I was having a bout of severe dry eye. I called and they fit me in-​even though I had never been there. WOW!
Dr. Atkins or «Kerry» went over and above. He gave me advice, found a couple of ingrown eyelashes, and so much information. He was funny and informative. My eye feels SO much better. Eclectic! Pee Wee Herman dolls, frogs, bright fun colors, crazy glasses. I LOVED THIS OFFICE!
The staff was prompt and kind.

Staff is really nice and so is the doctor. For a medical-​type facility though, this place is very dirty. There is extensive dust buildup on the exam machines, the carpet and rugs are nasty and there’s too much junk to stay sanitary. You guys are great– but your facility needs a face lift for sanitary reasons.

Nice staff and Dr. Best thing is appointments are never too far out in the future.
Lately they’ve likely had an explosion of customers (good for them) so I’m probably being a bit harsh but every time I visit they have to spend minutes pulling my file and asking me if I remember when I came in last etc. Eventually they do pull out a hard copy from somewhere and then manager to misplaced it by my next visit. They are cool to hang out with so in the past this did not bother me but when short on time, oh well.
I also had a tough time getting copy of my own prescription from them. It took me multiple visits and phone calls.

I cannot believe someone could actually love this place. It is by far the nastiest I’ve ever seen, it smelled, had mold, the carpet in the optometrist office was disgusting, you can see water leak marks in the ceiling, dirty dated furniture and ancient equipment. I was so disgusted that I did not let them go ahead with the eye exam, I literally just left.

I thought for a while whether to write this review but I want to share my terrible experience at Eyedentity. When I arrived I was introduced to a musky Dr. Kerry and asked to walk into an untidy, dusty office, We did the eye exam and ordered my glasses. He actually made several insulting remarks and was bossing me around — it was like the twilight zone. Then I waited two weeks and when the glasses came I wore them for a few days but noticed I could not see well. I saw better with my OLD glasses. I went back and they were less than pleased that I was returning the glasses. They asked me to make another appointment. After a few days I met with a not so happy Dr. Kerry for another eye exam. I waited two weeks again and GUESS what? The glasses didn’t fit my new frames!!! So I waited again another two more weeks until I got the third pair of glasses. The staff and doctor didn’t seems to care. They only said,” I’M SORRY” but never gave me any update or information while I was waiting and waiting for weeks for my glasses. All in all a terrible experience. I would never go back again to that place again.

I was looking for a new pair of motorcycle riding glasses to replace my old scratched up ones. Based upon Online reviews and the fact that they accepted my insurance I chose to use Eyedentity. I had a great experience with the office manager, Robin, when I selected the frames and lens options. I was told that it would take up to 2 weeks for the frames to come in and then an additional 3 weeks for the lenses to be done at the Davis lab, which was the only lab my insurance would pay for. The order was placed on the 14^th of May and I expected to hear from Eyedentity by the end of June. When I did not hear anything I called Eyedentity the first week in July. I spoke with Robin who said she would check and get back to me, after not hearing anything for several hours I called again and Robin told me that the supplier had made a mistake. When she had originally placed the order the frames were on backorder and when they were finally in stock again the supplier had failed to fill her order. I was never told by Robin that the frames were on backorder to begin with. The supplier was going to rush the frames out to them and then she would get them to Davis and hopefully they would be done in 3 weeks.
Again, I waited and called the office on the 26^th of July when I had not heard anything. I spoke to an associate at Eyedentity who told me that the lab had made a mistake on the lenses and was redoing them, they would not be ready for another week or two. I asked to speak to Robin but she was out of the office and would not be in until the next day. I called the next day and spoke to Robin, but there was nothing that could be done to get the glasses finished sooner. Unfortunately, I was leaving for a two week road trip which was one of the reasons why I had ordered the glasses all the way back in May. When I returned from my trip I contacted Eyedentity on August 13 and was told that my glasses were ready, however, the extra foam gasket and retaining strap that had been part of the original order were not reordered after the backorder mistake and would not be delivered for another week.
At no point in this whole long ordeal did anyone from Eyedentity ever contact me without me calling them first, not even to tell me my glasses were finally done. If I had not called they would never have realized the frames had not been delivered. The only excuse given was that they are really, really swamped. Robin’s idea of inventory control is to place your order in a small tray on the shelf in the back office and hope that it takes care of itself. She stated that about twice a year she goes through those trays to see if anything doesn’t belong anymore.
Because my insurance paid for almost all of the cost, Eyedentity only wrote off about $ 40 as compensation for the 3 months it took to finish my glasses and they are going to mail me the gasket and strap when they come in. Robin claimed to be mortified by the poor customer service I had received, however, Eyedentity’s performance did not reflect this.
I really enjoyed my initial contact with Robin and wish my experience would have continued to be as enjoyable.
If you feel like micro managing you optician, calling every few days to check on your order, you might have a better experience. As it stands, I can’t recommend Eyedentity.

