Elite Yelpers Get Pampered at Still Spa

Like some of the ladies below, this too was my first ever Elite event. And what an intro to the Elite lifestyle! I am floored :) And it’s not easy to do that to me. Nope.
Marc did a fantastic job of setting up the whole thing. The event flowed through with a relaxed and inviting energy, very smooth, like the glass of champagne that was handed to us as soon as we entered. The refreshing cocktail prepared with some good quality (I have had some terribly ones in my day) huckleberry flavored vodka with lime and fresh blueberries at the bottom of the glass prepped me up for a stylish and pampered experience.
While the robes were on the heavier/​warmer side, I can imagine how cozy and inviting it must be to slip into one of these during the cold chilly days. The food was really really good. But let me be the one to rave like a mad person about the mango cheesecake dessert. What a cheesecake! I couldn’t get enough! I am definitely going back to the hotel restaurant just to eat that cheesecake.
SERVICES —
The manicure was nicely done, it’s no different from any other types of Spa manicure I have had in the past. I only wish we had access to more colors than the ones provided, but I was happy with it nevertheless.
The massage was incredible. She knew exactly which spots to hit and focus on. I spoke to her about my chronic back problems and received a lot of helpful advice, starting from simple stretching movements I can do every day to what type of aromatherapy pillow I can use to relax those tense muscles. I felt that she really cared for my health and the level of knowledge was really helpful. She knew her stuff.
I waited a few days to write this so I can talk about my hydra facial. I really had no expectations out of this facial, in terms of what it could do to my skin. To be honest I didn’t expect any immediate results other than looking really shiny and well moisturized. But I was so wrong. The service provider was really wonderful and described this facial as an «antioxidant party on my face.» I don’t think I can describe it any better. I was shocked to see how well improved my skin and complexion was following the treatment. Not only did my face look clean, and even toned, the redness and sun burnt splotches on my skin were all gone. my skin looked 5 times more happy and healthy. I can’t imagine what an hour of this would do. I was very pleasantly surprised and am considering going back for this at least once a year.
MANAGEMENT —
Kristen was very passionate about the new direction they are taking Still Spa. This is probably the first spa which sells and prides itself on using organic and local ingredients in their services, something I feel that Washington is all about. Very good presentation, upbeat and professional personality. Everyone was all smiles at the Spa.
THE GOOD STUFF —
The goody bag was more than I could ask for. The new seaweed line looks and smells amazing. I can’t wait to try it out. I am especially a fan of the Coola sun screen for redness.
All in all a fantastic experience!
And did I mention that mango cheesecake? :)

This was my first Unilocal event, and this is especially well– targeted at me. Nothing beats the kind of me– time a spa promises. The event was well– planned and executed. It felt like I am really part of the re-​design effort as Kristen, the spa manager got us through the details. They are going to introduce their exclusive line of natural sea– weed line of spa treatments. Exciting!
The spa staff is one of the friendliest I have met. That stood out. Plus the extremely tasty shrimp — coconut appetizer and the lime cheesecake with sugar and spice!
There was a massage and facial– teaser — very relaxing and nicely carried out. Kudos to their masseuse, Laura. I’m taking off one star for their nail– service. Most of the nail paint they applied chipped off the next morning (which is veryyy unusual for me).
Another notable part is the location of the spa– inside Woodmark hotel at the beautiful Carrillon Point in Kirkland. The delightful sunset and food at Beach Café should be truly refreshing.
I go back quite impressed with my debut Unilocal event. It was quite a reward. I now know Kirkland a bit better!

I had the pleasure of attending a Unilocal!Elite event at the Still Spa and I can safely say that it was the best Unilocal event ever!
The spa itself is in Kirkland’s Carillon point where the Woodmark Hotel is located. The scene is like something out of a summer chick flick, outfitted with boutique shops that overlook the beautiful waterfront. A perfect place for a spa outing.
I’m not sure how other Unilocal!Elite events are organized but this one was orchestrated perfectly. The services – (facial, massage, manicure) were timed impeccably to accommodate 12 or so Unilocal elites. All of the services were great and the products the spa used were above average. I was also impressed with the staff members who operated the spa, most of them coming from the Suncadia Resort in Cle Elum to help with the event.
We also enjoyed the small bites The Beach House offered at the event. Burgers, lettuce wraps, fried shrimp and mango cheesecake. All in all, a great event indeed!

