Juanita Beach Park

This is one of the cleanest nicest beaches in all of Lake Washington. :) All they need is a boat doc and it would be perfect.

I found this place very recently because I don’t travel to Kirkland too often (I lived in renton and just moved to beacon hill. I’m used to running on trails and parks. Running on the dock is a nice change. I can’t wait to visit this place in the summer.

Good for families, dog walks, beautiful views. Beach is currently closed due to a nasty smelly bacteria in the water. makes walking here actually pretty gross.

So sad that the toxic levels in Lake Washington have closed this place for swimming late this summer. The park is nice not that well maintained though and the playground is pretty small so not worth bringing your kid here to play except to run on the grass. Where does all the money around here go? Rainer Beach has the best playground around! And Juanita has this???

This is one of my favorite place to go to with my family! Parking plenty and easy. There’s plenty of nice green grass for our dog to run around on. We live in an apartment complex, so our puppy goes nuts whenever he has the opportunity to roll around on some nice grass. Also, it’s a really fun experience for him too since we can go out onto the boardwalk that wraps completely around the beach in the water, so you can go onto water and walk from one of the beach and end up on the other side.
It’s a great walk, and there so many other dog owners out there. It was good for him to socialize with some many other dogs. Most of the people here seemed to be much older than us (50 and older?). I had no problem enjoying the coversations with them since they were super friendly.
The park is clean and decently spacious. I’d recommend coming out for walk and enjoying the water view.

Very nice beach. Has great view of lake Washington and a board walk. Big play area for kids. You can play volleyball, horse shoes, and tennis. Great places for dogs. Good place to have a picnic and swim.

Great variety of sceneries, trails and natural creatures.
I like to watch the changes of the seasons in this park from the colorful trees to waterlilies to turtles and etc.
One of my favorite parks around the are. I wish I was closer to this place do I could’ve gone there more often.

Really nice beach park. Play structure, nice beach, plenty of swimming area, kayak rentals, lake boardwalk. Proximity to restaurants. Nice walking area.
However, because it gets a lot of use it does seem a bit dirty. Water is murky and on our last walk around we noticed that somebody must have cut their foot badly as there was a very long trail of blood from the beach all along the pathway. Made me not too sure I wanted my kids swimming here.

One of my favorite parks to walk through! Im not sure why but somehow I always find myself driving through downtown Kirkland. Every time I do I figure I might as well drive by here and enjoy the view since it isn’t as crowded as the waterfront in downtown Kirkland. This park has volleyball courts and a play ground for the kids as well as a small beach area and grass area. The reason for 4 stars will probably be the bathrooms. The locks on the stalls won’t work and I feel like if I touch something too hard in that bathroom everything will fall apart. Other then that everything is great. The docks are part of a small trail that after doing two laps is equivalent to a mile, that works perfectly for joggers or bicyclists. Last but not least the farmers market is hosted in the parking lot here! So if you want a cute quirky little item or some fresh produce this is the place to go. To sum it up this park is worth going to at any time of day and any point in the year.

I came here with my 1 year old to play in the sand and water. I don’t plan to come back due to all the glass, and the beach quality in general.

–glass and general trash on the beach
–I found three peices of glass, in two different areas of the beach, and cigarette butts everywhere. Another mom also found glass.
–murky water
–sand is more pebble than sand
–puddles of silt and mud all along the sidewalk — poor drainage

I’ve driven by, participated Triathlon, taken my parents here… Great lake view from the eastside. it’s such a great place to do a lot of things. They not only have farmer’s market, but also food truck there.

This park is really nice! I’ve been here several times. It was a sunny & gorgeous day outside, so decided to bring my little cousins here for some sunshine and fresh air. The park was pretty packed. They have a playground and you can take a walk around the grounds. There is a dock that goes over the part of the lake. I’ve been kayaking & stand up paddle boarding here before during the summers. That’s pretty fun to do. They have a place where you can rent or buy kayaks and stand up paddle boards. But those do go quickly, so I suggest making a reservation online beforehand.