Wow– this is the coolest, and best value optometrist I’ve been to. 150 for full eyeglass and contact lens exam (which was fun and interesting), plus a pair of contact lens trials included. Went back for a year supply at the same price as 1 – 800 contacts and was given two more trial pairs with case and fluid. This place is great.

Their selection of frames is outstanding! I just got my second pair here and I’m thrilled. They have a lot of options ranging from the most basic to just a little quirky to wildly unusual. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and very willing to give honest opinions based on what fits your face and personal style. While many frames can be pricey they do have an excellent selection on the clearance rack they are happy to point out.

Dr. Kerry Atkins is the coolest, most easy-​going optometrist! It was my first time getting my eyes checked out and he made me feel very comfortable as well as clearly explained each test and what he’s looking at. All the staff were friendly and funny. Great first time optometrist experience and highly recommend them.

I’m not the type of person who writes a lot of reviews, but I figured that I would truly be doing this business and these incredible people a massive wrong if not.
I had been here once before (the service was great then also) but I had moved to Tacoma so I looked for an eye doctor closer to my new home; nobody else would see me in less than a month, my eyeglasses were good, the lenses had a bad experience in the sauna, I had a small procedure that changed the vision in one eye…
They could see me in 2 days! So I took my bucket of problems all the way to Kirkland and they handled it with «above and beyond» customer service.
Dr Kerry and Robin sat down with me to troubleshoot all of my issues. I truly felt that they were not going to be happy unless I left that office happy. We agreed on a temporary fix, Robin personally ground new lenses to fit my current frames, the Dr gave me excellent lunch options in the area.
To top it off, this morning I found a personal email from Robin to check in and offer any further assistance!
For all of you Eastsiders looking for an excellent eye doctor and staff — this is it!

Great service from the sales person. She entertained me in looking for a pair of glasses for 15 minutes. I did not find a pair of glasses that I really like though. Took of one star because she gave up on us in the end.

This is a strange and wacky optometrist’s office and eyeglass store, unlike any I had ever been to. The staff are eclectic, the décor is offbeat, and Dr. Kerry is a hoot. You will either love this place or hate it, as it IS cluttered and colorful and the staff here have hair colors not found in nature and piercings. But do they have a decent selection of glasses? Yes. Do they know their stuff? Yes. Are they friendly? Damn yes.
Dr. Kerry reminded me of a cross between Gary Busey and Christopher Lloyd, for some reason. He fancies Hawaiian shirts and Croc shoes. He’s quite the eye doctor! But individualism aside, he took the time to explain things to me in a language I understood, and to provide me with a thorough eye exam. I like how they don’t dilate your eyes with those dang drops.
The store interior can appear messy, with kids’ drawings Scotch-​taped up and down the rear wall and glasses and trays all about. There doesn’t seem to be enough counter space in the store. It’s very «home-​y», if you have a cluttered home. And multi-​colored walls and a fun mural behind the counter. I personally like an eclectic décor, but I definately think the place would appear more professional if they installed some better storage systems and more counter space. Also, a lot of the furtniture was old and dated; I noted the wooden big «lazy Susan» (rotating round table) in the dr’s office had some chips in it, and other wooden furniture pieces seemed scuffed, with worn paint, etc. This is in contrast to modern eye exam equipment and thorough care. I think the place would be better served to update its furnishings.
That said, they have an extensive selection of frames. The average price for a pair of frames is $ 250 (with some being a bit more and some, a bit less). This is for the frames only (not the lenses, or any of the add-​on lens features one might want, like anti-​scratch, polycarbonate thin-​ness, etc.). Even with insurance, it adds up to a lot, and I ended up paying over $ 200 out of pocket. But did I get a nice pair of glasses? Yes. Was it completed fairly quicky? Yes (ready in a week). I’m still getting used to the prescription, as the glasses seem hyper-​sharp to my eyes, but I like them, they’re «hip» and well-​made. They billed my insurance directly, which I appreciated (with Lens Crafters, I had to pay out of pocket, then fill out forms to submit to my insurance and wait — for months — for the reimbursement). All in all, this was a positive experience, doing business here.