What a fantastic night at Still Spa! This was my first Unilocal Elite event and it was better than expected. After a crazy few weeks of work I was ready to be pamperd and it was so nice getting to expierence this at a spa that was new to me in Kirkland.
As soon as I put on my robe and slippers and locked away my belongings (which I locked up incorrectly at first but Kristen the manager promptly helped me out and then things went smoothy) I was instantly releaxed. I skipped out trying all the yummy food due to a no carb diet (very sad because the cheesecake looked amazing) and was quickly taken back for my first service: the Voya facial. As my first facial I don’t have much to compare it too but this one was amazing. I’m very picky about products so I asked a lot of questions about what was being put on my face. I listened to the story of Voya and I was immedialtly impressed with the knowledge and passion behind these organic products. I was suprised to get a wonderful hand and arm massage as well which is oh so needed when you work at a desk each day. I loved how my skin felt once I moved onto my next service (a massage!) and I can’t wait to go back and get another facial. The next service I got was a massage by Marc who did a great job. As someone who has gotten many massages and is very picky he did a good job. Granted I do have a regular masseuse and while Marc passed the test nothing compares to her. 30 mins is always so short in my mind for a massage but Marc did a great job of getting the knots out of my shoulder blades which have been bothering me for awhile.
Also, may I just say that I think I had the best sequences of services — Facial — Massage — Manicure. Perfection!
The mnicure was a lot quicker than I thought it would be but overall I was satisfied. I do have to admit I missed out on the had massage that usually acompanys my reguarlar manicures but I guess since this was an express service that there wasn’t time for it. I enjoyed good conversation and a great outcome to which I have to admit I’ve gotten several compliments on since.
At the end of the services I really enjoyed sitting in the dimly lit lounge room getting to talk with fellow elites. The overall expierence was fantastic and the goodie bag at the end that we were given was the icing on this yummy cake. I have already started using the facial anti-​aging prodcut and the sunscreen and I’m obsessed with both. I have never worn a more delicious sun screen in my life!

Yay for an awesome Elite event for us Eastsiders! When I read what was on the agenda, I knew it was going to be a great evening, but Still Spa and the Beach Café wildly exceeded my expectations.
As we arrived, we were directed to the locker room to change into comfy robes & slippers. Then we enjoyed drinks and appetizers from the Beach Café. The champagne and blueberry vodka cocktail were light and refreshing. I didn’t try all of the food because I didn’t want to be too full, but the Yarrow burger sliders and coconut prawns were delicious. I’d definitely go to the restaurant for those items.
After we ate for awhile, the spa staff started calling out our names to begin our treatments. We split into four groups and did the treatments in different orders. My group started with the talk from Kristen, the manager at Still Spa. We sat in a cozy relaxation room, and she told us about the changes that were taking place. They’ve changed from being a place that focused on chemical procedures to a natural, organic spa, and they’re renovating the interior to reflect that. She also talked to us about Voya, the line of products they’re using. It’s an organic Irish line that uses seaweed in their products, and Still Spa is the only place in town that offers them in their treatments. I loved how passionate and knowledgeable she was about everything, and I also found this same attitude in the rest of the staff I encountered.
Then we went on to the front room for the manicure. We each got three colors to choose from (light, medium, dark), and I chose the medium shade, a pretty shimmery pink color. My manicurist did a good job shaping my nails and painting them, and she was also very friendly.
Next was the facial, and I had Laura as my facialist. She was really obviously passionate about skincare. As she did my facial, we also talked about what products I used and how I took care of my skin, and she had really good suggestions about better sun protection. We had a basic facial using Voya products, but I definitely want to go back and try out their Hydrafacial, which sounds amazing! My skin felt great after the facial, and Laura also did a short massage on my neck and shoulders (she says she normally does hands, but my nails were still drying from the manicure).
We finished with the massage, and Taylor really helped get the tension out of my back and shoulders! I don’t normally go in for massages, but after that experience, I think I will start! I felt so relaxed afterwards that I didn’t want to leave.
We received amazing goodie bags to take with us, full of product samples and coupons for various businesses at Carillon Point. I’m especially looking forward to trying the Voya products!
I can’t think of a better way to spend an evening. Thanks to Marc for organizing this event and all the great people from Still Spa and Beach Café for making the event amazing and memorable!

