimate, but it’s a fun environment, since you get to see a bunch of past paintings on the wall, some of which I hope to try out soon! Everyone gets one free drink and there are cheese, crackers, and fruit to pick at.
I came here for a Seahawk painting, and it was so much fun. Every person got a free bag of Skittles in honor of Marshawn. What a fun little surprise! During the class, they had random sports trivia which was a nice touch to the class. And at the end, we all walked outside and took an aerial picture of our paintings in a 12 formation. So awesome.
I’m coming back soon with my mom, and I’m so excited for her to try this place out.

This place is Awesome!!! The owners and instructor’s are the best. I love this place and go very often. In fact in March, I did 5 paintings. I always check their website so that I can make sure to sign up before it gets sold out. In fact, I did 3 of them in a row in March, I did the water lilies, neon trees and swirly swim.
I am writing this because I am very shocked by Melissa F review. First of all, there is always someone at the front desk. The reason I know this, is because I would bring my painting to the person at the front desk to see what she thought, as well as getting more snacks.
Second, Sarah is one of the best instructor’s there. I have done approx. 16 paintings there (might be more) and Sarah has been the instructor for almost all of them except maybe 4. She said in the very beginning of the class (as she always does) that if you need help raise your hand, or if she is going too fast to let her know. Sarah, as well as the rest of the instructors have always helped me.
The problem with many that come to this, is that they don’t pay attention. I’ve had people talking through the whole class, than have to ask the instructor, what are we supposed to be doing now? So everyone else has to wait because of them.
Also Melissa F comment that everyone around her decided «to do whatever» is unbelievable. Maybe you need to look at the group pictures and you will see that everyone’s picture is pretty much the same.
The only thing I do not like, is that people arriving late have no sense of urgency or consideration for those that have arrived on time. We did not pay to wait on those arriving late.

I’ve been to a number of different «paint and wine» events by different businesses, and this was by far the worst painting experience. It really pains me to write this, but it was just so awful and I felt like I wasted my money and it was not a fun experience.
Pros:
–They have beers in addition to wines. And a cider! CIDER!
–More interesting paintings than some of the other places.
–Better hors d’oeuvres options, including olives, asparagus, grapes, cheeses, cookies, crackers.
Cons:
–It’s really REALLY difficult to see the demonstrated painting, both the actual painting and the process. I had one of the best seats and I still had a difficult time.
–My friend wanted a clean and safe place to hang her purse. We were told by the person at the front desk that she would be at that desk all night and so my friend should feel safe to hang the purse nearby on the coat hooks where the aprons are. I happened to look up 10 minutes after the painting started and the front desk person was nowhere to be found, and I didn’t see her again for another hour.
–The instructor, Sarah, was really awful at giving instruction. She was not clear and was definitely not concise. I found she used twenty words to describe something when five would do, and the words she chose made no sense: «make sure you have a good amount of paint on your brush, but not too-​too much», «blend the color into this section, but not too-​too much blending». I’m sorry, what does that even mean? We moved far too quickly and weren’t given enough time to actually complete the paint step. We were told multiple times that we could always go back and finish whatever step, only how do you do that when the next step is to cover up that part which you have not yet finished?
Everyone in my party and some of the neighboring people mostly just gave up and started «doing whatever». I understand that pretty much everyone is going to be overly critical of their own art, but my friends and I have all done this before and we’ve all liked our previous paintings. We left this experience hating our paintings. I’ve painted for fun on my own, and I’ve even given away a number of my paintings, so I’m not new to the experience. I was extremely displeased.
While I like the paintings hung here, and I would love to try them, I will not come again if the instructor is the same person.

One of the funnest nights out for my sister and I. We had so much fun, no pressure, and great instructions! Would highly recommend for anyone looking for a casual fun night =)

Such a great experience overall! I had taken a class before asking my friends to come with me. Good experience to bond with them and try something new. The instructors are very good and you’ll be surprised at how great your paintings turn out!
Upsides:
— Clean and well lit studio
— Friendly and helpful instructor and staff
— Painting supplies and materials already set up and prepared
— Quick registration/​check in process
— Even more affordable if you purchase from Groupon or LivingSocial! $ 20-​$ 25
— Learn that you’re a darn good painter
Downsides:
— Perhaps work on the ventilation in the studio. My friend got very dizzy in the middle of the class
Keep you eyes peeled for promotions — I know they had quite a campaign for the month of Feb for their 3 year anniversary.

I have never been to something like this before and do not have any painting skills, but I loved this! I didn’t know I had the skills in me! The staff were helpful, clean place, and easy class. Highly reccomend!

This place is a BLAST! I have been twice and have registered for two more classes. I don’t have an artistic bone in my body and it was really easy. They supply everything you need. The instructor will walk you step by step, just relax and have fun! The drinks are reasonable and good selection, lots of pictures to choose from and good parking. Let out your inner Van Gogh!!!
Also they have a punch card so after 5 classes your 6^th one is free!
It is a great way to have a girls night or date night with the hubby. I signed us up for the class on Valentine’s Day. He will do one side of the painting and I will do the other. I plan on hanging it over our bed.

The paint does not come out of clothes. Not the place for your favorite shirt.
Arrive early so your group can sit together.
It is LIGHT appetizers so don’t come hungry.
Seriously you can do this and will not regret going. Be careful it can be addicting.

I’m not an artist. However, when I looked at my piece the next day, I was like, «dayum, I painted that? I’m a boss!» I’ve looked at other studios offering the same concept, but I’ve noticed Palettes and Pairings seem to have a better array of painting options than the others. Therefore, I’ve been there twice in 3 months and bought another groupon to go again soon. Sarah was our instructor and she’s easy going, explains it well and offers to help (talks the perfectionist off the cliff when they’re not satisfied with their painting).