Have I not written a review about this place yet? Yeesh. Well, to start, I purchased a new pair of frames + had an exam with the doctor – who, by the way, is completely awesome. I bought my glasses back in April or so; my review is a bit dated, but I’m going to comment because the latest reviews have had bad experiences, so I figured I’d add to the collective 4 – 5 star reviews!
I did not have an appointment, but rather a walk-​in, which I was blown away by how fast I was able to get in the door and see the doctor. I was honestly just rummaging around the store to see what their frames were like, as I had no idea I could get my exam out of the way the day of! Paperwork took a bit, but that’s to be expected. After waiting a bit, I spoke with Dr. Kerry, and I absolutely love his personality. Blunt, fast, and gets right to the point. He obviously listens to your concerns (if you have any) or your questions /​comments, but with his expertise and speed, he’s a top-​notch optometrist.
After finishing my exam, I did the search of finding the perfect pair. The sales associates helping me were completely and utterly amazing. I would grab a pair, try ‘em on, and they’d tell me how they looked – objectively! It was a total process of 2 hours because… well, admittedly, the other hour was just from trying on frames alone. There were so many to choose from and I couldn’t pick.
After all that was said and done, I finally picked the glasses I wanted, and finished paying. When that was all processed, they told me it’d take up to «1−2 weeks» to get my prescription in the glasses. Not only did they finish within the time limit allotted, but they called in a few days prior and said that they were checking in and thinking of me, which I thought was sweet! :)
Overall: ¹⁰⁄₁₀. This place is awesome and I’ve always recommended this establishment to my friends who are looking to find a new optometrist /​glasses.

I’m not sure if the other reviewers had experienced really unfortunate care at other eye providers and that’s what influenced such high reviews, but my first and only experience with Eyedentity will not have return visits in the future — that is, IF I ever get my eyeglasses I already ordered from them…
I had an appointment Sept 27^th. I have had a long history of glasses and needing strong corrective eye care, and this was my first opportunity — for a multitude of reasons, some of which I tried to explain to the doctor — to come in and get a proper fitting and most importantly, USABLE pair of glasses (mine were so old and obtained during growing years that they no longer fit my face and left indents, were severely scratched, etc).
Exam was OK, mostly normal routine. At a random point towards the end of the exam, the doctor suddenly did a weird Jekyll/​Hyde flip and went from seeming understanding, to lecturing me about «regardless of whether I pick the ‘cutest’ pair of glasses in their store, if I don’t wear them, they won’t help my eyes». I tried to re-​explain the reasons I had not been wearing my current ones, and he kept circling the argument in an endless cycle. Eventually he stopped, then tried to push contact lenses. Eye doctors always seem to love pushing contacts, and I don’t like them and I do not want them, which is always a side argument in itself, but all right.
I then pick out some frames, and being an individual with fibromyalgia and other sensitivities, my selection based on comfort is sometimes limited, which I understand. I was able to find a pair of frames that fit comfortably, and tried to ignore the incredibly high price tag on otherwise very plain frames (all total, left spending over $ 200 out of pocket, WITH insurance). I was told that it’d take about 3 weeks for them to come in, and left with a little debit card receipt and nothing else.
Well, it’s now been over 4 weeks, and I have not heard any word on my glasses coming in AND the company has not returned my attempts to contact them. I suppose at this point I will need to make a trip in on either a day off or the weekend and hope that perhaps in person I can get some sort of communication from someone.
Very disappointing experience overall. On a sarcastic note, I wonder if the doctor had included things taking over a month in his accusatory judgement on whether I will or will not wear my glasses (?!).