Best Unilocal Elite Event, E-​V-​E-​R. The event was a culmination of my favorite things in the world: massages, champagne, desserts! But there was so much more, including appetizers catered by The Beach café, facials, manis and a goodie bag.
I got there just as Marc was opening up the doors and I lost track of the next 3 hours, which were filled with pure bliss. After check-​in, we were whisked to the locker room to change into robes & sandals, then came back out to enjoy the food & drink. I stuck to champagne (because champagne is awesome) and tried the chicken lettuce wrap with curry sauce and battered prawns w/​curry sauce. The food was definitely delicious and I plan to go to The Beach Café soon (as a matter of fact, I’ll be there for Yappy Hour *happy hour for dogs* on Monday, ⁷⁄₂₁). However, I’ll focus this review on the spa services for this review, in the order I received them:
— Facial: SO GOOD. My favorite part? The massage. All of the products that were used smelled lovely, and the esthetician applied and removed everything with care.
— Massage: AMAZING. Wish it could’ve been about 5 hours longer than it was. Great pressure level, consistently applied. The target areas were my shoulders & feet. The massage table was super comfy, as were the sheets & comforters. I wanted to stay there for the rest of the evening, but had to move onto my…
— Express mani: PERFECT. I was amazed at how flawlessly my nails were clipped then shaped: the perfect squoval (square-​oval) shape. I went for a cheery pink color that shimmers orange in the light.
The entire staff was cheery and made me feel very welcome throughout the evening. Before I left, I mentally prepared my next romantic staycation which includes staying at The Woodmark, dining at The Beach Café and, of course, getting pampered at Still Spa!
Thanks Still Spa for hosting us! Like I mentioned earlier, it was the Best Unilocal Elite Event, Ever!

This was my first Elite event so I had no idea what to expect. It turned out to be a wonderful evening of friendly people (both fellow Unilocalers and spa staff), tasty food, and most of all — exquisite, much-​needed and most definitely appreciated, pampering.
The cheery and talkative manager, Kristin, greeted me on arrival, and I was ushered off to change into a nice cozy spa robe. My belonging were safely stored in a locker, although sadly, I put my phone in there and so don’t have any pictures to share. After this, I joined Marc and the Unilocal Elites in the lobby where we tasted an assortment of cocktails and appetizers from nearby Beach Café:
— Blueberry Lemonade Vodka — light, sweet, and refreshing. I could see this becoming a favorite.
— Coconut Shrimp — Tasty, but the accompanying curry sauce was not my thing.
— Yarrow Burger (slider sized) — my hands-​down favorite. The meat was perfectly seasoned, with crisp lettuce and a nice toasty bun. I definitely wanted more!
— Lime Mousse cheesecake — light and sweet. I liked the cookie base, which had a nice crunch to it.
From there, we were broken up into groups and rotated through the services:
— Massage — The woman who did my massage was SO, so good. She made me completely comfortable, found those spots where I store up my stress, and worked them at just the perfect level of pressure. I appreciated her suggestions for easing my stress at home. I also liked the massage room, which was relaxing with soothing music.
— Express Manicure — I didn’t need much here so I got a nail shaping and polish change. I enjoyed chatting with the manicurist, who was friendly and told me about the spa in Suncadia where she usually is, which sounded so, so nice and worth a visit.
— Facial — I always feel sorry for people who have to give me facials because I have insanely sensitive, reactive skin, and as a result am quite picky about what products are used, and how the work is done. The esthetician did a wonderful job of listening to my problems and concerns and cleaning using appropriate, organic scrubs in a gentle, but very soothing way. There was a hand and arm massage as part of the service, which helped to both relax me and pass the time while a masque did its job. I would definitely go back for further treatments here — and I don’t think there is anyplace else in the area I can say that about! (Like I said, picky!)
I enjoyed meeting with Kristin, the manager, and hearing about the plans for remodeling the spa. I also appreciated how she took the time to tell us about all the other things we might enjoy at Carillon Point (waterfront spin classes — who knew?). I’m not over there very much in spite of the fact that I don’t like far away, so I was glad to have new reasons to explore and try things right in my home town.
I really appreciated this evening, and am looking forward to visiting (or maybe, re-​visiting) many of the businesses that I was able to sample. Thanks so much to Still Spa and Unilocal for a wonderful time!

