Are you thinking about hiring a doula but unsure it will be worth the money? DO IT, trust me you will be glad you did!
I hired Sean Hoke from Let It Be Birth to attend my son’s birth in December. She was excellent and a needed asset to assist me during his birth. She kept me on track with breathing exercises during labor and a calming force when I thought my body was being ripped apart by contractions. I ended up needing a c-​section but I was still very glad to have Sean with me during this. It was super helpful because my husband was able to concentrate on our son in the immediate moments after he came out because I had Sean at my side keeping me calm and giving me the play by play of what was happening. I would hire her again in a heartbeat if we ever have a second child.