I had purchased a pair of glasses online, and while I love the frame, it didn’t quite sit right on my face. I knew it could be adjusted and I had been meaning to take it in to an optical shop to get that done. I found this place on Unilocal and decided to try them out, most especially since they’re a small, local business and that appeals to me. I couldn’t have been more pleased with my decision. Service was prompt, courteous, and the lady knew exactly what I needed. I was out of there in less than ten minutes, and best of all, the adjustments were free even though I didn’t purchase the frame from them. If I’m ever in the market for optical services or new glasses, I know where I’m going.

How can you not love this place!!!
The eye exam is wonderful! Dr. Kerry is very personable and energetic. He keeps up on technology and I didn’t have to have my eyes dilated. Very knowledgeable and efficient. My appt was right on time, no waiting around. They are willing to work with your insurance and try to help get coverage.
The office is fun and quirky just like the staff and Doctor. They have a TON of frames to look at and try on. They have a wide range of prices of will do what they can to make the glasses you love fit into your budget.
Yes they are crazy busy but you will get plenty of attention when it is your turn. I had two staff member helping me pick out the frames and fit my face AND personality. I decided to be a risk taker and went with the funky frames. I can’t wait to get them. You will get an honest opinion on your glasses while having fun. Everyone gets involved, even other customers.
If you are looking for a sedate, sterile feeling this is NOT the place for you. Must have a fun personality to enter.
Only draw back is their lab can be slow and sometimes it is really busy and there can be mix ups. The staff will be there to fix it and do their best to make up for the error.
Be patient have fun and you will not be disappointed in this doctor and quirky staff. Be sure to make an appointment and LOVE your frames.

They are the most kooky and sarcastic people I’ve met but they genuinely care about your eyes.
The interior is different, yes. Some people may prefer the drab and bland offices you might visit everywhere else, but at least I’ll forever remember and recommend this place!
A visit to their eye doctor is quick with an appointment, usually under 30 minutes and he will definitely make you laugh and have fun.
I have VERY SENSITIVE eyes and work in beauty department stores everyday so finding the right daily contacts was a challenge. THEY GAVE ME 3 WEEKS OF CONTACTS FOR FREE, all different kindS and even when none of them were to my liking, they gave me ANOTHER WEEK FREE. This is incredible!!!
When I went in to order my contacts (the fourth kind were perfect) they didn’t have them in stock and gave me ANOTHER WEEK FREE just for the inconvenience.
****They have switched around their filing system so don’t be discouraged if it takes all of 10 – 15 minutes for them to find your file. Be kind and realize they are growing as a business and are doing the best they can.
****Also, call to order and schedule your appointment because every time I’ve visited, there is always another guest being helped, maybe 2 or 3. I have a lot of patience and don’t get upset for easily, but for the whiners out there, call ahead and save yourself a frowny face.

Going to any other optometrist on the eastside is tantamount to putting sand in your eye.
Forget big box wholesalers and indifferent docs, this is where you should go for your next pair of glasses.
I’ve been a loyal customer for the last 8 years and after being convinced recently to ‘try out’ a discount pair of glasses elsewhere, came rushing back to Eyedentity’s unique selection and kick-​ass staff.
Robin and team have consistently been helping me break out of my optical comfort zone and choose some really cool frames from the astonishing assortment the store has to offer.
Doc is quick, personable and makes you feel comfortable throughout the exam process and has some cool tech in the back room to show you a bird’s eye view (har) of your very own peepers.
There seem to be fewer and fewer business like this out there that operate like a small dysfunctional family. Are they perfect? No. But they always do their very best to make you feel like the most important person there.

The customer service is attrocious, but the quality of the items is good. It’s taken me over a month and numerous phone calls and they still haven’t shipped my contacts to me. First it was they lost the insurance card, then someone «told them I was coming in to pick them up.»
As long as you’re willing to babysit them with phone calls every few days and don’t mind not having them mailed to you you’ll be completely fine with this company. They are extremely friendly and the doctor is very knowledgeable, but the coordination between staff is probably the worst I’ve ever seen in a business.
Also, due to the way they bill their tests I ended up having to pay an additional 25 $ for the exam.
All said, I’ll definitely not be going back as I don’t have the patience and/​or energy to babysit a company for something as simple as shipping my contacts.

Quick and simple and on time. The doc was chilled out wearing a nice Hawaiian shirt and shorts in February (yes this review is late). He was professional and efficient.
The staff are polite and nice and they fixed my glasses after someone with a slightly above average composition had whacked the frame out of shape.