I needed this spa day!!! So incredibly relaxing and it left me excited about all the wonderful updates they are making to this spa.
Upon arrival we were introduced to Kristin, a bubbly and smart woman who welcomed us and expressed her gratitiude in the most genuine way possible. You could really tell she loved her job!
We were taken to the women’s locker room where we were set up with locks, robes and slippers. (I wish the robes were a little lighter as it was quite hot out that day). I loved the option of the sauna in the bathroom, hopefully they keep that after their remodel.
Then we met again in the lobby for 30 minutes of cocktails and tasty appetizers from the Beach Café (which is located downstairs).
–Huckleberry Lemonade Vodka: sweet enough, not too much lemon and not too strong (I wanted 3 they were so refreshing). They also gave an option of champagne (which I had later).
–Battered shrimp with a light curry dipping sauce: I want that sauce!!! I usually don’t prefer curry but this had a light taste and wasn’t too heavy.
–Lettuce Wraps with curry sauce: nice small size, easy to eat and the curry sauce balanced the crunchy aspects of the wraps.
–Yaro Burger: based off of their full size burger, the bun was crisp and the meat was perfectly medium. A nice basic burger.
We were then broken up into groups of 3 (4 groups total) where we would begin rotating through the services.
1) Express Executive Manicure: Akiko provided me with the service. It was refreshing to chat with her about the event and the industry. Turns out we know some of the same people as I am an Account Coordinator for a skincare brand. She filed and buffed my nails just the shape I liked and was very gentle with my cuticles that were in disrepair.
2) Voya Express Facial: Laura was my facialist. I was apprehensive to try yet another new skincare line because of my current routine and how finicky my skin is, but Laura put me at ease when she informed me of the ingredients and the calming effect the seaweed based skincare has. I loaded her with questions and she seemed impressed and eager to learn of my routine, trouble areas and my background in skincare. I LOVED how she included a brief arm, neck and hand tension release-​massage, as I’m constantly working with my hands and hold a lot of stress in them. The soothing music, great company and rejuvenating essential oils added to the relaxing ambience.
3) Express Massage: Taylor helped me and I can PROMISE YOU I will be visiting her again. No one has ever released or found the kind of tension I hold in my spine like her!!! She started with asking about the main areas to focus on, I replied my spine, neck, shoulders and hands. The massage began on top of the sheet, her hands moved smoothly over my back, pulsing slowly, finding the tension. Then started the massage on my skin… this 30 minute massage felt like an hour, I swear!!! I was in heaven the whole time. As someone who can take a lot of pressure, I was grateful that she knew to go a little deeper than most. I left her room completely relaxed and happy. THANK YOU LAURA!!!
4) #kristintalksalot: The last part of our services was a chat from Kristin (she insisted this tag, I’m not judging) where she spent time explaining the newness of Still Spa and her excitement to be a part of it and make it innovative and worth coming back. Formally a medical spa, they are now part of the Woodmark Hotel and pride themselves on making a lasting experience for their client. I feel extremely lucky to have been a part of this sneak preview (they are still mid-​rennovation, to be fully finished by January 2015) and be able to spread the word to my loved ones, strangers and clients about this place.
THANK YOU Still Spa and Unilocal for introducing me to yet another great place where I can relax and take my mind of whatever is stressing me out.