Sunset walks in the winter are amazing here. Even in the cold, this park is a gem.
It’s one of my absolute fave’s in Kirkland.
Juanita Village is within one crosswalk and you will find Urban Coffee Lounge, Cherry Du Pon and some good eats too.

I love this little park! It’s so nice to run by in the morning and soak up the beautiful views. On a clear day, you can see the Seattle skyline across Lake Washington! During the summer, they have activity tents set up for kayaking, paddle-​boarding and so many other fun things! The beach is small and a bit gravely, but it’s a lake! The pier is fun to walk or run across if it’s not too crowded.
A lot of people allow their dogs off-​leash here, so be careful if you’re a runner…

This park has everything, including a walking dock, volleyball courts, sand area, and benches. There are quite a few people here when the weather is nice! Many people are there near sunset walking dogs and running. It is extremely family friendly, and there are even ducks swimming around every time we visit the park. It’s conveniently located near restaurants and another area with ballfields.

Absolutely gorgeous! Have been driving here at least three times a week for past couple of months, in the evenings, just to walk a mile. On good summer evenings it is a little crowded, but way less than Marina park. Plus the little bridge on the lake is really amazing. Just one round and you would forget everything else that’s going on in the world! The sunset here is breathtaking (will upload some pics soon). The water is very shallow on the shore, something I think both kids and parents enjoy tension-​free. Ive seen people fishing, and boy, are there jars full or what There’s a big grass lawn/​ground, few scattered picnic tables, and a couple of nets for volleyball on the right most corner. It is very pet friendly. I really enjoy going there, though it takes us more than half hour each side.
PS — parking is never a problem!

This is a pretty popular place to go with the kids on the weekend! The beach itself is pretty small; about 20 – 30 feet of sand between the grass and the water. It’s really popular though, and there are ducks paddling by as you’re going for your dip. The water itself is pretty grody and murky. I might also just be spoiled by ocean beaches though, to be fair.
The rest of the park is really nice: rolling hills, playground and quite clean BBQ and picnic areas. Showers by the beach make it easy to clean sand off your feet, and there’s also paddle board rental nearby for the adventurous!
Parking can be a bit hard to come by when it is busy.

The beach has been my saving grace for the summer. Between paddle boarding and swimming and laying out on the ridiculously green and fluffy grass– there’s always something to do.

Welcome to Juanita’s backyard. I feel like the entire community hangs here, especially during summer evenings, and I love it. The kids play in the sand, ride their bikes or are on the playground. and adults picnic, play volleyball, throw a frisbee, people watch, or walk the dock (that goes out on the water and loops around — 2.5 laps is 1 mile). I come here more than any other park because it’s close to home, beautiful (offers a view of Seattle from afar) and it’s the perfect place to walk for some casual exercise after dinner. Also, it’s fun seeing regulars and familiar faces. I probably bump into someone I know every time I’m here whether it’s a coworker, volunteer and client from work, my old piano teacher, etc. Lastly, if you’re lucky, you might catch a duck with her ducklings popping up on the beach or swimming nearby :)
NOTE: There’s a parking lot with plenty of spots. BUT, people ALWAYS park crooked, so don’t be surprised when you see cars parked in all sorts of directions. Also, if you get hungry or thirsty while at the beach, Juanita Village is just across the street where there’s Starbucks, Full Tilt Ice Cream, Spud’s Fish & Chips, Walgreens and a few other places — very convenient.

New lay-​out, new sculptures and art, new parking lot, etc.
We went and had a picnic/​bbq there and a few things that you should be aware of.
LOTS of crows… some stole entire pieces of steak like the crazy crows from a Hitchcock movie! Also, not many tables available. We brought our own grill and if you want to consume alcohol in any City of Kirkland park you’ll need a permit first… and even then, you’re limited to about 3 parks… this one isn’t one of them.
