Elite Event @ Metropolitan Market in Kirkland

What a great event! And you could bring a guest under 21 — so my 12 yr old, who loves to help me Unilocal went with me! We had such a great time! Neither one of us were huge fans of the Metropolitan Market in Federal Way (that closed last year) but now we get it!
We started off in the basement with a great little selection of appetizer and a free shopping bag filled with goodies! At 1^st we thought ok, this was ok but pretty lackluster if this is all there is… Just as we were getting ready to leave, some of the store management came ½ way down the stairs. They gave a little talk about what Metropolitan Market is all about and told us about demonstrations and specials upstairs.
What fun! Cheese, cheese and more cheese (all the samples you want with a smile) plus they were making fresh mozzerella and serving it with 3 different specialty salts (I could have just stayed here all night). Watched all the demos and tried all the samples. The standouts were the Salmon (made in a Scanpan — which is now on my xmas list) and the lobster mac and cheese. Every employee we came in contact with was absolutely awesome (friendly, knowledgable, engaging).
Will definitely be back — since they are less than 10 minutes from my work and open 24 hours!

EEE! An Eastside Elite Event!
I was excited to go to my first Unilocal Elite event… then I saw the food spread of different cheeses, figs, crackers, salami, peppers, candied almonds downstairs and salmon, stretchy mozzerella, crab mac n cheese, sweet potato fries, and soup upstairs and became more excited. But best of all were the goodie bags!
As for Metropolitan Market, it was my first time there but definitely not my last. The staff seemed genuinely excited about their jobs and were helpful in suggesting various recipe ideas.
I probably shouldn’t have eaten dinner beforehand since there was enough food for a full meal, but luckily I wore loose fitting clothes so I could still eat as much as I wanted.
Thanks Katy! Unilocal should definitely have more events on this side of the lake.

Oh man, how fun was this?!
Wandering around an awesome market at night with friends, while nomming on delectable samples of hand-​stretched mozzarella (sprinkled with merlot salt), salumi & chard, chocolate & raspberry gelato, sweet potato fries, pepperadews, and much more!
Thanks Katy and the staff at MM for such a great event, I had never been here before and am so glad to have found such an amazing place! I’ll definitely be back this week (to pick up the whoppers gelato of course!!)
I also see myself coming here for gifts, the downstairs housewares area is to-​die-​for! They have cheese making kits, and neat kitchen gadget things!

An Eastside Elite Event! Yeah!
Attended this evening’s Elite Event at Metropolitan Market. It was the first time I had visited since grand opening weekend. The parking situation appears to have calmed down a bit which is a relief.
Started off the event on the lower level in which housewares and party goods are located. I didn’t even know they had a lower level of stuff!
Down there we found a table with a great spread of gourmet delights of breadsticks, crostini, almonds, figs and salami paired with cheeses. This is for a cheese promotion that MM is running that Steve Urkel would approve of.
But wait there was more. Seriously, I should not have eaten dinner. It was like a Costco sampling event except 1000 times better. Also got to try some other MM treats including a bacon & chard dish, sweet potato fries, salmon and cole slaw, macaroni & cheese, Gelatiamo gelato and different cheeses including handmade mozzarella with seasoned salt which is a combination that surprisingly works. All which were amazing. They do take their food seriously here!
There was no booze, but this was seriously one of my favorite Elite Events that I have attended. I even got some grocery shopping done at the same time. How functional!