This was the BEST date night ever! My hubby & I bought a Amazon Local (a class for $ 20 instead of $ 40) and had the best date night! We did show up at 7pm and were the last to arrive, so we didn’t get to sit together and we had our backs to the instructor — but we still had the best time! (Next time we’ll arrive early!)
We were greeted with a fun beverage (refills were only $ 2/​beer and $ 4/​wine and they don’t allow tipping for the pourer) and appetizers including pickled artichokes & asparagus, assortment of cheese, grapes, and cookies. Sarah taught the class and she was wonderful!
They provide everything you need to paint your own masterpiece and show you step-​by-​step with clear instructions. The 2 hours felt like 30 minutes and before we knew it the class was over and we had fun new paintings! Ours was pretty simple, I think it was called Sparkle Trees. I can’t wait to go again, and I’d definitely pay full price next time! They said you «like» them on FB you get a discount, so we liked them immediately! Also — starting in September they are teaching classes on how to paint with coffee — super intriguing and I’d LOVE to do that one next! We’ll be back for sure!

We had a Bachelorette party here, and WOW! What a fun time! I will admit that I was a little skeptical at first (many of us were). I had no idea that they would be walking you through the process of painting step by step. It was great to see how everyone had a different look to their painting when it was all done and over with. I was downright impressed with my own (I would by no means consider myself an artist)
They had some tasty little snacks available and VERY reasonably priced wine and beer.
I can’t wait to do this again!!!

Oh how I enjoyed myself at Palettes and Pairings this past Saturday!
My mom treated me to a night of painting and wine sipping at Palettes and Pairings and we had an absolute blast! Not only did we get to pick a specific night that offered a painting lesson on our favorite option of paintings, but we also had a great Groupon deal to go with it.
There were snacks to munch on while you paint, which was a definite plus.
The painting instructor walked us through step by step on each portion of the painting until the finished product had been constructed. Sometimes they would move a little fast, which made painting well stressful at times. Or should I say, attempting to paint well.
My biggest gripe about Palettes and Pairings is that the two brushes they provide for you have definitely seen better days. Overused brushes definitely make it hard to work in the details of the painting, which was a constant frustration of mine during our session.
If it weren’t for the overused and abused paint brushes, I would have gladly given Palettes and Pairings a solid five stars.

For $ 40 this was a great experience!
I attended on a Sunday afternoon with 3 friends, we were served some cheese, cream puffs, cookies, and fruit in addition to a couple of mimosas. I was not aware that food was going to be served, so that was a pleasant surprise — and there was more than enough to go around.
The event lasted about 3 hours, which seemed long but there was a lot to do — and the instruction went pretty quickly. I’m no artistist, but I’m very pleased with how my painting turned out and so were my friends. We all had a really good time painting and chatting.
I highly recommend this activity — you get to spend time with your friends, learn something new, and get a great memento that may even be pretty enough to hang in your home.

This place is wonderful for a get together with friends, for a date night, or solo.
The instructors have patrons replicate interesting paintings in some easy to follow steps. They make it fun and don’t ever rush you.
Bonuses: All supplies are included (canvas, paint, brushes). Instructors are knowledgeable and helpful. They serve some of the cheapest beer and wine on the Eastside (which is always useful to get the creativity flowing!). And best of all they offer online scheduling.
Cons: The inside is a little cramped. They have a lot of tables set up to accommodate their popular classes. It is also a little difficult to find the first time.

The BF and I bought a groupon and we reserved a spot for last Saturday to paint «Golden Pond» (BF’s choice). BF has painted before (he and his sisters’ many paintings fill their parents’ house) but this was my first time painting EVER. I was pretty excited. It comes with a canvas, all the materials you need, some snacks, and an alcoholic drink. And instruction, of course.
The painting we chose was a little difficult to do, especially within the 2 – 3 hour allotted time. Everyone was already gone and BF and I were trying to finish our paintings (we are perfectionists, after all). His turned out really well (big surprise) and mine was on its way but I needed more time to add more details! Sigh. But it was very fun. And Amanda, our instructor, was excellent in showing us the techniques to make clouds, trees, reflections in the water, etc. I was so into my painting that I barely touched my wine, haha.
Would I do it again? Yes! During the day, they have open painting, and I believe you pay 25 bucks for all the materials you need and you can paint whatever you want (minus the snacks and booze).

SO MUCH FUN. If you stumbled upon this place and you’re on the fence. just go. It is absolutely worth it.
I chose this as the spot for my friend’s last minute bachelorette party. She was an art major in college and was extremely excited when I told her the plan. I called and made our reservations and let them know I was bringing a bride-​to-​be. They offered to get special items if we requested, such as champagne and cupcakes. They also gave her a complimentary glass of champagne when we arrived.
The food spread was great — Bruschetta, sandwich makings, cookies, cupcakes, crackers, & various tapenades. I also very much enjoyed the wine. I had a white blend that I will be buying to have at home.
This business is family owned and genuinely feels like it is. It isn’t stuffy or sterile. It is warm and inviting. One of the owners was teaching the class, and she was super laid back and friendly. I am certainly no natural artist. and let’s face it, I was at least 1 or 2 sheets to the wind. and yet I was totally able to follow her instruction!
At the end of the class, they have a drawing to see who will win a free session to come back. Having never won anything before. I didn’t hold my breath. But I won! So exciting! I was going to go back ASAP anyway. But this makes it even better.
The $ 40 fee includes all your painting supplies, food and one glass of wine or beer. Additional alcoholic beverages are $ 4 a piece. You get to have fun, be creative, get a buzz, and leave with an awesome picture that you created!
Totally worth driving to the east side for. Even all the way from West Seattle!
